Hi Andy ☺, its cheap and cheerful, but no proper water trap , air filter. As a long time user of PCP airifles it's very important to charge them whith dry air ( diving quality ) as provided by the diving centre, otherwise you will put moisture into the guns air cylinder, causing corosion, of the internals, have you considered having your own divers bottle , if you consider going down this route I can provide you whith the relevant info if you so desire, or any other PCP info etc, so don't hesitate to contact me. Stay safe mate, best wishe's to you and Wendy, Stuart, Megan, Uk.
Excellent info brother thank you! Yep I’ve read up on it, but I figured that I only usually re charge my pcp about once a year or so, I thought it would be a small risk? Again thanks for your advice I’ll take heed! Very best wishes mucker I appreciate your kind feedback 👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽😎
@@MadDogSurvival Hi Andy, I'd a feeling you'd have already swotted up on that option being a smart chap, Air Arms make terrific guns, I've had a couple and couldn't fault em, I'm using a Daystate x2 ,177 at the moment , it's a few years old, and I changed all the seals 6yrs ago, but has never missed a beat since, I keep being tempted by a new one, but the old gun shoots better than me so why bother, lol. Pcp's are amazing, but I still like using my TX2OO in .22, another good AA product. I hope you have some good fun whith the 410, take care mate, kind regards Stuart Uk.
Nice one brother! Yep I’ve had mine for 15 years now and it’s still going strong, don’t use it as much as I should but I’ve got quite emotionally attached to it now lol… as you do 🙄…. If I need any info I’ll definitely tap you up brother! I respect your experience and value your help. Love and respect to you and Megan from us both mate 👍🏽👍🏽😎🇬🇧
Just a foot note Andy, 3/8 BSP is 19 threads per inch where as 3/8 NBT (US standard) is 18 threads per inch. This was the case when i purchased my pump so it may be the same for yours. Great bit of video many thanks.
Yep thanks mate! I usually check my threads with my thread gauges befe i buy any fittings especially for pressure fittings, that one extra (or less) TPI can make the difference between having success and failure! And could cause damage long term. Great point you raised my friend! Thank you again 👍🏻👍🏻😎 best wishes
When I shot precharge Airguins years I ago. I bought a pump to go with my Theoben Rapid 12. Was nice to move away from having to get my diving bottle refiled and MOTed each yet but OMGG it took ages to refil my little removable Rapid dubby bottles lol. I put thousands of rounds through that gun. These pumps are not for everyone but there very handy if your main bottle runs low. nice video, makes me miss my shooting days.
It’s a good back up for sure and if we need to hunt in a power outage we still can. Theoben was always on my wish list! Nice! Get back into it mate! Only here once! 😊 very best wishes buddy 👍🏽👍🏽😎
I've still got a highly customised BSA lightning. Synthetic black stock. Custom adjustable shoulder butt plate. Custom silencer. Only problem is its a first edition without the adjustable trigger. Very heavy even with a trigger shoe. Unfortunately you can't change the trigger.
Cheap and cheerful item to have brother! Thanks for sharing your video with us! Much love and respect 🫡 🇺🇸🇬🇧from across the big pond. Y’all stay well. (X2)
I really enjoyed this MadDog! I haven't had the chance to work with that style of air rifle so I learned a lot. Thank you for putting this together & sharing.
I bought a manual pump for my air rifles and it came with a moisture/dust filter. I find it's a lot easier to use your body weight to pump by locking your elbows after the initial push halfway down, and doing half-squats to get the 2nd half of the pump cycle to force the air into the rifle's reservoir.
I just bought a Gamo swarm magnum g2 because of the prices of pcp pumps. I had no idea they had one this cheap or I'd have bought the pcp. I might buy the pump now for the future.
I got mine for $45 on Amazon and it is well made and doesn't leak, but at 79 years old, I found that I could only get the tank on my PCP Gamo Arrow only half full after many dozens of pumps, so I found a dual voltage electric 4500 PSI pump for under $200 on Amazon, shipping and taxes included. So I'll save the hand pump for a backup, or when I want to try to give myself a hernia....
TBH while being a workout, workouts are good for you and your shooting. My advice is pump in comfortable stages, don't try and do it in one go, a minute or so break as required, just don't let the pressure out in between pump sessions. Tanks are easy but come with their own headaches...tank test and filling to name but two, ability to charge in the field is priceless
I actually not long got rid of mine picked up a nice HW110 .177. I will possibly do a vid but Scottish law is well strict on air rifles .. let’s hope that doesn’t come your way! Think I will keep my stirrup pump just in case though lol 😆 nice one Brother ATB Del 👍🔥
Yep it’s a shame and doesn’t make logical sense to restrict up your end as you have more open land per head count than us! Just another way of dividing and controlling us all! No doubt we’ll get further restrictions in the future! 🙄… anyway have a great weekend mucker 👍🏽😎
Thanks! The pump will add moisture out of the air into your rifle as it doesn’t have a trap, I only intend to use mine as an emergency backup in case of power outages etc…. So I would recommend using either the dive bottles or dry air compressors as the main source of re filling. Best wishes friend 👍🏻👍🏻😎
Thanks for that, very informative. I suspected that using such a pump may put moisture into the rifles air cylinder. It's a pity you couldn't film at 25 fps as 30 fps doesn't sync well our 50 cycle mains lighting. Despite that I like your down to earth approach, thanks again.
Thank you! Yes the moisture will be a problem over time but I intend to keep the pump purely as a backup for a power down emergency type of situation so hopefully shouldn’t be too much of a problem. I think my fluorescent lighting might not have helped with the video quality then! Apologies for that. Thank you for your kind comments. Best wishes 👍🏻👍🏻😎
You're a real Star my friend but I have a question could you use a pump for a carbon bottle as apparently gases are different and I'm about your age and just changed over from springer? Kind regards Matt
Thanks mate! I’m not sure about that but I know that a stirrup pump works with a buddy bottle, so I’m guessing that if the fittings are right it’s possible, but I would recommend getting some professional advice! Its high pressure stuff mate so please be careful! Have fun and best wishes 👍🏻👍🏻😎
Hello. The pump is still performing good, however I only use it periodically as I bought it as a backup incase of a power outage or if I needed an emergency fill in the field so it hasn’t had heavy amounts of use. But again in short yes it’s still performing well 👍🏻👍🏻😎 best wishes
Thanks, yeah I will only use the pump if ever I need to charge it during a power out or emergency situation etc as I usually use compressor or dive bottles and keep the air as dry as possible. Thanks again for your watching and commenting mate 👍🏻👍🏻😎 best wishes
Not sure but I assume you’re rifle has a female fitting so I’m guessing that the pump needs a male fitting? You would have to check properly though as I’m not familiar with that model, maybe worth giving them a call? Best wishes 👍🏻😎
