This was the comment I was looking for. Jamie’s dream about being in the bowels of Casterly Rock with Brienne is from ASOS. The video was confusing me with that.

Jaime's weirwood dream is my favourite as it shows a bit more of his psyche. Tapped into the network or not, those people were not really there, so their attitude, words and actions come from Jaime's subconscious. There is an audio excerpt of that dream nicely read on TH-cam. At this stage Jaime still puts on the mask of indifference but the way he is in that dream says a lot of his innermost thoughts. There is no hatred for his Prince or Brothers. He THINKS they would blame him, but that's HIS imagination not necessarily the truth. I like how Rhaegar is described as surrounded by grief. And how to him Jaime defends his inability to save Elia and the children, not killed Aerys. And also being left in the dark by Tywin and Cersei beforehand, planting a suggestion that he doesn't belong WITH THEM. This is the dream that motives him to go back for Brienne. Something that we can imagine 15 year old Jaime do, the Jaime as he wanted to be. Otherwise it changes little but is another stepping stone towards his transformation. With the vision of his mother, he is being gently directed in the right direction to be where and when he might be needed. I don't subscribe to the theory he's Azora Ahai, but he will have a role to play in the final showdown. I was surprised that they didn't use him more at Winterfell for strategy and planning. He had more experience directing armies than Jon or Dany, but the show didn't do many things. He hates being known as Kinsgslayer, but he may need to slay a Queen (Cersei) or do the opposite and SAVE a King or Queen like a good Kingsguard (Jon or Dany)? However, it would have been heartbreaking and subversive if he had to forge Lightbringer by plunging it into Brienne's heart or something.
Jamie’s sense of self and carefully manicured reality crashing down is excellent foreshadowing AND in his dream it’s said he belongs with his sister in the darkness below THE ROCK?
Not that we need anymore "secret Targaryens", but...Joanna's words always strike me as indicative of Tywin not being Jaime and Cersei's father because what she says Tywin wanted for his kids is inconsistent with what we've heard Tywin say he wants for them (at least for Jaime). Coupled with the knowledge that Aerys hated being laughed at, Aerys made Jaime a knight then granted him the most prestigious position a knight could hope for, and Joanna questioning if Jaime truly knew his father, I have to wonder if Joanna's talking about the man she says she is. In my personal opinion, I'd love it if Tywin's only biological child was the one he's treated like dirt while his crowning jewels were another man's. In my best Vernon Dursley voice, "JUSTICE!".
If Jaime is Targaryen he can be one of the three heads of the dragon, and there's so many evidence that supports cersei and jaime being targ specially Cersei, and there's even resemblance of names between the three siblings and their parents Tyrion tywin Jaime Joanna cresei aerys
There's more evidence supporting this theory than there is for Jon's parentage in the book. GRRM waves it infront of your face all the time. The Targaryens & incest never really left the Throne. Jaime did "bring me your father's head, if you are no traitor" and never broke his oath. Also theres only 1 (mostly) confirmed secret Targaryen (Jon). The other is a Blackfyre
I think Bran is a third candidate for Jamie's second dream. They have a personal connection and the green dreams have been shown to transcend time so it could be Bran at a later date. I think Quaithe is possible too because of the emphasis on identity "Do you know who you are?" Which is identical to what Quaithe says to Daenerys in her first communication with her.
I watch LML regularly. I found your channel recently and I dig your perspective on the books. I’ve subscribed to your channel and thank you for genuinely good content.
I think Jaime is Azor Ahai and the Valonqar. Azor Ahai has to stab his wife to create Lightbringer. He could very well do that to Cercei (and she would deserve it) with Widow's Wail (very appropriate name here) which is made from Ice = Ned Stark's former Valerian steel sword. A Song (wail) of Ice (the sword) and Fire. Only Jaime can wield Lightbringer in his fake hand, because it would burn anyone else (other than Dany).
The problem i have with the Azor Ahai prophecy, is that i think the propechy of it being one individual is a red herring and that Azor Ahai embodies multiple individuals. So far, Davos is being written in the way that he is going to be Lightbringer. Jon is the Prince that was Promised and Dany the Stallion that Mounts the World.
Bro that last Jamie dream was so beautiful. I loved it so much, Jamie needed that so much. Also the first time listening to the audio book made me realize how magically influenced and out of place that first dream is . And I can’t believe I missed the fact he was resting on a weir wood tree. For me that practically confirms that there were magical Elements at play, and I love the distinction between visions and dreams!
There were a couple of things you got wrong here. 1 Jamie's first vision happens in a.s.o.s. 2 Jamie is not in kings landing when Ned has his dream in g.o.t. Still a good video though.
