- We've always said no to cities, until we found this one. Manila is stealing our hearts, we had no idea we would enjoy being here so much.
Our names are Jmayel, Sacha & Story. We traveled to Siargao island with Jmayel's mum & Story's grandma just before the Global pandemic that sent the whole planet into quarantine. We got stranded for months and fell in love with island life, now we want to make that life more permanent.

You guys should totally go for it! It’s nice to have a city base so you go to the city anytime you feel like having a change of scenery. You can put it up on air b&b when you’re not using it and have that to pay for itself. Also, the New Clark City is being built up now, they said it’ll be the new BGC but better. It’ll be greener and roadways are being built for the future to avoid traffic congestion and it’ll be close to the airport and the new one that San Miguel Corp is building, much like Singapore’s airports. So lots of development going on and lots of great plans being laid ahead in the very near future. Exciting times! Btw, how did you guys like Toby’s Estate? I love their coffee, I was wondering what you guys thought of it. Of course also get your island home, I can’t get sick watching your island paradise adventures. Glad to see you guys enjoying Manila’s concrete jungle! 🙌🏼😊❤️
It’s very far with few people that can compete with BGC. BGC can sustain the leisure and lifestyle places because it’s a business district with rich neighborhoods around who can purchase and shop plus the populated surrounding cities that can also visit. That’s why you see a lot of international stores, lots of shops and restaurants there because there’s the crowd that will buy there. I’ve been to Nuvali in Laguna and IT park in Cebu City but the variety of shops is miles away. I would say even Ayala, Makati is already overshadowed by BGC because most expatriates, rich people and companies are moving to BGC/Mckinley.

Nice! Makati/BGC is a city within a city! It is very trendy, yet lush and green…I bet you guys miss your gorgeous ocean views and coconut trees! Hi Jay, Sasha and Story! You should try visiting Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, about an hour drive south of Manila. It will be a wonderful treat for story before you go back to Siargao 😊

Life in the city is very addicting, once you get used to living in manila you'll never go somewhere else😄 i hope you can buy your own condo as foreigners can buy condos, city is more lively and exciting during the holiday season especially new years eve, enjoy your stay in manila.

I was amazed to see that you were eating Driscoll's raspberries! They are a California berry producer and I am assuming those raspberries came from here.What a very small world.I also thought of you driving all over Siargao looking for fresh produce.Quite a contract to the Farmers Market you visited in the video.Then US company, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, followed by a coffee roaster and a dinner and drinks that could have been purchased here.Are u sure you weren't in LA???? I think you are walking in Makati Avenue (I saw Pacific Star Building or Nauru Building and the DBP Building) going to Ayala Avenue and ending up at Amorsolo Saturday Market via Greenbelt. The weekend market started as an organic vegetable market and has since expanded to include cooked foods - vegetarian, halal-certified and non-halal foods.
Does Mike and Nelly knows that you guys are in Manila?
Hopefully you guys can meet up somewhere in Makati or in BGC. That would be very nice.

There's another market during Sundays but a lot more farther. It's on Rada street which is about 15 mins drive from the hotel you stayed.

Having a city residence and provincial one is a dream. Having the experience of both worlds is ideal. Make it happen.
Manila is vibrant, cosmopolitan, modern, loud, unique and it offers something for every lifestyles.
I suggest proceed to SBMA in Olongapo which is the former US Naval Base, which is 5 hours from Manila. U will love there!
They’re back in Siargao. Only stayed for 1 week. If you saw the video when they left Siargao they mentioned they arrived Manila.
If you like Makati, maybe buy a condo there. It's more fun in the City. Siargao is good too but a little isolated. In Manila, there are a lot of places to go. All are unique. If you go to Divisoria, there are many things to do and buy in a very affordable price. You'll be surprised, you like to buy everything you see. Eight Miles, enjoy while you're in Manila. Stay safe! Nelly and Mike love also going to the market of Salcedo. After trying the newer cities of Metro Manila, you might want to check out one of the oldest part of Metro Manila which is Intramuros in Manila and Luneta. Bonondo is also the oldest Chinatown in the whole world.

Strawberries are not really native to the Philippines except in Baguio which has a cool climate. The tropical fruits are very cheap in the Philippines compared to the US or Europe.

GO FOR IT!!! Manila is a very strategic location and if you make it your base, you can do loads of road trips from here to other amazing destinations - may it be to the beach, the mountains, or the countryside. Then if you need a breather from it all, you can always go back to Siargao. It's one of the advantages of living in Metro Manila, it's ever-evolving but at a more relaxed pace that is not too overwhelming. Toby's Estate is a good choice for a cafe spot too and glad that you got to try Salcedo Market! I'm part of the people who suggested it in the comments from your past vlogs 😁
You can get a condo either in makati or bgc like what Mike & Nelly Lucy & George did or maybe their agent can find you a home suited for your family and budget. Love to see you guys trying the city life😍👍

Maybe nextime you should also try to visit the "venice grand canal" then after that you can head on M.O.A or mall of asia and cross the bridge to see sunset at the bay.😊👍👍

I went there too in 2018 when we were on vacation and there were actually more stalls... maybe bec of the pandemic . The foods there are great and bought the pinipig suman and brought here in Canada.I enjoy watching this humble people... Story you are a star..

You’re actually in Makati, the City of Manila is a little ways from there! You should visit there too! There are historical places to visit!
If there's a typhoon in Siargao and near provinces then much better you go for a vacation in Manila or Cavite and see what's next.

Life in Makati is wonderful. You’ll be surprised that it’s actually cheaper to live here instead of Siargao where rent is steep to my shock. The rent you pay there is good enough as monthly installment for a condominium unit of modest size in Makati. You can travel to nearby provinces that have beaches, lakes, rivers and mountain ranges. More opportunities are available in Metro Manila for partnerships and endorsements, imho.

@@pobrengotaw6306 too much tranquility makes me anxious. I prefer security, comfort and convenience on a daily basis, I go for tranquil places for vacays only. I only recommend places based on my personal experience.
Thats a very different experience to mine. I have lived in both, not as a tourist, actually lived there. Siargao was far cheaper by a huge margin than anything in makati.
