Respect for the cameraman worrying about pointing the camera in the right direction all the time and phisically transporting it through the crazy streets of NY!! // while trying to have fun and not get killed LOL
This was so much fun to watch! I can't even imagine how much fun this ride was! Kudos for the almost anonymous camera man who had to keep up with these two! I'm always baffled by his fast fakie riding in the most complex situations!
What "government" are you talking about? It's New York City. Controlled anarchy. Nobody cares what you do unless you kill somebody or commit some other egregiously illegal act. It ain't sanctimonious MAGAworld with its deep state conspiracy🐂💩, phony moral judgments and space laser theories. When Marjorie Taylor Greene visited they ran her out of there real fast 😰
Cameraman did incredible! Keeping up with them in NYC traffic is an amazing achievement by itself, but to get those shots staying upright is wild. Great skating, great camera work, super edit!
All three skaters really delivered! Bold but not stupid or reckless. Some real pro-level stuff! And that trek! Such good wholesome fun… both the skate And the banter. 😉 Thanks for bringing us along for the ride! 🤙🏼
As a London skater I've always wanted to skate in Barcelona but this just makes me want to skate in New York! I'm not sure if I could keep up with you Christian but I'd definitely not want to try on race skates, hat off to Angelia for trying. You are an awesome skater dude. I really enjoyed the Chasing Strangers video. Used to be mad like that on quads in the 80's and 90's holding on to buses and stuff but survived into my mid fifties. I'm not sure you could do that stuff in London with narrow roads, pot holes and mopeds everywhere. My other favourite skater is Nicola Torrelli.
Such an amazing flow. Ari, you are a great inspiration to a lot of street skaters like me. Shout out to the Camera man. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Watching from Nairobi, Kenya.
Shout out eh, Big I am, from Nairobi, the female skater was equally amazing. Bladding behind some one else when you can't see the road surface ahead is even more challenging than any fancy jumps. Even more respect to Angelia who showed amazing skill, nipping in and out between vehicles she could not see ahead for flipping into an opening when it was blocked just as Ari had been through it. Peter, London
Such a wholesome video! Thoroughly enjoyed viewing the ride through the city! Showing the better sides of NYC lifestyle! Everyone needs to get outside more!
Man, I have spend hours on youtube daily since the site launched. Never seen Street Sketers videos before. Even efter like seventeen years of this platfom, there are still new magical videos to be found. Thank you! :D
holy shit the steady cam framing just stays good, what an amazing camera operator! Couple times I thought they were gonna get squished and they eked by, I held my breath lol
Enjoyed watching this very much! Thanks, and mad props to all involved. I was not too bad on a bike at that age, but I've never seen anyone weave through NY traffic like that guy. Takes a very good, fast eye, split second timing and absolute fearlessness. Loved how he runs about 100 red lights and then berates a driver for running one - the cheel of it! Amazing how the young woman kept up - I'm sure she is very athletic in her own right, but that kind of skating takes some getting used to (and a degree of madness :-))!
This video was absolutely incredible. Watching all 3 of you just glide through city was such ease was so hypnotizing it was therapeutic. The chemistry between you guys had put a smile on my face the entire 20 minutes and 18 seconds. Thank you so much for putting this together! It made my night
The video, the people, the music, the skating, it's all so good! I've been binging your shorts and have officially subbed and I'm not disappointed by the first recommended video.
We do a skating unit in our gym class and it’s my favorite, my mom said that we can’t skate on pavement or concrete, I sent her this video and I might be getting rollerblades soon!!! Great video! I’ve learned a lot from these videos so I should really be saying… Thanks for helping me prove that I can skate on the sidewalk :D
NOTHING is worse than taking a “breather” in inline speed skates. YES they are molded specifically to your feet, but holy crap, carbon fiber hurts!! I had Bont Apaches molded to my feet, and they were so uncomfortable after an hour of skating. Freestyle/street skaters have the comfort to cruise for miles. I wish more companies would invest in a mid grade price, calf height, 110mm wheel base hill bobbing set up. This video is so awesome to see! Also a second thought, I wish speed skating/any skating in general would be as hyped up as BMX or skateboarding. The US hasn’t brought up skating since the 90’s but yet in other countries it’s praised. We need more of this!
