കേരളത്തിൽ ദ്വാദശ നാമ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രം കിഴക്കോട്ട് മുഖം.വളരെ വ്യത്യസ്തതയുള്ള ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രം. മറ്റ് വിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്ഥമായി. വിഷ്ണുവിൻ്റെ വിവിധ രൂപത്തിൽ. കേശവൻ,നാരായണൻ, മാധവൻ, ഗോവിന്ദൻ, വിഷ്ണു, മധുസൂദനൻ, ത്രിവിക്രമൻ, വാമനൻ, ഋഷികേശൻ, ശ്രീധരൻ, ദാമോദരൻ, പത്മനാഭൻ, എന്നീ 12 രൂപത്തിൽ അമ്പലത്തിന്റെ തെക്കും പടിഞ്ഞാറും ചുറ്റുകളിൽ 12 ശ്രീകോവിലുകൾ ഉണ്ട്. ശംഖചക്രധാരികളായ ചതുർബാഹു വിഷ്ണുരൂപങ്ങളാണ് വിഗ്രഹം. ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രധാന വഴിപാട് ദ്വാദശനാമം പൂജയാണ്. അത് ഓരോ മാസവും ഓരോ നാമത്തിലാണ് ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഗോപികമാരോടൊത്ത് രാസക്രിഡ ആടുന്ന ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണവിഗ്രഹവും ഇവിടുത്തെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. വിഗ്രഹത്തോടൊപ്പം ഒരുപാട് ചെറിയ ഗോപീ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളും ഈ ശ്രീ കോവിലിൽ കാണാം.

Anandapuram Mahavishnu temple is located at Muriyad village near Thrissur in Kerala. The temple is around 10 km from Arattupuzha and 5 km from Nellayi. This is a rare temple as 12 forms of Bhagavan Vishnu are worshipped here. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Mahavishnu and the deity faces east.
The 12 forms of Vishnu worshipped in Anandapuram Mahavishnu temple are Keshavan, Narayanan, Madhavan, Govindan, Vishnu, Madhusoodanan, Trivikraman, Vamanan, Sreedharan, Hrishikesan, Padmanabhan and Damodharan.
There is also a separate sreekovil (sanctum) of Rasakrida Sri Krishna. Here is Ganpati, Shiva, Durga, Ayyappan, Parashakti, Muniswaran, Rakshas and Kshetrapalan are worshipped.
ANANDAPURAM MAHAVISHNU TEMPLE HISTORY
A Valluvanad king had arrived here for hunting. He fell in love with a virgin woman in the region. The temple was built as per desire by the king. It is believed that the virgin woman later merged in the main Vigraham worshipped in the temple.
In remembrance of this event Enappudava Charthal ritual is held in the temple. Devotees can perform this as an offering.
the only temple in the world where the 12 rupas of Mahavishnu are worshipped as seperate idols so the name "Dwadasha pratishta kshetram"
