It truly is a testament when we treat our household managers with respect and dignity. We lost our Rosie a few years ago. She raised me and my siblings and was with us for over 30 years. When she passed the world stopped for us. They are gems. It’s a blessing when you find one who is like family.
I nominate our DM , She's been with us for 8 years now and she's raised my brothers and I at some point. When she's on off aki we suffer so much wololo and that's when you realise you actually need to appreciate her. she is the sole provider of her extended family and she has become such a significant part of the family I don't remember how it was without her . She is amazing and I'm sure this award will boost and help her so much. She also keeps telling me how her child is soon joining secondary school and how she hopes she will be able to afford her fees. She is veronica...but popularly "vero".
Thank you for bringing us in like this ❤ Procrastination increases when you're in such a headspace, infact I feel like your head space really determines your productivity levels. I feel you and this video on a spiritual level 😭 That depressive funk is surreal and it gets sincerely overwhelming. Practical tips I'm using to help me do life despite my funk, is taking it a day and a moment at a time, focusing on just getting through this specific moment or 24hrs, day in day out, slowly by slowly, when I feel like I can't do it, I take a step back, take the day/morning off to catch my breath, it really helps. I'm patient with myself and I no longer force or over push myself, I listen to the queues of my body, mind and soul, if I feel like no this is too much, i'll put it on hold till I can do it again. I'm not putting limits or time frames on my healing because that really makes it worse, that thing of I should be better by now, why am I still like this, why is this still dragging on, I'm not harsh with myself, I treat and handle myself with loving kindness and lots of patience. I also plan my tasks ahead so I know what needs to be done and by when so I start doing it early and slowly in bits so that way I'm not overwhelmed and frying my brain doing 30tasks all due today, I just do them slowly over time amd I start early. And lastly, overall despite the pain, I’m curating a life that supports my wellbeing. And that looks like avoiding people, places and situations that make me uncomfortable, trigger anything negative in me like a memory or emotion and just doesn’t support or contribute positively to my wellbeing; emotionally, mentally, and all round And I’m doing only what I want and need. And these most times are normally positive and beneficial things things like eating right, saying no, doing things I love, art therapy, trying new things, self care etc And this has just been the no.1 thing I do and it's truly truly working/helping. Avoid all the places, situations and people that make you detrimentally uncomfortable and are sources of triggers for your pain, this will do wonders. As for social media addiction, what I do with mine is little things like switching off my phone for a few hours/day/s, not having WiFi/Data on all the time, switching off notifications on apps so im not bogged down with a million notifications from all the apps and they just crowd my mind, trying to use my phone at specific times, like I try to only respond to people once a day or twice; morning and evening, small things like that that can work for you. Also, I unfollow people/pages that I feel are not feeding positively to my life. So I only follow things I like and things that spark joy like pages on; poetry, spirituality, memes 😂 etc, just follow what you know will be positive for you and cut out the rest that's not serving you, honour your space. If you consume a lot of content on the tube, start changing what you consume, start watching/subscribing to pages/people talking about self improvement and growth in practical ways, relaxing/meditation music, just anything that'll contribute positively to your wellbeing, whatever that looks like for you, do it 💃 Keep going Patricia, you're soo brave and you're able ❤
I use the screen time app on my iPhone to monitor how much time I spend on social media. I set it to 3 hrs a day and once they are up those app shut down and I cannot use them until the next day. Knowing that I only have 3 hrs gets me to not waste time watching random videos
Wow when I saw u first on this is ess I was like wow I know her from somwhere(tpf) and thank heavens I found your channel, I love your energy, your voice just angellic!... I have learnt alot from your vlogs...keep doing you and sharing your journey with us💓 nothing but love and genuine support from my side😘
Praying for grace for you as you transition through everything. Be kind to yourself you've been through a lot and procrastinating might be your brains defense trying to cope with it all. It is like a stress relief of sorts and psychologists believe it is a way of dealing with stress albeit not productively. Try the 5 minute rule. Commit to doing one task for just five minutes. No more just five. As you do that the brain will desire to continue with the task and you'll end up working for longer say maybe even 30 minutes more. But it all starts with five minutes. Also Mel Robbins "5 second rule" is brilliant. Check out her talks here on YT. A day at a time tu. You've been through a lot and you're stronger than you know. Wishing you all the best. ❤ I'd love to nominate my DM for the Ariel award. She is called Mercy. She is a widow. When her husband died years ago, instead of going back to shags she started cleaning people's houses every day to take care of her five kids. She is the most hardworking woman I have ever met. She doesn't make excuses about life and will always work hard to make sure her kids have everything they need. Like she has put her kids through high school from cleaning. She goes beyond when doing her tasks, never complains and loves to help others with the little she has. Sometimes I'll come home and find (on top of cleaning) that she has cooked for me because she saw I didn't have any food in the fridge to eat when I got home. She's so caring of her clients. Mercy is my second mum. She is honestly the most amazing woman ever and I know this would go a long way in helping her and her family. Ariel are doing a noble thing, all DMs are heroes and deserve to be celebrated.
