Since update 12 and SU13, I am having a lot of problems with this game. My computer keeps hanging on start up when checking for updates...Even if I delete my community folder. After a long search, I had to remove some aircraft and airports that I purchased on the official marketplace from my official installation folder in order to start up without any problems. I've tried using some mods in the community folder, but there are also a lot of them here that don't work anymore on startup. I did all updates. With Stripes I was hoping I could skip the "checking for updates" screen and solve my problem, unfortunately this software don' t skip it... I have not been able to solve this problem until today...Using Nvidia driver 528.49 for months now which perform very good . I have no idea how to fix this.
Re the skip updates - Think it's working as intended. I got the impression from the product page ("Skip Sim Updates Screen: Allows you to bypass a sim update by hitting [CONTINUE].") that the sim will still check for and tell us about updates, ticking that option simply gives us the option of continuing to the sim without installing the update.
@@DuncanCardew but what I’m really looking forward to is the Aerosoft A330. I know it’s not going to be Fenix-level but I prefer the A330 over the A320 in general and I don’t like the Headwinds
It looks interesting and $14 is probably fair but in my experience if Q8 says it's not a must have then I most likely wouldn't purchase it. Parallel is a great company and I am sure they will improve it with time. Thanks Sam for a superb review as always.

I don't know. $3.99 to alter splash screen, maybe. I would rather be seeing weather metar for each airport and flight plan instead of a graphic. I like the default airport flyby bird eye view.

The price is a reflection of the amount of work that has gone into the development. Many will find this unjustified for what the app delivers in functionality but there significant work that has gone into this app.

My opinion is that even if this addon was freeware I would not install it. None of its features and gimmicks justify the $14 price tag. Also, I would be very careful using an addon that modifies the simulator's core files instead of just going to the community folder. One of the features that allows you to skip simulator updates really intrigues me. For me, that's asking the simulator to crash after every update, especially if you insist on skipping. Updates are annoying, I know, but they are extremely necessary for the correct functioning of the simulator. An addon that lets you run old versions of the simulator ad infinitum because the user is too lazy to update sounds like a nightmare for MSFS devs, especially if the user goes to the forum to complain about some issue without warning about this detail of using an old version.
I like the concept but $14! Yikes, if they convince enough people to buy this at that price point, they could sell ice to the eskimos.😂…I recall too there is a way to quick launch MSFS thru editing some MSFS file.
Whilst I do agree that it's overpriced, the cost is likely a consequence of how niche the product is. If they feel it won't sell to the masses, they'll have to increase the price to justify their time on the product; those that really want it will pay for it. They're also a very small team of developers, which I imagine is also a factor.
Way overpriced for what it does, which is very little. Fast loading was already available through Steam's fast launch and knocking 10 seconds off an inordinately long launch time anyway is peanuts. So basically it's 12 bucks for a slideshow of airports and a button to suppress an update that you'll have to download anyway. I don't think it's worth more than $3 at most for what little enhancement and utility it gives you.
I honestly think the price is ok considering the amount of work that has gone into it. I question the usefulness though. It is a nice to have, but definitely not must have.
This could be good for my xplane 11. With all my addons and orthos, they could probably stream me a 2 hour movie...and still have time to show the credits.

Parallel 42 are known for their swift updates after each sim update. They are a reliable company when it comes to that. I highly value their FreedomFox / Fox2 - Complete, The Skypark, and Flow Pro, but in this case, I believe that this program serves no purpose whatsoever and is overpriced for what it offers. As I mentioned earlier, it may cause also problems since interfering with startup systems often leads to issues.