*Your videos are amazing and make me even more excited about the ASOIF story, the only problem is that we will probably never read The Winds of Winter.* *I feel like GRRM has created so many things and stories in a huge world and now he doesn't know how to finish his story anymore.*
Jaime’s vision of the silent sister kind of reminds me of The Mother, of the Seven. He was brought up with that background, his mind would at least use it as the dressing if it is not a true vision. The faith of the seven seems really an oddity amongst all this magic and something subtle like that seems neexed
This is incredible! The only thing that could've made this better was a bit of direct reading from the books. I personally would've loved to hear you read the passage about Jaime's dream.
“Bloodraven did it” usually works for me. Helps me ignore time-traveling bran. Also love David Lightbringer’s idea about Quaithe and Bloodraven are working towards the same goal w/o knowing it. Ice and fire parallels ya know
I like the idea that Tywin was secretly a sympathetic character. We’ve never seen his POV, which Joanna is saying to Jaime here and perhaps the readers as well (“I wonder if you ever knew him, truly.”). Also in AFFC, Jaime has a conversation with Genna Frey/Lannister where she portrays Tywin as sympathetic… he had to be cruel in order to protect innocents.
I can believe that Tywin told himself that he didn’t not want to but had to be cruel, in order to protect his House or family or innocents. But as with other things, that would not be the first or last time that Tywin deluded himseld
Been binging your videos for the Pat week, and the decision to subscribe was made so much easier just because my favorite song was referenced in a video about my favorite book character. Good looks!
It’s pronounced like “beer” 😂😅 Stoneheart, being a dead Cat, is partially from the weirwood net. It’s interesting that Jaime kinda goes there. It’s part of his hero’s journey, I think. It’s just difficult to see what it is he gets to help him on his journey.
I absolutely love your videos, and the way you explain the plots and theories, I hope you can make some videos explaining the Journey of some (important) characters throught the books, kind of a sumary for their story. Thanks for making such a great videos of ASOIAF
I think there is a third person with prophetic abilities that has quite a central position in the Jamie storyline. Or rather, a central position where he is moving. Which frankly is usually what sent visions does, to nudge you in the "right" direction/decisions. The Ghost of High Heart. Sure, we have no records of her sending visions to others but we do know she is connected to the Weirwood net and therefore could be able to use it in the same way as Bloodraven/future Bran. If this is the case it would also create a neat little bow to the coming Jamie/Brianne/Stoneheart show down. Stoneheart: "Jamie Lannister, I brought you here to answer for your crimes!" Ghost of HH: "Actually, I brought him her for my own reasons. So be a good girl and sit down."
1:21 THANK YOU!!!! I'm tired of people shitting on AFfC, it's my favorite book of the series. People just don't like it because it doesn't have Jon or Dany or Arya. But it is still the best book of the series (in my opinion)
Joanna loved Tywin and he loved her. "Only lady Joanna knew the man beneath the armour" and that is WHY she wanders if Jaime ever trully knew his own father or did he only saw the cold dutiful mask. Tywin never laughed except with Joanna and when she died he never remarried again altough that would be "politically wise" which again implies that Tywin is not all ice and politics but flesh and soul and even dreamer to a point. He dreams his son being a great knight and his daughter the Queen ( literally like a fairytale).
the first prophecy in the series is the dead direwolf with an antler in its throat. This omen foreshadows not only Ned's death but the eventual separation of the Stark children.
I think the vision really could have been sent by Joanna Lannister. There seems to be some sort of bardo or spirit world in ASOIAF, where spirits linger for a time after death before fading or passing on. Maybe Joanna's spirit is calling to Jaime as it passes out of the bardo.
@@QuinnTheGM Great choices, like you said in the video, David Chase and his crew always just knew how to do dreams. They always FEEL like dreams. The reason I pick the Gloria one is partly for that reason, there are so many strange cuts and moments that just make it so unsettling like a dream like that would be. And the song choice is the greatest I’ve ever heard in any show. I’m with you, The Sopranos is the greatest show of all time. Lol
Why didn't Tywin remarry? I mean I know his wife died and stuff but is it not his role and his duty to his legacy to what is needed to ensure its continuation?
Great Video as always, I have to disagree on AFFC being the best book though, whilst it is in my mind the second best to reread, the best book has to go to Storm, it‘s GRRM‘s masterpiece, though for me Dance is a close second
I like the thought Blood Raven sent the vision of his mother. I’m on the fence of it being Bran who sent the dream, as Bran (at least at this particular point of the books) does not remember it was Jamie who pushed him from the tower. Plus, Bran has never thought of Jamie in his POV chapters. I disagree it being Quathe as she seems very focused on Danny. Great video and discussion topic.
I feel like Jamie and Brienne fighting white walkers tips back to there roles as kings guards and they are defending the true kings lands who most likely is the true Azhor Ahai (most likey Jon Snow). If Jamie lets his past get to him and he falters he will truly not be a kingguard or knight like he always wanted. It really is a warning i think.