Oh Patricia you bless my heart with every video you post.. God really bless you.. I would love to nominate my Auntie Nyawira for the Ariel give away. She's been with us for 12years now and is more family than she is help. She has held our hands as a family through the Ups and downs life has had to share with us. I recently got married and my main concern was how my mummy was gonna be once I left home to go start my own but waaaaah! Auntie has become a sister to my mum and offered her friendship and understanding like no one else. It would be such a joy if she is recognized publicly and rewarded for the blessing and joy she is to us..
Pole sana for the struggle. This happens and understandable especially after all that happened the last few days; you shouldn't beat your self too much. What you need is an accountability person. Someone who you can trust and is strict with you with your goals and to do list like your domestic manager.
I nominate Linet, she's been my mums help for quiet sometime and because of the good job that she does , my aunt and I ended up having her help us out. She comes once in two weeks to do my laundry and my neighbors loved her so she practically cleans up after 3 of us and does the cleaning of the compound, what really got to me is that she now comes with the son who helps her with the cleaning of the compound, I wish for Ariel to help her elevate herself and her son because that boy should be in school and I can see her struggling.. That would be the best gift for such a super amazing help.
Patricia, your amazing. I hope and pray your life gets back to normalcy soon and you continue to do great and wonderful things. Please take time to take care of your self, please. Appreciate you and all you do. ❤️
Patricia, you are such a beautiful light. Every time I click on your videos, I relax completely. No lie. I calm down and feel hugged. Settled. Myself. Free. And an empath like me holds dearly to what helps me just be me. I dont know how to explain it. . Just know you are so so needed. And loved.
I was just telling someone the other day how I am such a good procastinator. Laundry has been piling up, videos that I need to shoot, cakes and catering gigs that I did but never posted photos, unfolded laundry and it feels overwhelming. So I decided I will start small and work my way through and take breaks when I need to. Looking back though, 2018 was tough and that's when it all started, I would have panic attacks in the middle of the night but right now it's definitely better. Learning not to look at the mountain as a whole but the little steps I need to take to conquer it.
Social media is a menace! I would tell you to stay away but I do know your work is part of it. I would recommend that you take breaks to be in your own reality. Also calenders and reminders are your friend! and yes go ahead and get an assistant, they will keep you accountable! Keep being amazing Patricia :)
My most favorite video ever from you Patricia. I love how real and vulnerable you are. I also love how you appreciate Hadija, we thank God for her being in your life. I wish you well in finding the assistance you so need.
I'd love to nominate our DM, Purity. She's the nicest and most hardworking human being out there. She has been with us for sooo many years and never had a complaint about her or her work. Her daughter has just joined form one and I'm sure rewarding her will go a long way in changing her life as a single mother with school children. She also serves as my udaku buddy so that's a definite plus. :)
Hey girl, I know what you mean with the procrastinating then feeling overwhelmed when you've not done anything you set out to do. I have been watching motivational speeches on youtube in the morning and it's been helping a load. I learned that the brain is designed to protect us that includes keeping us in our comfort zone so learning to make intentional decisions and watching and doing all those things we intend on getting done will help a lot. As for everything else, I for one appreciate watching the content of people living life cause life happens a lot. for me, blogging helps a lot to get things off my shoulders. If having a conversation with someone helps better, I would advise to talk it out. Also, I'm learning to stop doing things when I feel like it and to start doing things so that I can start feeling like it. If this helps, you're welcome. I hope it helps. ps, I used to wake up early and stay online looking at things and thinking about how I should be getting work done and would pata it's sijui noon and I have done nothing. anyway, try listening to motivational speeches in the morning.
