What we beginners don't understand is the weight transitioning between the heels and the toes and vice versa. I haven't seen too many videos explaining this. Seems easy, but when you're on your skates and don't have the skills, you have to think and do, not only do. It takes a lot of time because you have to figure it out on your own and you have to practice a lot until you really get it.
HalleluYAH! Thank you brother for this amazing lesson. I am still learning that as a beginner skater, stopping power is the single most important skill to learn. Really appreciate your skill in skating but more importantly, you taught this better than many others.
Tuesday August 29th 2023 I’ve been trying to teach my 8 year old granddaughter how to skate for the past 11 months and she is just so scared ! She won’t bend her knees and I have to hold her hands and pull her along with me ! It’s been really frustrating because I have brought her elbow and knee pads , special padded gloves , helmet , padded pants to put over her jeans , you name and I’ve brought it for her and nothing works ! 😂😂😂 I even have her watch tutorial videos ! Totally useless ., but I recently discovered your videos and I have been showing them to her and she is beginning to finally show some effort ! So I want to say thank you for taking the time to make your videos ! If anything , they are helping my granddaughter gain some confidence ! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😊😊😊
If you havent already, it may also help to teach her how to fall properly so she has the tools to land safely and feels ok falling. Hope she is having a fun confident time!
I think it's important to also teach her to put pressure on the tongue of the skate with her shins, on top of telling her to bend her knees. Just bending knees without any other actions would easily cause backward falls. I've learned this the hard way.
That was awesome! Thank you! You explain really really well :) For me the whole stopping thing is basically why I never pursued inline skating because I was to scared to not being able to stop and then fall and hurt myself. But I think I will give it another try and practice how to stop properly. Thanks again :) Sending you love and creative vibes
Thanks. Nice tutorial. I have model that have break in the back. I noticed that T-stop messes up my wheels so I use break pad in the back, I have skated 10 years and I mostly prefer skate in quiet places in flat terrain countryside
Great video thanks.I’m just trying t stop slowly been doing toe rolls like asha says uk skater lady plus want do forward crossovers .I’m better at backward crossovers .my strength on one leg getting better it’s taking time due to me being window cleaner 40years.it’s harder on inlines I started on rollers this summer.I use to do roller disco as a kid 45 years ago my dad too .
Years ago I went skiing in Ruidoso, New Mexico. I had never skied before. But I had been a prodigious skater/rollerblader. I quickly realized a move called: "Snow Plowing" was just like stopping on roller blades.
"You're gonna come into issues is you try to powerslide and the sliding leg is too far up.... that's when things *go a little south*". And that's putting it mildly! 💥😅
awesome video! I notice u stop mostly with your left leg for the final technique. Is your left leg your dominate one? or do you prefer keeping your weight on your dominate leg, and brake with your non-dominate one?
I wish he answered these and other comments on videos. Honestly, being new to skating - better to practice using both legs so you have more options when skating. And if you're forced to an unnatural position or side, then you'll still know how to stop since you practiced both your dominant and non-dominate legs.
Technically speaking, NOT politically anything because it is a technical move that the laws of physics and gravity will explain very well, the popular "drag stop" actually performs an L move in order to stop. |_ What you performed in the video, never made a T shape to stop. You made the L shape quite well.

You missed out the "grab a nearbye tree, sign or person" stop technique
I happen to be really good at the "face-plant" method. It might also be the quickest stopping method.
Or the "brick wall slam" technique...
@@someguyontheinternet-very effective
@@ShannonSouthAfrica oh yeh had a few of those :)

Hello! will you please make us more tutorials of urban tricks and moves especially the smooth front to back transitions and advanced strides
I went to this channel for the roller skating, but I stayed for Ari because he seems to be a really nice genuine guy!

Great video 2 years later! Love your videos brother! Shalom!
You are using the hockey perspective which I believe is good because it's physics is efficient and universal to all types of rollerblades.
Nice! Any tips for backwards skating? I can transition but have trouble picking up speed and carving backwards
Great video and explanation thanks, going to give the backwards method a go!👍👍👍

Can you do something on working on your weak side and what problems occur abd why.
Can you do a vid for the first things to learn as a beginner?
As a beginner you have to put the skates on u and start rolling and try to find your balance
please, some tips for stopping with quad skates

Its nice to hear Hiccup's voice on your videos. 😜
I hope we stop by this location at BAR this year.
I’m still learning how not to fall backwards. Forwards isn’t a problem.
Thanks. Really needed this lesson😻

Thank you so much
This is so beautiful i love love love how you explained it... You cute too... You jst gained a sub
Love it!
What wheel hardness should I get to be able to power slide?
🎉🎉
I like your video ❤
did you tried to powerslide with your knee ? :P
What blades are these Ari?
I personally use my head to stop
It's like hearing myself talk 😫 No hate, It's nice to know I'm not the only one who takes a bit to get a sentence out.
just call mom to stop you or bring her to a walk and use her as a breaker 🤣🤣🤣
Watching this I feel very dull, because I have these Inline-Dkates with brakes at the heel and I just Do the Banana-Kurve to slow down xD
I know why you call yourself the stuttering skater now 😮

You made the L shape quite well.
Wait. Why is "drag stop" unacceptable? Does it have the n-word in it or something?
Yeah I'm calling it a drag stop.
BECOME UNGOVERNABLE.
Wait irs called a drag stop because your dragging the wheels. Thats to much
im so sorry but- thank u for this informative video- but u trying to be politically correct 100% of the time is kind of funny
Are you kidding me!!! A drag stop is politically incorrect!????
