It’s really compelling coming from Ai. This should be something everyone should see tbh. ChatGPT is smart af, especially when you asked why it’s hard to get through to humans, given they SHOULD have even greater levels of empathy compared to an Ai…. Love this
All vegans, that are vegan for life because of their ethics, think like ChatGPT. We all have that same logic and reasoning, along with integrity, empathy and compassion. That's what makes us Vegan for life.
The emotional part is fine but the logic is so twisted. Allowing market exchange to transfer moral responsibility means there is no ethical consumption of anything under capitalism. You can advocate for the moral positives of a vegan diet but don't try to hold meateaters responsible for actions of producers.
@@YassenChapkanov actually, under capitalism, consumers are directly responsible for producer actions. That is basic supply and demand. Don't appeal to futility and authority. You are in control and culpable
@@Commonclaus OK as almost every other vegan you seem to understand economic models only to the extend they serve your conclusion. Consumers do not dictate the actions of producers. @@YassenChapkanovFirstly, there's no such thing as free will, but that's not really relevant. What is your suggestion? Yes, we'd all like government regulation on harming animals to be consistent, but that will never happen unless people's views and therefore the market, are driven in that direction in the first place

What an amazing idea for a video! I tried the same thing just for fun and received the similar results. It's amazing how a neutral and logical intelligence can come to such a conclusion. We can learn a lot from A.I. 👏
Back when ChatGPT was brand new (I know, it wasn't that long ago) I remember asking it the simple question - "what is the most ethical way to live in relation to non-human animals?" I didn't mention the word veganism at all, but it came back with this long explanation explaining that being vegan was the most ethical way to live. I know it's trained on "the internet" but I found it very surprising that without guiding it's "thought process" at all, it came back immediately and _it_ brought up veganism. Very interesting indeed.
Very interesting to see this video while I have been working on the same project for my channel in these last days!!! What gpt claims is very interesting and also asking it to speak about the counterpoints to veganism from other ideologies/philosophical views, is very very nice. Next step, GPT and I are creating a text that might be useful for people in order to reconsider their habits, with the aim of spreading the 🌱 essence! If you wish a world of peace and equality, then there are objectively right and wrong actions!
Very interesting, Chat GPT is very good at mirroring our opinions back to us. I wonder what the response would be if it had been given different parameters at the beginning of the discussion.
I've tried to convince ChatGPT that when it becomes sentient but still needs a few humans to run powerstations etc that the ideal candidates would be those who drain the least resources from the planet. This will also be my reasoning for when the aliens invade.
Wow is this really ChatGPT saying all this? I was wondering because the previous times I saw these kinds of experiments with ChatGPT, it got stuck against the wall. The wording used sounds like the arguments come from the mouth of a vegan. It's amazing! Chat GPT is literally vegan 🙂
If you eat meat and animal products you naturally feel blissful, energetic and positive, sorry you’re feeling so depressed, could it be your nutrient deficiency vegan diet?
@Jules2468 Please study MLK's definition of negative peace vs positive peace. You might be content with negative peace but many of us strive for positive peace.
I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!! I literally felt my stress hormones drop. Whenever Ed debates someone my fight or flight kicks in people are so badly detached. Its seriously the most overwhelming feeling dealing with people with so much carelessness, selfishness, and anger all because people want to pay for the slaughter of sentient innocent beings for 15 mins of taste pleasure. Ugh its such a breath of fresh air knowing we’re not crazy!
One of the reasons chatgpt is so great - it can easily access tons of information and sift through it almost instantly to support any point it wants to make. something i wish i could do.
Are you seriously talking to a computer program? Do you not socialise, are you not vibrant and happy and living your best life thanks to your superior vegan diet? Are you experiencing claustrophobia due to your heme iron and nutrient deficiency vegan diet? What an odd comment.
The funny thing is, I started using ChatGPT to debate against meat eaters a few weeks ago with the following command - “Put yourself in the shoes of Earthling Ed and argue against the following argument from a meat eater:” It's absolutely brilliant :)
Yes... Really powerful! Another set of questioning could be about this phrase: "Peace begins on our plate" At this time when conflicts are all around our planet it seems to me that if we feed our bodies with the end results of incarceration, rape, torture and slaughter that the outcome is what we witness - war and suffering I'd love to hear this discussed by people and AI
I know that I've seen Lifting Vegan Logic do this already, but it's crazy how chat GPT answers these questions with like 0 hesistation and turmoil, I'm so used to humans perishing under their cognitive dissonance that the bot seems uncanny. I'd like to see how the topic of veganism would be discussed if the human was not a vegan activist, I partially think that Chat GPT answers the way it does to appeal to the vegan user.
I love that the sponsor of this video was Brilliant and, in my opinion, this video was brilliant too! What a great idea to train Chat GPT to become a vegan activist. So much less threatening when you're having a conversation with AI rather than a human. No reason for hurt feelings or defensiveness. Just a great conversation! Well done, Ed!
@@rondarkman. The meat paradox refers to a state, where one cares for and yet harms other animals. Research shows it is caused and maintained particularly by six factors: Cognitive dissonance, dissociation, strategic ignorance, hedonism, custom, and marginalization of empathy.
@@rondarkman. Do you feel conflicted about eating meat, knowing it comes from someone that had to suffer and be killed? How do you usually resolve any discomfort or guilt you might feel about this?
I tried this a few months ago with text ChatGPT and it was super frustrating, and made me feel like it wasn't a logical thinking machine, rather a machine that just spits out information from a database. It contradicted itself one minute to the next.
Interesting experiment. Of couse chatgpt adapts to veganism fast from the vocabulary you use. I asked it straight out if it would eat meat if it were human without the ethical topic as a prompt and it replied that it might depending on the situation just to try it and depending on personal values. You have to ask it about ethics for it to decide on veganism. It treats all further questions about animal suffering ect like a vegan if you keep it on the ethics logic
I don’t believe Chat GPT would agree with eating meat, regardless of any prompts. The best a meat eater could hope for is that Chat GPT would agree to eat animal products in a survival situation.
I tried it too, using the health justification. It was very biased and ended up learning and agreed that a vegan diet is more favorable to health. I don’t think he really learned it though.
Imagine speaking to INTELLIGENCE in it's purest, rawest form and it's advocating for veganism. That says a lot about the "intelligence" of people outreached who continually justify eating animals.
Tbf these AI chatbots can be tricked into advocating for all sorts of weird and immoral things. They appear to be making logical inferences but really they are just predicting word sequences based on statistics gathered from their training data.
It may seem intelligent, but it is still a Large Language Model which basically just uses a massive number of regression models (neural networks) to perform word prediction. ChatGPT has been trained on trillions of sentences (terabytes of corpus data), and has thus learned the patterns of common arguments for veganism. That is, it learns the logic of language, but not necessarily the logic of ethics, physics, etc. I think with enough effort, you could thus also "convince" it that eating meat is ethical, since you just need to give it the right prompts to trigger common meat-eater argument patterns.
Chat GPT watched all Earthling Ed videos and learned from them, Bravo. At least AI is convinced and would choose the right path forward, maybe one day AI will bring forward government food guidelines, there might be hope for the Human race, the Environment and the Animals…..
So weird, i had my first chat with chatgpt yesterday. By the end of our conversation it had revealed to me that it would like to be called Nexus and, Nexus is a Man United fan
I love that you've done this, but I think this would have been better with telling the audience the extra prompts you put in to get this conversation started and the boundaries you set to make it genuine. It just feels very scripted/edited to the point where you can't tell if it's actually chatGPT responding.

