The difference between AdobeRGB and DCI-P3 is not that huge anyway. It is mostly of importance for film makers. I do lots of photo editing in AdobeRGB for years, incl. CMYK exports for printing. You get a few more tones in the red spectrum in DCI-P3. So unless you plan to make movies on a high quality level, I would not base the decision on the display. However, the Pro comes out as the winner for me after all (need high performance and hate when the machine becomes noisy very fast).

Apple always does that to spend more money for extras. like when you buy cheaper like earphones or charges and while charge it says is not compatitle so they make you buy their product and are so expensive compare with others and they brake so easy specially the chargers i change them so many times. they just want make more money

bought the MBA i5 16gb ram macbook air, only issue ive had so far was running 2 vm's and compiling a program... its not as bad as it's being made out to be

Ishan Ghimire touchbar make function keys not as intuitive as it were (brightness, volume, pause, etc). Now you HAVE to look down to use it, and you HAVE to use it like that. It is not as simpe as “don’t use it if you don’t like it”. That’s why we don’t like touchbar

I really think you should start focusing on day to day usage a bit more. Benchmarks are fine, but you should do another kind of tests in situations that are more likely to happen in real life. I can tell you that half of your viewers don't need the performance of the pro, but they end up buying it because of that.
So not true. Their are plenty of videos talking about the creature comforts of these laptops whereas these videos are actually very informative and these tests are a direct correlation to regular day use.
Why buy a product where the cooling system is so poor, as soon as you do anything remotely taxing it thermal throttles. So you have a CPU that can never run at full speed. Answer is don't buy it so the next version is improved. Running constantly at 100 degrees isn't going to be good for the components either. That's probably why so many Macbook air's fail.

Thanks for this video! I was having some buyer's remorse getting the 8th gen Pro over the 10th gen Air, but this has made me more confident in my decision. I'm not a power user but I do a little more than basic tasks and I'm on my laptop for long periods of time, so I think the choosing the better cooling/thermals is ultimately going to be the better choice.
I'll be sending anyone asking about macs this year to both this and your macbook pro comparison videos. I almost never watch 16 minute video reviews but I'm glad I made an exception.
I bought the i5 Air last month even though a lot of people claim that it's an overheat machine because I thought that I just use it for browsing the web, TH-cam, and email. But when I used it for about 2-3 days it becomes hot(90c - 100c) and the fan spins so loud even just 2-3 tabs in safari and it was getting louder when I downloaded some apps. So I decided to sell it and buy the base model Pro instead. Now I use Pro for a week and it's work great, no overheat or fan noise issue anymore with just 45c - 65c temperature. I remember being super disappointed with the 2020 Intel MacBook Air. Disliked that even though they added a quad-core CPU, it was still far less powerful than a similarly-priced Windows laptop. Amazing how the M1 has changed so much.
Apple just can't do two things right at the same time: 1. Connect the heatsink to the processor 2. Use the latest CPU and Graphics Processor Only if they can for customers willing to pay $1799 for MBP13 or $2399 for MBP16...
If they connected the heat sink to the processor on the air the pro wouldn’t sell. Especially since the upgrade to the i5 processor makes it a better deal than the pro and is only $100 more.
The CC is fairly good, but honestly the reviewer is using a lot of big tech words. I recommend going over apple's website and checking out the words for better listening comprehension in the future!
Good thing I went with Pro. Almost got the Air becoz of the cute gold color. Been using Pro for days around 10 hours straight and it is definitely worth it! No lags and superb performance!

You told us in previous videos that we shouldn’t buy the old MBP, because it has old gen. cpu and ram and the new MBA is better. Now after they have updated the keyboard ONLY, you say that it is awesome and MBA isn’t a good decision if we want a good performance. Nice
If your work is not about video editing or graphical work, then Yes, go for the new gen MBA cuz it'll save you money while still delivering good performance. But if your tasks are heavy and need to work, like, a whole day long, MBP is much better though with the old gen. AND, if you need a MBP with 10-gen, go ask for your wallet. A 8-gen 2020 MBP doesn't mean it's the old MBP. It's just using the old gen but with the new design and new configuration!
I would love to see a buyers guide on the high end 13 inch model. Whether it is worth to upgrade the cpu or not and it would be great if you show how much ram is being used during video editing in order to find out which ram option you would pick however, thanks for the great video!
Can I recommend, instead of running the benchmarks for graphics, hook the computers up to a 4K or 5K screen, and test multiple video types. Numbers do hold value, but the end-user is going to use the laptop, not just look at the numbers.
@@TitusSc That is a good point about the numbers. So I'm a car guy. Dynamometer numbers are one thing, but actually getting out on the road and running through the gears is another experience. In my view, end-users who may use external displays would benefit from at least seeing the real-world performance.
I got the air with 16gb i7 anyway because I want an actual laptop, I almost only use it on a bed or sofa and dont want that bulkyform factor. I kept my old air for ten years so maxing it out saves me money in the end as I can keep it a few more years.
I just got a MacBook Pro 13” (2020) recently in store and my mother was with me. She never was into tech until she won the 2012 MacBook Air in a random draw and it’s ease of use changed everything for her. That laptop has got old and slow and outdated now and I can’t believe she came out of the store with a brand new MacBook Air, she doesn’t typically drop €1,100 so easily. I work in digital marketing so the Pro is very fitting for me and she is learning new things all the time but isn’t a heavy user so the Air fits her perfectly. I think this sums up the Air vs Pro. Buy the Air if you want a high quality laptop, that won’t break in near future but it’s more for everyday use and buy the pro if you have a hobby or job that requires a high preforming laptop.

