    For tall riders seat is irrelevant. Quoting it doesn't help. It's seat to peg and seat width.
    In fact, the peg to peg round trip is the measurement that matters and I wish it could be stated for all bikes.

    An issue that wasn't covered in the video is that taller riders very well may be heavier too. Which means that the stock suspension on a bike may be too soft and underdamped for the weight of the rider. I had this issue with my MT-09 (SP not available in the US at the time I bought it), which I corrected by having much better components and springs matched to my weight installed.
    6'5" / 1.95m, 36" / 91.5 cm inseam: I ride a Kawasaki Versys 1000, and a Yamaha MT-09 with factory comfort seat, which is about an inch / 2.5 cm taller than stock.

    Been riding sport bikes for 30+years, I switched to hyper nakeds over the passed few years because they are SO good now. No regrets... 6'4", 230lbs, streetfighter v4s and Super Duke R -- I still whooop 99% of the kids on these filthy streets.

    Adventure sports my arse. If you are tall, stay fit and slim and you can ride anything you want. I'm 6ft 3in and own a 2016 GSXR1000, 2011 VFR1200F and a 2018 NC750S. No trouble with any of them. I might look a bit odd on the NC, but I'm way past the point of caring.

  • @44clev
    @44clev 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    At 6'5" I have to be very careful about what to ride. ADV bikes work if you're supple enough.
    I rode 1200GS for 12 years with high suspension and built up seat.
    But once you pass 60 it's hard to dismount after a long ride.
    My answer has been feet forward. Seat height is irrelevant.
    Currently it's a Triumph Thunderbird 1700, but maybe a Rocket 3 GT would be better.
    Just budget for lots of expensive rear tyres.
    Having said that I'm going up the Himalayas next week on an Enfield Bullet.
    Horses for courses.

    6'4" tall, 200 lbs, 36" inseam; Suzuki V-Strom 650 with lowered pegs, reshaped seat, bar risers, taller windscreen; not the most comfortable ride, but bearable 250 miles continuous riding sessions; not looking like a bear on a tricycle; good enough for a small(ish) budget.

    Good video. Though there's several other great options too. (which obviously you can't all include or the video would be an hour long).
    I'm 6'4", and perhaps surprisingly, find the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx to be extremely comfortable. Conversely, my wife is 5'2" and loves her Kawasaki Vulcan S, especially with its Ergo-Fit adjustable controls.

  • @Honourable66

    For tall riders this vid is completely useless, the tall rider need to know the seat to peg height, not how tall the seat height is.

  • @urbanadventurer5
    @urbanadventurer5 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I sat on the KTM 390 Adventure and felt pretty comfortable at 5’6”. The RE Himalayan also felt really good. The bike that felt the best in the adventure segment to me as a short rider though was the new Tiger 900 GT Low. I was pretty much flat footing with both feet, which was such a nice experience. You give up a little suspension travel, but how much of that do riders really use regularly? On the flip side, you acquire the ability to dab a foot in technical off camber sections like a taller rider and to comfortably put feet down at every single stoplight.

    Speaking from a 35 inch inseam perspective, it's never overall height that matters, this is a misconception of the truth, what matters is the distance between the seat height and the foot pegs. If you have very long legs you will get cramp with a low seat height.

    Useless video for tall riders. Seat height is irrelevant. Seat to pegs is what matters. The KTM 1290 SAR is one of the most cramped of the large adventure bikes. Visordown needs to get some truly tall riders to make a proper review.

Can you handle a motorcycle with 100 hp if you can that’s the bike for 15,000 reverse 7000 in second place raise for tall people of power dependable and that would be number one for me me verse 1000cc. 220 hp is way more then enough