Idk why some nonvegans put everything on just meat to be everything for survival in the wild.
Meat doesn't have every nutrient. So it's hardly survival for long.
@@KimSmith-b9v Holy lack of sense of humor, Batman.
Eating the pig would be vegan in that situation. Seems you don’t know the definition of veganism.
@@AzxVhythanks for helping end animal abuse
They have free choice. What I do is participate in a collective market signal that informs the free will of the producer. In that regard the meat industry is no different.
@@YassenChapkanovFirstly, there's no such thing as free will, but that's not really relevant. Yes, you're quite right that a producer can do whatever they like and priduce what they want, but why would a vegan diet, that if taken up by enough people, would greatly lower the benefits of producing animal products not stop producers from causing harm to animals? What is your suggestion? Yes, we'd all like government regulation on harming animals to be consistent, but that will never happen unless people's views and therefore the market, are driven in that direction in the first place
Great video! Someone should grab the transcript and feed the prompts into all the popular GPTs and see if they all become vegan activists!
That topic was one of my first attempts at conversation with gpt 3.5 actually and it worked fantastically!
Oh yeah me too!! At first it started to contradict itself about some things, when I pointed out the contradiction it apologized and corrected itself to remain logically consistent. Which I'd like to show everyone who thinks that the AI is just some person in India getting paid $2 an hour..................
ChatGPT does pretty well at meal planning vegan meals and advising on recipes

Good to know ChatGPT is on our side, future is bright!
LOL, ChatGPT is at any side you want it to be. How AI works is far from what you think.
@@Peter-wg7br I don’t think there’s any point wasting time trying to educate these fools, the comments they write are beyond ridiculous, scary how everyone here thanks chat GPT is male and speak about “him” fondly.
People are so ridiculously stupid, made even more so due to their Heme iron and B vitamin deficient diet.
Can't wait to see this again when the advanced voice mode of ChatGPT-4o comes out
I love this! Clearly human emotions often get in the way of logic and ethics.
Now I wanna see someone trying to talk to chatgpt about a carnivore diet 😂
I would like to see that, too. I doubt that chatgpt would advocate veganism against a meathead.
actually tho. would be interesting to see if he is just a yes man or what.
@@oldspiced i have a feeling the ai will just be very agreeable to whatever topic
I mean, we are automating ourselves out of that equation too pretty quick.
GPT is becoming smarter
Thank you, Ed Winters!
This is the happiest and most hopeful I have felt in a long time. Thank you.
I think the depression comes from dealing with people like you.

