    Respect for showing a less than perfect colour correction. After all, you can only work with what is possible and it's important for the client to understand that.

    cool video james!
    i have some secrets to share.
    1) mix deep cleansing shampoo + bleach + peroxide 1.5-3%
    2) try to apply highlift creme colors such as 10.X or 11.X they will get that blue color out and give a nice tone at the same time.
    *1 and *2 are both saperate methods.

    mahalo nui for this video I'm a stylist from Oahu and a client of mine is hapai and we wanted to do something new but we didn't want to go as long as we were striving for so I opted out in removing her color her semi-color and we wanted to go to a rich mocha or maybe even a nice burgundy but as I was removing her hair and when I toned for that session it was still that same blue green blonde so color theory reverse colors so the hair then add the tone I decided to go against all of what I knew and treated it as a color correction toning process but here's the kicker I use box hair color as my toners with six volume developer olaplex collagen and we ended up going in a different route as far as how I applied it and we both love the results. it was a challenge and I was really praying to the hair gods but after I did that test strand, trusted the process and education this vid really refreshing

      Hi Suzanne yes I’m in in my experience I have done a hell of a lot of these type of colours sometimes you can get them out with cloud removers or bleaching then gently But in some instances the cortex is stained and when the cortex is stained that’s it there is no more you can do to remove the colour so I think that was the case in this particular instance the high-priority of a haircut call staining to the cortex and well that was the end of the road or we could do then was hide it. Thanks for coming all the best James

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much Elizabeth well when she came back in the next time it very much depends on what she would like to achieve but you would probably be able to come over this with bleach and not expose any of the green I would probably recommend her if she wanted to go lighter a set of foils or a gentle Balayage technique But the only thing that you would need to be aware of is obviously there is a lot of bleach underneath that hair so you would need to be hesitant about leaving light on the hair too long 👍🏻

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh hi Karen thanks for your comment yes I suppose I could’ve used that. I don’t think It would’ve had a massive amount of longevity and as my client was going back to Italy I didn’t want to leave her with a colour that was going to fade in a very short space of time so hence the choice of a semi permanent to get as much Long Jevity as possible I’m sure you’re aware of that when you apply a semi peppermint to porous hair it makes it almost permanent. And even the shade that I created was a long way off the target of taking her back to her previous colour (blonde) so we had to compromise compromise compromise and the condition to be honest wasn’t too bad in the end there was a little bit of sensitivity but not a huge amount more than when I started I was very careful not to over process any of the services and just keep a very close eye on the hair the entire time any signs of integrity loss would’ve resulted in me stopping process and having a consultation to remind the client that the integrity of her hair was of paramount importance

      @@TheLifeOfHair yes it made sense james ..The only reason i suggested the copper shampoo prir to service was to naturalize and add the pigment onto the cortex because that's usually where those vivids are held and the light colouring or decomposition of melanin is of course in the cortex .now i can't feel the hair and more than likely can't truly see the colour . It looked already blonde enough with the cuticle showing the blueish and green tint .. but i'm not there and so it would be ignorant of me to think i have all the knowledge available.I'm not saying this about yourself but i see it alot when people do nt understand where the bleaching happens and where the vivids or semi permenants are held. they bleach hair that is already blonde ...I did see a phd chemist salon owner use copper shampoo and it was like magic james ..or i did see another woman use a shades eQ once ..the one thats like sweet and sour sauce and it literally went blonde ..anyway yes you made sense ..you know what you are doing and explained it very well..i learnt something new ...

I am not a huge fan of products like Efasseur they are basically a version of bleach powder it is an alkaline agent that is mixed with water I would much prefer to use a gel colour remover like Malibu CP or risk than a powder alkaline product that is similar to bleach when I can just simply use bleach with a low pro - oxide Hope that helps all the best James

    I have 3c curly hair and this happens to me when I lighten with blue bleach after previously having a dark brown or previous silver toner in hair. I think it is the cortex being stained because curly hair is very porous. Will this fade to blonde if using a Demi light brown or brown gloss to hide the blue?

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thank you for your question yes it is staining of the cortex that you are experiencing. It will fade with time covering it with a Demi payment will just hide it until the colour has faded further but lightning will not help as if you start lightning the cortex you will break down the integrity of the hair and the hair will therefore break so Patience is a virtue and hiding it to with a Demi permanent will definitely help you achieve your goal

    • @ReisePiece
      @ReisePiece 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheLifeOfHair , yes my hair was still relatively healthy and curls intact, but the blue would just get brighter if I bleach bathed it, and I wasn’t sure if it was because of the blue bleach? Do you know of a non blue bleach you recommend?