You are an overly amazing person and I pray that you shall find help to get through all the things that unsettling you. Thanks for being vulnerable enough to share your truths with us. I hope you shall find the help you need. ❤
My mentor gave me some great tips 1. If it takes 5 (i use 10) minutes to complete, just do it. 2. Get into a routine. Even on the day you might not have much to do. Follow your routine. 3. Be strict. this ties int the first because if you get into a routine and you stick to it, you get the most out of it. Like enough sleep, your meal at the right time, etc and with that, things fall into place. 4. Write out everything you need to do for the day. Even if all you have to do is watch a whole season of a show. Get it out of your head and onto some paper to keep your head clear. I hope at least one of these helps you. Much love xx.
Thanks for sharing your story. Jackie has worked for me since 2008. I was in a very demanding job, she had my house spare key..she would let herself in, clean, tidy..she even trimmed overgrown tree from my compound, she climbed up there, I got babies and a live in help but I can't let Jackie go. She still comes once a week to iron my clothes and organize my space.. whatever Jackie touches, it sparkles. She is also my confidant.. yes, my help is almost my best friend.we are agemates hence we are at the same stage of life..our birthdays are one day apart. My kids light up whenever she walks in...she is a balm. I just love her
Hi Patricia. I'm so thankful for this video; I'm in exactly the same place, I have so much on my plate, I get panic attacks even thinking of where to start because it's just been so much and I couldn't even explain it to anyone. So definitely know that you're not alone and we'll conquer this wall one step at a time!!!
Hey 👋 Patricia, it is a season and you will overcome it and testify. The fact that you have realized kuna kasida and you are looking on how to solve it you will. Look at how far you have made it, if you would have asked your 20yr old that you would achieve all you have done I don’t think 💭 20year old you would agree. You Shall Overcome🤗🤗🤗 I want to appreciate my house manager and still nanny of my baby she is totally sold out and feel super blessed. She has gone through a lot n the way she Young. I believe I am the one to take her back to school but in the meantime the Ariel appreciation goes along way... Hope Clara gets it
Hi Patricia! I hope the Ariel nomination is still on. I normally don't comment but being a Jan baby, I also went through a wierd December/January. Like you, I am choosing to be optimistic going forward. My hubby works out of town so I have really relied on my nanny called Patricia since my baby was 3 months old until now (about a year later.) I travel a lot and I never lost sleep wondering whether my baby was Ok. In January, she was coming home from her day off and she got hit by a car!! It was a hit and run and they left her in Kenyatta and stole all her things! It was so sad to find her in the state she was in Kenyatta. She is doing better but has to be in the hospital for almost 2 months as gets surgery and her leg heals. She also wont be able to come to work for months after that. She is the sole breadwinner of 4 children and unfortunately her NHIF is not yet active as she only applied in January. I'll definitely do my part to help her but if Ariel could pay for part of her kid's school fees for a few months before she gets back on her feet, that would be an amazing opportunity and it would mean so much! Love your vlogs and wish you a great rest of the year xx
CONGRATULATIONS MIA! As Ariel celebrates their 10 year anniversary, they would like to award Patricia to guarantee her a good start this year. Kindly email me at patriciakihoro@gmail.com with your number, and details about her kids fees and how much it costs. Thank you!
@@misskihoro Wow thanks so much Patricia!!!this is bringing up happy tears!i'm so happy for her.much appreciated!i will def e-mail the details!thanks to Ariel too :-)
I nominate my former house girl and life friend Mueni. She was a rock to me for so many years and she is still a friend to me nearly 19 years on. She has been in my life since my eldest son was one and my eldest is 19 tomorrow, Gosh! I've got tears running down my cheeks. I remember when we were at the airport going to the UK, my two children were crying and asking why Mueni is not coming with us. Mueni was and is still one of us 19 years on ;she is one of the best and a real friend in my life and will always be one of us. I could write for hours but I best stop here. I love you Mueni and will forever treasure you.
Patricia much love. I am feeling you on this procrastination issue... Am struggling on it as well.Thank you for always been so real ,genuine.Your videos always motivating.I hope you get the help you need..blessings.
I actually love you Patricia and only wish you the best. Your content is fantastic, informative, funny and engaging. I'm really sorry about the theft; it's really horrible and nasty. I hope you find peace in all the nightmare; wishing you the best Patricia. xx
I'd like to nominate my nanny Joy who takes such good care of my 18 month old son! I just love how they laugh and play together! She's a mum of 3 who survived an abusive marriage when she finally found the courage to leave. I thank God for her every day, she has definitely made my life easier especially being a working mum. Thanks for the opportunity Patricia! Baraka tele!
