    As a rule I’m a die hard springer man but recently bought the Gamo Phox as an introduction to PCPs. I chose this particular one as the reviews are mainly positive and you get everything you need to get started in the package deal, gun, pump, carry case, pellets and scope (I’ve upgraded the scope). Thanks for this good little tutorial, a great talk through and demonstration . 👍

      It's not easy by any means, but it's not as bad as some make out. Also the Gamo air cylinder is fairly small.

    Great to see a video of the stirrup pump. You could see at the end that the effort was needed to get it over the line. I guess if you didn't push those last few pumps you could still shoot but with less shots? ATB MMMD

    • @RealAirgunAdventures
      @RealAirgunAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could stop short of the last few pumps and it wouldn't make a huge difference. The trick is to use your body weight and bend your knees, rather than your elbows. That needs a bit more space than I had for the video.

    my cheep pump £40 gives one shot per pump and about one bar per pump to 250 bar the same effort as pumping up a bike tyre cheaper and more convenient than a bottle i wasn't expecting that. strait arms and drop through bent knees to use body weight especial from 200 bar + so extra body weight helps . so the soprt envolces a little exercise and every 12 foot pounds fired you can say i did that

    I bought one of these phox today because of your lovely reviews. Now my question is, I'll be shooting in my garden, which is,around 10 meter max what is the best scope for that because I think the one in getting with Phox is too much for this little distance

    Hello RAA I wondered if you could please clarify if there is an upper limit of the BAR/PSI you can achieve using the hand pump? I note you filled it on here from 150-200BAR but also noted the Gamo Phox can be filled to max of 232BAR (I have heard/seen on other videos stating that 200BAR down to 100Bar is the sweet spot with less of fps spread/curve etc) but just wondered can the Gamo be filled to 232BAR using the hand pump? or does it require divers bottle/ mains compressor to take it over 200BAR up to the 232BAR limit?

    And this Gamo pump is currently the cheapest one I can find.
    Do you think it's better to get a more expensive pump with a water-oil separator included/built-in (like the Hill Mk4) or should I go for the cheaper Gamo pump and couple it with the separator you are using (it will still be cheaper overall by quite a bit)?

      @@metalheadz07 OK, the probe has a 1/8" bsp thread as does the pump hose. Once you remove the quick connector (supplied with the pump) the probe will screw straight in. Usually it will seal without any help but it has to be really tight. If it isn't sealed properly, you'll be looseing the air before it gets to the rifle. So you can pump like mad and get nowhere. Does that make sense? The answer is a few turns of ptfe tape (plumbers tape), on the probe thread. Although a nip up with good spanners may sort it. Hope that's helpful. @@roop298 no problem. The Kral Puncher np02 is a great compromise. Tons of air on board, shoots well and looks good. Comes in a hard case.

    How did u put the bipod on

      You just need to screw in a sling swivel. If you take the action out, there is a moulded screw housing inside. Drill through from the inside (3mm drill). Most Harris style bipod fit.

    Hi guys, just purchased a Gamo phox in kit form so comes with the stirrup pump. Question rifle is about 100 bar and when I try to pump air after about 5 pumps I am unable to pump any more with out really putting all my weight onto even then pressure not increasing really. The ease of the pump in the video is nothing like mine. What am doing wrong?

      Sounds as if the air isn't going in, just pressurising the hose. If your guage is reading 100 bar the first 25 to 30 pumps should be fairly easy. Check the connection both ends. Let me know if that helps.

      @@RealAirgunAdventures plenty of air in hose when I disconnect it. Air conning out of end of pump and looks clear so does the tiny hole on rifle where you connect pump. First time using a PCP and don’t want t knacker anything by forcing it. When you insert the hose into the rifle does it matter if the hole on the pump is in align with the tiny hole on the rifle? I wouldn’t have thought so as the air should still pump. Thanks for your help

      @@amillett6863 I think I would give it a twist and if aligning the holes helps. Bit of a long shot but worth a go. Just out of interest does the guage on the rifle correspond with guage on the pump?