Has he been relieved of the title of Warden of the East? I know Robert gave that to him in the first book, but has anybody bothered to give the title to someone who actually has anything to do with the east?
I love the second vison’s subtle implication that Jamie and Cersi aren't Tywin's Biological children, by having Jamie’s Mom say what Tywin wanted "His son and his daughter" to achieve and implying it didn’t come to pass, where if J and C were his kids it would clearly have.
I am not entirely convinced that the Men with Helmets are Unsullied or of any significance. After all the most common Weapon in this sort of time Period is a Spear, a weapon that even a poor peasant levy can easily obtain. As for the Helmet, that too is not very distinctive since the one Piece of Armor that even an ill equipped Levy usually gets is a Helmet.
Cersei made feast so hard to get through and its harder after watching the show she's truly an immersion breaker but i think also the show is a big part of what makes me feel like that
The first of those dreams happen in aSoS, not in aFfC. After having that dream he decides to go back and save Brienne from the bear and the brave companions
I think it is a dream. He came into the world holding her foot with the hand that is now lost. The stump showing up in his dream with the memory of his mom asking if he really is a knight is what makes Jamie finally let go of Cersei. Acceptance
i will soon start to read the books, but at 9:39, jaime's chapter, i feel is his mother, am i wrong to believe that ? and i see so many people talking about the books, i loved the show, and i still do, even the first part of the last season, but what happend to dany si to far for me, i feel that i am a lucky guy that i get to read them for the first time now haha(i'm here after the end of the video and i feel great about Joanna's prediction hahah)
Jaime as Azor Ahai would make the most sense. George R.R. Martin likes to complete thematic circles. Jaime as both Kingslayer and Queenslayer, if he kills Cersei. Breaks his oath as Kingsguard to marry Brienne. Brienne sacrificing herself for Jaime to kill her and fulfill the prophecy (so also a wife killer). Such a sad and tragic path for Jaime, but what the Kingdom needs, and Jaime is a character that would do just that. Breaking all vows of honor in order to save the people. Honor is a virtue, but to what end? To protect the King or Queen, or the people?
*The end of Jaime's last chapter in A Feast for Crows is one of the best moments for me.
“During the fourth, and best book” you got that damn right
I like the free roam chapters in cracklaw point etc. with Brienne , Pod, and Biter Rorge. And it left of at one of the most exciting cliff hangers
You are my favorite asoiaf content creator right now. Please keep it up :’)
Jaime’s dream in the bowels of Casterly took place in ASoS snot AFFC
He meant that Jamie was in kings landing when Ned fought at the tower of joy not when he had the vision
*Your videos are amazing and make me even more excited about the ASOIF story, the only problem is that we will probably never read The Winds of Winter.*
*I feel like GRRM has created so many things and stories in a huge world and now he doesn't know how to finish his story anymore.*
I have always wondered who was the voice that helped Arya cross the yard to escape kings landing!
“Bloodraven did it” usually works for me. Helps me ignore time-traveling bran. Also love David Lightbringer’s idea about Quaithe and Bloodraven are working towards the same goal w/o knowing it. Ice and fire parallels ya know
Lightbringer may be the most knowledgeable person about ASOIAF outside of Martin.
Time travelling Bran is real
If you ever wondered what role Jaime played in the Spanish Civil War than just google Jaime 1.
Would love to hear you talk about Tyrion's dream after Blackwater.
Looking forward to your next video!
Banger video as always.
Good looks!
It’s pronounced like “beer” 😂😅
Stoneheart, being a dead Cat, is partially from the weirwood net.
Bro you like sopranos ? Been watching your ASOIAF content for months, but now you telling me you like sopranos ? You earned a subscriber my friend.
quinn the goat master back again
greatest of all time!
Stoneheart: "Jamie Lannister, I brought you here to answer for your crimes!"
Ghost of HH: "Actually, I brought him her for my own reasons. So be a good girl and sit down."
1:21 THANK YOU!!!! I'm tired of people shitting on AFfC, it's my favorite book of the series. People just don't like it because it doesn't have Jon or Dany or Arya. But it is still the best book of the series (in my opinion)
Really loving these videos and watching the channel grow
I'm new to your channel, and AFFC is my favorite of the books so far. I think I'm going to like this channel.
I think that dream happened in A Storm of Swords, not in feast since it happens during his return to kingslanding
Feast in that Lord's chamber in Riverrun
"... the fourth and best book..." I knew I liked this channel.
Come for the theories, stay for the Bruce Springsteen and ELO references.
The 5th book is my favorite personally
Valid. It’s very hit or miss for me, but it contains a bunch of my favorite chapters in the series.