This test is ridiculous my Macbook Air 2019 seldom reach 100 degrees and right now our weather is 43 degrees centigrade! It is under 60 degress with many tabs open in chrome and watching TH-cam!

I bought the MacBook Air i5, but for 100 euro I can upgrade to MacBook Pro. It is more future proof. It's a difficult choice. But it is better to spend 100 euro more than have a fried MacBook Air

I highly doubt that- it's being captured on camera so it's not the exact shade. It's a veeery subtle difference.

I use my air for basic tasks and it doesn’t heat up. Shame it’s name is spoilt as some uses want to edit videos on it.

Honestly there’s no comparison there; the 16 inch MacBook Pro is leagues ahead of the 13 inch MacBook Pro in terms of power and graphics.

But if your tasks are heavy and need to work, like, a whole day long, MBP is much better though with the old gen. AND, if you need a MBP with 10-gen, go ask for your wallet. A 8-gen 2020 MBP doesn't mean it's the old MBP. It's just using the old gen but with the new design and new configuration!

I would love to see a buyers guide on the high end 13 inch model. Whether it is worth to upgrade the cpu or not and it would be great if you show how much ram is being used during video editing in order to find out which ram option you would pick

Can I recommend, instead of running the benchmarks for graphics, hook the computers up to a 4K or 5K screen, and test multiple video types. Numbers do hold value, but the end-user is going to use the laptop, not just look at the numbers.
That would be extremely useless. Benchmarks are a much better way to test the overall performance of the graphics chip

@@TitusSc That is a good point about the numbers. So I'm a car guy. Dynamometer numbers are one thing, but actually getting out on the road and running through the gears is another experience. In my view, end-users who may use external displays would benefit from at least seeing the real-world performance.

I got the air with 16gb i7 anyway because I want an actual laptop, I almost only use it on a bed or sofa and dont want that bulkyform factor. I kept my old air for ten years so maxing it out saves me money in the end as I can keep it a few more years.

I just got a MacBook Pro 13” (2020) recently in store and my mother was with me. She never was into tech until she won the 2012 MacBook Air in a random draw and it’s ease of use changed everything for her. That laptop has got old and slow and outdated now and I can’t believe she came out of the store with a brand new MacBook Air, she doesn’t typically drop €1,100 so easily. I work in digital marketing so the Pro is very fitting for me and she is learning new things all the time but isn’t a heavy user so the Air fits her perfectly. I think this sums up the Air vs Pro. Buy the Air if you want a high quality laptop, that won’t break in near future but it’s more for everyday use and buy the pro if you have a hobby or job that requires a high preforming laptop.

Quick question: How does the CPU being pushed to 100 degrees almost all the time affect the longevity of the Macbook Air 2020?
theoretically it shouldn't but im pretty sure that it isnt really good for the cpu to run at 100 degrees all the time
@@HuugTheSeal it will hurt after couple of years heat up and cool down cycles developing electron channeling effect and become sluggish in performance

My old 13 inch MacBook Pro 2015 model used to heat up a lot just by opening google chrome. That’s why I am upgrading to the 1799 13 inch MacBook Pro this summer

@TheGoat no, because it's literally BUILT to be for casual users?? There's a reason Apple sells the Macbook Pro. The Switch and tablets are able to game because games are made for THEM. Macbook Airs were never able to game, will never be able to game, and dont need to be able to game. If you want to game on a laptop, buy a GAMING laptop. Professionals buy a Macbook PRO(fessional).
They must have changed the pricing sometime in the past couple of months because according to the Apple website it’s $180 to upgrade the 13 inch pro to 16 GB.

This test is ridiculous my Macbook Air 2019 seldom reach 100 degrees and right now our weather is 43 degrees centigrade! It is under 60 degress with many tabs open in chrome and watching TH-cam!

I bought the MacBook Air i5, but for 100 euro I can upgrade to MacBook Pro. It is more future proof. It's a difficult choice. But it is better to spend 100 euro more than have a fried MacBook Air