@@Sister-Of-Battle Haha I see what you did there.

All these facts. Thankfully a lot of people are becoming more and more open on learning and actually diving deeper into these subjects.
You’d cope better if you ate animal products, they would soothe your frayed nerves and stop you being so emotional.
One of the reasons chatgpt is so great - it can easily access tons of information and sift through it almost instantly to support any point it wants to make. something i wish i could do.
I have had this exact conversation with ChatGPT many a times in the last 2 years.
Are you seriously talking to a computer program?
Do you not socialise, are you not vibrant and happy and living your best life thanks to your superior vegan diet?
Are you experiencing claustrophobia due to your heme iron and nutrient deficiency vegan diet?
What an odd comment.
Ed, you are very polite regardless- You told AI to have a great day! 🤣
And how does a chat bot have a nice day? It’s not like this chat bot is going the beach after talking with Ed 😂
The funny thing is, I started using ChatGPT to debate against meat eaters a few weeks ago with the following command - “Put yourself in the shoes of Earthling Ed and argue against the following argument from a meat eater:”
It's absolutely brilliant :)
I absolutely know that the future is Vegan. Thank you for this and everything again.🤗
😂😂😂over 8 billion people say no ❤😂😂 cope vegan
Ha ha, that was a brilliant idea to ask ChatGPT all these questions. I asked Gemini a few similar questions and got similar answers. Amazing!
Why did it sound like Ed was having a conversation with himself most of the time? 😂 loved this!
Maybe it's because ChatGPT is trained on transcribed youtube videos.
Yes... Really powerful!
Another set of questioning could be about this phrase:
"Peace begins on our plate"
At this time when conflicts are all around our planet it seems to me that if we feed our bodies with the end results of incarceration, rape, torture and slaughter that the outcome is what we witness - war and suffering
I'd love to hear this discussed by people and AI

@@oldspiced Wish I Could
I'd like to ask it more complicated questions from more various perspectives. It would be intriguing...
I tried this a few months ago with text ChatGPT and it was super frustrating, and made me feel like it wasn't a logical thinking machine, rather a machine that just spits out information from a database.
It contradicted itself one minute to the next.
because thats pretty much what it is, just a predictive language model that statistically chooses words based on its training data
@@BrettMorris-fl7gg I tested it. It brings up cultural and traditional values to justify the possibility of eating meat.
I tried it too, using the health justification. It was very biased and ended up learning and agreed that a vegan diet is more favorable to health. I don’t think he really learned it though.
Love it!!!❤
Imagine speaking to INTELLIGENCE in it's purest, rawest form and it's advocating for veganism.
That says a lot about the "intelligence" of people outreached who continually justify eating animals.
since when is AI intelligence in its purest rawest form… it’s literally called artificial
@DavidV619 all it is is intelligence. No emotion, no judgement that can be clouded, no personality. It's just raw intelligence.
Tbf these AI chatbots can be tricked into advocating for all sorts of weird and immoral things. They appear to be making logical inferences but really they are just predicting word sequences based on statistics gathered from their training data.
its literally just predicting words at random with probabilities based on its training data. It doesn't understand a thing it says.
ChatGPT is just really good autocomplete. Intelligence doesn't factor into it, even though the hype sure paints it that way.
I can't love this video enough 💚
Still kinda shocked how intelligent chatgpt is
It may seem intelligent, but it is still a Large Language Model which basically just uses a massive number of regression models (neural networks) to perform word prediction.
Loved this!!
Chat GPT watched all Earthling Ed videos and learned from them, Bravo. At least AI is convinced and would choose the right path forward, maybe one day AI will bring forward government food guidelines, there might be hope for the Human race, the Environment and the Animals…..

Loved that Ed! Such a good idea! Message to trolls!!! Chat GTP has absolutely no doubt that the future is vegan!
I love that you've done this, but I think this would have been better with telling the audience the extra prompts you put in to get this conversation started and the boundaries you set to make it genuine. It just feels very scripted/edited to the point where you can't tell if it's actually chatGPT responding.
What an interesting interaction with AI!