You are so kind to your house manager. I love your vlogs Patricia they remind me am human yes I have been a procrastinator but am learning step by step
Our DM is called Jackie. I could say she is a blessing straight from heaven. In the midst of us having over 10 come and go nannies to cater to my niece, she is the only one who has stayed and loved her as her own. She is a Widowed mom to two lovely cjhildren but the way she extends herself has left me in awe. I pray everyday that somehow I can help her as she has helped us...Whenever I get some extra money I usually dish her out some for shopping for her kids etc, but I still feel there coulf be more I could do to help her elevate herself because she really deserves it. I am really crossing my fingers on this nomination...It wil be one of my greatest achievements in life. Having someone rise because they have genuinely helped and catered to the people around yo selflessly. Patricia!! Go you!! You are doing well and you keep winning. A few bumps on the road bt nothing you can't handle. You Got This!!!
I know it sounds so cliche but sending you lots of love and hugs. It may be really rough right now but give yourself time - feel all the emotions and let them out. That's how healing will come, things are replaceable, peace of mind takes a while to get back to, be kind to yourself and take the pressure off. ❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hey Patricia, this is one of those moments you just stop, STOP everything and know where you are just from looking where you started. The realisation of you struggling is a step and now you need to step the higher one since its moving forward. The trauma of your house being on a wreck is still fresh but just don't stay to long on that note as Janet Mbugua told you. We love you and support you all the way, hang in there and thanks for showing us this other side of social media personalities struggles par say. Much love to my dm who has been with us for like 9 years now, may Gods blessing be upon her.
I work from home and I totally relate. If you get help, share. Some days I wake up so psyched up, open the laptop to get shit done then I pick the phone, check social media, and keep checking for almost an hour. Then I move away from my work station cause now all the psyche is gone. The task I was to do in 30 minutes at 10 am will be completed at 3 pm.
Hi Patricia. Watching this after a long overwhelming day gave me life. It’s ok to be vulnerable. It’s ok to cry. It’s ok to bounce back. That said, I’d really like to appreciate my DM who has been with me for 6 years now and counting. She’s seen me through my highs and lows, runs a tight ship in my household as I work full time. Has taken care of my 3 children like her own, given wise counsel when I was on the verge of giving up, moulded by kids character and keeps my boat afloat. I really thank God for her and I would love to appreciate her for everything she does for my family and I. Thanks.
guuurl I feel you. my house also got robbed since then things have never been the same again. it changes how you view your own personal space and the feeling being there not so wanting. I have a song I always listen to especially when I wake up it really helps and put me in the right mood for the day.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED! The Ariel Campaign entries are closed and we are currently sifting through all the nominations. I shall be announcing the winners! 2 DMs shall win with their financial requests catered to, while another 5 shall win Ariel gift hampers. Meanwhile, with regards to the assistant position, I have HUNDREDS of emails to go through. Over 300 actually. Wow. Ha! I wish I had an assistant to help me go through the email applications for an assistant! 🤦🏾♀️ This will take some time but I will be narrowing down soon and responding very soon. Thank you for your interest in working with me. I appreciate it greatly!
Hey Patricia. I can help with emails. I also sent you mail...er, I see the irony in this. Let`s chat and help you get to inbox zero. My email is linahmacharia@gmail.com
I love this video. People really struggle to admit that they are struggling. You are doing well, these things do take time but the most important thing is to start somewhere. Everything else will align with time. Love and light.
Hi Patricia. I'd like to nominate my DM Rukiya. She is fantastic! She has not been with me for very long, but the few months that she has, there's been a lot of peace and order in my house. She is super responsible and even goes above and beyond her duties, one time she has even bought some essentials for my house when she found they were over and I was at work. That just floored me to be honest. I have had DM struggles from here to China - given I have 2 kids, But Rukiya, yes Lord! Please reward her. It would mean the world to us!
I love you Patricia. I don't wanna be a prophet of doom but i was concerned about the constant tiredness could be a sign of anaemia. It tends to make you feel weak and sleepy all the damn time. Get checked. All in all you are such a sweet soul and great inspiration. Stay blessed.
Hey Patricia I'm writing this even before you finish this video coz I can really relate! I went through this last year and I got really badly burnt out and that's something I wouldn't wish on anyone so I'm glad you have identified that you need help now. I'd just like to say first, don't be so hard on yourself. We all struggle especially if doing so many tasks by yourself. It's hard to be the one creating, marketing, doing accounts, setting up meetings, communication, etc etc. What I'd say is don't wait until you're really desperate to hire someone coz at that point you are just in a bad place and not so keen on who you're bringing on board. Do it as soon as you can so you take the time well. The other thing I'd say is try to take breaks more often. Waking up tired eventually really drains your energy. Lastly, write down all the tasks that you do, then clump them together as relevant "titles", say you can put setting up meetings, communication, emails as one clump of tasks. Then look for someone to run those tasks that you'd like to let go of. I learnt that it's better to hire people with the tasks you need done rather than a title coz then as you're looking, you know exactly what you're looking for. Best of luck!
