Really appreciate you guys keeping the community so updated on the development of this pan. I can’t wait to get my hands on one once full production starts. I’d love to say I’d offer to test out a pre-production unit but I don’t do nearly enough trackdays a year to be worthwhile and don’t even have an oil pressure data logger yet, haha.
Thank you for your continued effort and R&D on this platform. Eagerly awaiting the production run of this product. I think I speak for everyone in the community when I say I don't mind waiting longer for a product that has been thoroughly tested and you have acquired all data necessary to feel confident in the final product you bring to market.
Thank you guys for taking the time and effort to put out a quality solution to the biggest problem this platform has regarding hard driving. I'm very excited to buy one once they are ready for full production!!! :D
Once the design is finalized, you should consider offering an option with an oil return pipe welded for people running a turbo. Regardless, would be great to have a data-proven solution to the oiling issues.
Looks good, thanks the work and the updates. Should be nice to alter it a bit so it fits jdl uel, looks to be lots of space everywhere else with this header.
Will you guys be looking into your oil pan fitting on equal length headers? Also, love the work you're doing. I recently sold my 2019 Mazda Miata and I was running a bunch of Verus parts. I hope I can get more Verus parts on my 2024 GR86
Love it. Hoping this is the 'normal' level of upgrade that solves the issue without having to spend thousands for a scavenge setup. I only have a 23 WRX so can't help with testing. Good luck chaps!!
Nice work! From my experiences I would suggest a distance of the headers to non-machined casting surfaces of at least 5mm due to (casting-) tolerances and heat expansion.
Bro, you MUST get the Spacemouse Pro. The extra buttons might not seem important but I assure you, you will find uses for them. Plus, the rotation lock button and the alt/shift/ctrl/escape buttons get used all the time. You do this for a living. It's worth having. Beautiful modeling, btw.
Thanks for the update! Sad to see the JDL UEL "just" doesn't fit at this time. Hope to see / hear more updates and I am all in for a production unit (although I will be running UELs).
The JDL UEL could work with slight massaging of the runner that contacts. A couple taps with a large rubber mallet should do it. It is very close to working though.
@@VerusEngineeringJust curious about JDL EL header, I’m running that instead of UEL. From the look of the UEL scan, I believe there should be plenty of clearance for EL version 🤞🏿🙈
Can't wait for this! Is there a way to put a deposit down to "reserve" an oil pan? (kinda like how toyota did with the GR86 lol) I would volunteer to provide data, but I'm in the same region as 900BRZ and a few other people who are already testing so I feel it would be redundant
No plans for a gen 1 currently. After we release the new gen pan, if we see increased interest from the older platforms, it's something we could look into at a later date.
When will this be available to public? Also since we are removing the heatshield, is there a way to wrap it in something that protects it from the heat? Thank you in advance!
We currently do not have any sort of ETA to offer. However, email us at sales@verus-engineering.com and we can add you to the email list for updates on the pan. The pan itself will come with gold foil to assist with heat soak from the header.
No ETA as of yet. However, if you are not on our email list for updates, I highly advise emailing us so that we can get you added to the email list for updates regarding the pan.
If im understanding correctly, isnt the oil pan(edit: the one your guys are making) much larger than it needs to be? Doesnt the oil pan just need to be about 0.5L larger than the stock oil pan to eliminate oil starvation entirely? I see mainly benefits to make the pan smaller(the one you guys are making) so that the stock heatshield can be kept, reduce costs, and it would fit all aftermarket exhausts thus expanding your customer base to all GRZ owners with their various exhaust setups, and make installation easier.
No, it is not larger than it needs to be. We would not advise making a smaller pan. People are already overfilling the pans to help with the oil starvation issues.
@@VerusEngineering edit: sorry, I just realised that I think you might have misread the comment. I was referring to this pan you guys are making. Isn't 1.3L extra too large? I know the stock oil pan is too small but why cant the pan you guys are making be 0.5L(or 0.8L just in case) larger than stock instead? Original comment: hmm.. what is the minimum threshold size needed of the pan to eliminate the oil starvation issue? Has that been measured out/tested?
Dunno why I never thought of this but as a CAD technician myself (in AEC though), what software are you using to bring in the 3D scan data and design the aftermarket parts?
Is there a big difference in the pan for the 1st generation and the second.? Would it be possible to fit on on the first gen if the header clears like an Ace 350 equal length
Awesome update and love that you guys are showing some insights into the process. The JDL looks like it will fit with very minor tweaks!
Just a couple tap taps on the runner and it should work.
Thank you all at the Verus team for the continued updates!!
Of course!

Happy to see the hks header fits. Respect to everyone helped the dev🫡
Unfortunately, we have not confirmed fitment with an HKS header. We have confirmed fitment with the HKS turbo kit though.
Very cool you guys are doing this. The pre-production pan is a nice-looking thing.

It can probably be done by massaging the runner slightly on the header. It's very close to fitting.