The vision source is Alys Rivers! Not being completely serious, but weirwood vision and mom dreams are something we have seen her do
I like the art work in you videos
Jaime has a big role to play and he's one of my favorite characters, I hope stoneheart doesn't get killed by him, she's such a great character
5:45
I've also heard that she may have shouted something to let LS know that Arya is alive
YOU LIKIN' THE JACKET, TONE?!
He took it off Ser Rocco of house Demayo.
“Feast is the best book”
Amen brother
the first prophecy in the series is the dead direwolf with an antler in its throat. This omen foreshadows not only Ned's death but the eventual separation of the Stark children.
Never expected a Springsteen reference in a video about Jaime Lannister
Why wouldn't there be a portrait of Johana in Casterly Rock?
I think the vision really could have been sent by Joanna Lannister. There seems to be some sort of bardo or spirit world in ASOIAF, where spirits linger for a time after death before fading or passing on. Maybe Joanna's spirit is calling to Jaime as it passes out of the bardo.
What’s your favorite Sopranos dream sequence? Mine is easily the Gloria one from “Everybody Hurts”.
Funhouse is hard to top but I love his nightmare of Livia at the top of the stairs late in season 4.
Lol
I don't *think* you've done this already but I would love to see you do a video on Quaithe
Can we call these “Lion Dreams”?
Why didn't Tywin remarry? I mean I know his wife died and stuff but is it not his role and his duty to his legacy to what is needed to ensure its continuation?
He really should’ve remarried.
Dude i didnt catch how jaimes vision with his mom happened when he was eesting on under a weirwood. That adds so much
Great Video as always, I have to disagree on AFFC being the best book though, whilst it is in my mind the second best to reread, the best book has to go to Storm, it‘s GRRM‘s masterpiece, though for me Dance is a close second
A hug from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
More of these please :)
Feast for Crows is my favorite book
Feast was definitely my least favorite when I first read the series, but everytime I re-read it I just appreciate it more and more
I feel like Jamie and Brienne fighting white walkers tips back to there roles as kings guards and they are defending the true kings lands who most likely is the true Azhor Ahai (most likey Jon Snow). If Jamie lets his past get to him and he falters he will truly not be a kingguard or knight like he always wanted. It really is a warning i think.
This is the best book. I hear that and I think “am I home?”
Jamie would have a decent warden of the west, not a unnecessarily cruel nature, he's pretty happy go lucky type
Agreed, I think he’d do well!
Has he been relieved of the title of Warden of the East? I know Robert gave that to him in the first book, but has anybody bothered to give the title to someone who actually has anything to do with the east?
You should do a video on Theon’s dreams.
I love the second vison’s subtle implication that Jamie and Cersi aren't Tywin's Biological children, by having Jamie’s Mom say what Tywin wanted "His son and his daughter" to achieve and implying it didn’t come to pass, where if J and C were his kids it would clearly have.
Then who id the dad?
@@MultiAnikan Posibaly the mad king.
The first dream happened in aSoS...
I was gonna say! Otherwise, though, this is a very neat video.
Yup. He's on his way to KL with the boltons and the dream convinces him to go back to harrenhal and save brienne from vargo hoat
The dream is from book 3, a Storm of Swords, not book 4. Chapter 44 to be exact.
Got you with the like and comment 👍
Great video
This dream clearly implicates cersei and jaimie are not tywins.
That confirms he's the mad king son then. No one other than targaryens in all George works are mentioned to have prophetic dreams.
Time traveling Bran back at it again
Kingslayer!
dope vid
Is he being sent visions or is he merely tapping into the root network of memories and memories about his life are easier to receive? 🤷🏼
Sopranos is indeed the best show of all time
Cersei made feast so hard to get through and its harder after watching the show she's truly an immersion breaker but i think also the show is a big part of what makes me feel like that
The first of those dreams happen in aSoS, not in aFfC. After having that dream he decides to go back and save Brienne from the bear and the brave companions
Algormancy!
🧙🏼♂️
They said, cowled robes, not helmets. There’s a little bit of a difference.
God I wish they did Sopranos style dreams in the GOT show
4th and best book?
Watchu mean, Quinn?
AFFC Rules!
The 3 eyes crow is the Great Other. Imo.
Bloodraven doesn’t send visions to Bran. His visions stop when he crosses the wall.
That’s why I say it’s from the Three-Eyed Crow, whoever that is.
@@QuinnTheGM Sweet. ’Cos Bloodraven didn’t recognise the name. That always infuriates me, when people mix that up.
I'm mean Dance is clearly the best but as there the same book ...
IT'S GOTTA BE QUAITHE!
It is definitely his mother! However I don’t think she’s the source of this vision overall.
Jaime being azor ahai does not make sense. His journey is his honor and his redemption through. it
Love him or hate him, Jaime has got some fire dreams 🔥 💯
The Weirwood dream is in a storm of swords
JOANNA LIVES! 🎉