I FEEL ANGELIA'S PAIN. I put those same speed skates she has on, in my attic, they were so painful when I tried them a few months before the COVID pandemic, and now opted for a three wheel 110mm sized wheels which feel so much better and lighter. But watching this video, in preparation for this year's 2023 Big Apple Roll (I think she was in last year's video) she has now motivated to bring them out of my attic and try them on the bike trailways. But NEVER in the streets of NYC. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO brave wheeling by traffic, which I can do, but over manhole covers, broken pavement and debris is insanely courageous, and especially at the speeds they were skating. I can seem to brake the way she does. Thanks for sharing this video cause it is a masterclass in urban skating.
The way Angelia skates, it's a bit sketchy going over the rough stuff, but the way Ari skate's it's totally fine. One skate in front of the other and your front leg braced makes it so you roll basically anything. You don't rely on the front-back stability of your skate, you rely on the front-back stability of your two legs.
You wouldn't be annoyed by skaters like this? I imagine as an NYC driver of any kind you just have to go with the flow to not go insane, but even so, some of their lines through traffic were a bit sketchy
In most places in Europe it's unfortunately not legal. Fortunately there are typically more cycle lanes. That said cycle lanes with skates are bit boring as it's narrow strip often not even enough space to stride comfortable and on top you need to keep watching behind your back when cyclists are coming to let them pass you.
In Australia it's only legal on 50km/h or lower streets where there's no lane markings and no median strip (in other words, it's legal on typical suburban streets).
This looked absolutely awesome and then I saw the camera in a car reflection and made it 10x more impressive knowing that those camera angles were being fully done in the moment and not even by a drone or car. Just wow!
Wow i just watched the whole thing and this was just a random video i clicked on probably because i used to do rollerblading as a 90's kid and seeing the two of you go at it is really impressive. Cameraman 10/10. Such a cool video. Edit: I watched this a second time. Sooooo good. Music on point. City is very pretty once you just take a moment to just forget about everything and just take it all in. The leg work is really something i really enjoyed seeing. 😎👍
You could also be The Mimicking Skater the way you copied the speed skater and skate boarder lol! Love your vids man! They give me so much nostalgia from being born and raised in NYC and all the skating I did there! Keep Rolling!🤘😎
Since I have two lefts legs knees ankles and horrible Coordination 😅😂😂😂 this is so cool to watch I feel like it’s me getting all that air in the city and feeling free while doing it ❤❤
you make it so easy when you skate so gracefully. Just curious but do you also experience fatigue when skating? Like when you pass through a not so smooth pavement and there's the frequent vibrations going through your feet that feels a bit painful?
I used to dream of this as a kid. I was pretty good on ice skates but never really felt comfortable on blades. Kudos to you two. This time without endangering pedestrians.🎉
as a fellow street skater of 20 years I cant express how fit these two are, constantly having explosive energy to dodge and accelerate around cars is tough.
What a brave young lady for tackling this in speed skates. I haven't skated NYC since the 90's. I'd love to come back one day...but I'll be wearing 3 or 4 wheels...not 5 or speed skates. OMG
very nice video and awesome skating. by chance, does anyone know what frames he is using? looks like 80mm on ground control aluminum frames...but at times, i think the wheels are larger than 80...hard to tell.
Totally brings back my memories of being an inline speedskater and street skater in NYC in the 90s. I went to college in midtown, and remember then hell of skating uptown to Central Park for 10km laps. For street, we were all over the city, and whenever cops or security would chase us out of a spot, I was always the fastest to get away

I thought the camera man was going to eat it at one point but he did fantastic. Great job by everyone.
the government doesn't want you to know that rollerblading is the best way to get around the city.
Pretty much anything but a car.
how does rollerblading compare with skating or scootering or biking does anyone know how they all fare against each other?
I would say biking is, with blading a close second.
@@HotFiya05 there are certain holes of traffic that are harder with a bike tho, it's just too long
