    In this video i will cover the methods and materials i used to make some of my Iron Man Helmets have a magnetic removable faceplate!
    It's a cool little effect if motorizing just isn't your thing or maybe space is limited
    This method can also be used in a variety of other helmets and armour pieces! So get creative!

    I used magnets like that in my original pepakura Iron Man helmet 7 years ago, but i had to glue them in, line them up, etc. This is simply awesome how you use the rafts, heat them to better form the shape, weld them into the helmet, etc. Totally amazed (yet again) by your tutorial! Well done!!!!

    I've been using the neodymium magnets and I rough them up on one side with some sandpaper and use E6000 to glue them in and have good luck with that. of course I don't do 3D print but use EVA foam, so there's that.

      I’m sure there’s a way you could, with massive tweaking to the design. Currently, the servos connect the faceplate to the head in order to open it, so unless you did something where you put on the electronics and the magnets, undid the servos and then pulled it off, it probably wouldn’t work.

    • @3juliano680
      @3juliano680 3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @schmoobmcfroob2800

    Would it be practical to have this kind of helmet on a full suit? It would be pretty difficult to get enough grip on the faceplate to pull it off when you’re wearing the gauntlets I imagine, unless there’s another trick to it like even stronger magnets in the fingertips or something.
