    I SOOOO love this video !!
    In april, 2 years ago, just before that pandemic started, 2 colleeges found an old motorcycle helmet lying on the parking place. They laughed and wanted to throw that out, because it is not safe for driving. And then I went by, guess I came after some things needed for work. I said that NO WAY they will throw it out!! Wanted to make an Iron Man helmet out of it. Glued all the cracked places with epoxy + soda (makes a solid plastic), cleaned everything from stickers/scratches and then started to work. I am visually impaired, so I have no car or motorcycle, that's why - no garage. So I did everything at home and coloring - outside, guarding it from cats and gids and reading comics, while the color is drying. As I don't see well and had completely no experience, it took me 6 times to do end re-do the helmet coloring and like 5 times to re-do the visor. Re-doing wasn't easy, because the mistake was noticed after making holes in visor and attaching those LED eyes showed in the video. Waited them from UK for 2 weeks (I'm from Latvia)! Noone wanted to help me with advices, except one friend, who lives far away, that's why everything was done by watching TH-cam. So, I took my helmet 300 km from here and asked my dad, why the color makes the small dots every time, and then he said that I won't ever succeed and make it look perfect because the helmet itself is not... So he convinced me to leave it there and now I'm sooo sad :( He said I should collect money for a new helmet :(
    Now started to make a cosplay Winter Soldier arm from EVA foam. Hoping to get experience and make a whole Iron Man suit in the future :) So, if there is a givaway and you send the props worldwide, I woul like to participate!
    IronMan helmet pictures and process can be shared if someone is interested and can find me on Facebook

    Thanks

  • @dogewithchanga3326
    @dogewithchanga3326 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i wonder if you put in servos as well if it would work and turn off the leds Only concern I have for this is the magnets as you said it would release only by directly taking it off and I wonder if the servos move it direct enough to do so.

    Awesome video! This is probably a stupid question but, is it dangerous if the magnets are touching your head. Are you going to get shocked or something by touching your skin to the contacts?

    love your builds in the process of building a helmet .... quick question do you use just white for the eyes or are you using the light blue

  • @peebs2424
    @peebs2424 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you use this technique with your crashworks board, with the left & right led eyes having their own outputs? Electrically it would be fine joining them to one common point but you would lose individual control

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do! Just like you said I give up left/right control

    • @peebs2424
      @peebs2424 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FranklyBuilt perfect thanks.
      I guess you could use two smaller purse magnets on The one raft if you really wanted individual control.
      Only scenario I can think of is battle damage and coding one eye to flicker

    How much filament should one expect to use if we print a mask? Would a 1 kg spool be enough?

    • @FranklyBuilt
      @FranklyBuilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrSirFluffy one should be enough when starting. I remember using about 1 at first. Now I can get 1 helmets out f one roll. Make sure you watch my How to arrange 3D parts video about masks