I feel you. I have struggled with procrastination for so long, I have read all there is to read out there but unless something has a close deadline am going to push it .
Patriiicciiiaaaaa.... Am so glad u made this video... I also struggle with anxiety so much.... And procrastination... Man it's good to know it's not only me
You just described the phase I am in as well, yet we aren't even in the same space in life. This means there has to be a lot more people going through this. I am also in transition like you and sth that I started doing and it's working, is having sticky notes on my bed indicating the crucial tasks that I have to get done no matter what. Try it..
Hey babe I have one! I literally work on something for 5 minutes and then if I am not interested (which rarely happens) I stop and catch up on the next things! It's called the 5 minutes rule and It really works with me! In the meantime, the headwrap really looks bombs!
hey Patricia, I can relate to what you are feeling. By the way you lift me up, and am sending my love all the way from Ireland. I am still battling my procrastination especially now in my finals for my second degree. and this is what is helping me practically. * Be around positive and goal oriented people or environment. You need their energy to tick things off your list. * create a to do list and schedule more than 3 days ahead depending on the task. some tasks are more priority than others. * separate your daily work from your bigger tasks and goals. its very likely to start cooking and washing rather than getting other things done. * follow the 5 seconds rule. You might have heard Mel Robbins book, it is helpful since at this point you don't have motivation to do things, give yourself 5 second to get up and start once you think of it. * change your routine and environment, your mind gets creative and a new perspective. challenge your self and do new things. - But mostly understand what your feeling and why or where it may be coming from. I have learnt fear, pain, even too much joy or self confidence can cause my procrastination, as long as i have a reason to avoid more pain or committing before i fail. This helps you to use your self awareness to pick up solutions just for that. mediation is great for self awareness. Sorry this is alot, but i hope it is useful, am always happy to talk to and help those who ask for help in this area. #selflove
Am nominating Syombua, she's not a DM anymore but family. She's a super star and does alot for us. We have personalized 'services' in our house cause she knows what everyone needs. Syombua has spoiled us.
Not the usual entertaining videos but one of the most touching;you just being able to be vulnerable.Patricia,I see myself in you-all that procrastination and working when deadlines are on your face like ma!,being overwhelmed and feeling like you need a break from it all but you almost can't plug off especially with social media because things have to get going.Try to have a board where you have a to-do-list plus the grace of God is sufficient..keep on praying.
I believe when you admit your challenges you have a stepping stone to dealing with it. Thank you for sharing your experience, we also experience this, we should have this conversation more and help each other. My tip is don't beat your self too much about it, when your mind is procastinating it's trying to protect you from the feeling you get from what you are doing.
This was such an honest video. It's very easy to get soaked in the madness called life. I'm learning to respect my emotions. Meditation has helped, sometimes it spirals down to a lot of crying and it helps. I started this thing where I write a to do list then slot according to urgency. Ticking what I have accomplished makes me feel at ease and gives me some energy to hop on to the next task. I am learning not to beat myself up when I have days where I feel like I haven't done much. I also talk to myself A LOT! 😂 You are beautiful inside and out, you will get through it. Love and light ❤️
my college years was me avoiding my room when I needed to get things done. I mean, it helped being on a campus so libraries were right there, but I also like coffee shop vibes, so even now I like going to coffee shops with my laptop and get stuff done. It limits my ways to procrastinate (OMG I used to end up playing w my makeup, slowly removing the braids for the back of my head ati for length check :D woi, trying on shoes, name it). So yeah, removing yourself from distraction helps. Also I think just planning some small movement (like 3 or 4 yoga movements) in your morning sets the ball rolling. Kinda like having one thing done on your to-do list gives you psych to keep that energy (and the stretching helps you wake up). And schedule time to cry if you need to, wacha itoke. In whatever way you choose, release it
Acknowledging you have an issue and asking for help...thumbs up! Good luck on your search for your assistant..I nominate and reward my D.M..can't explain what she does for our family...i appreciate her MORE over the holidays when she's on leave...watcha tu! Love the Ariel empowerment!
Hey, this was a great video...I think you are making progress. Say for example you had set out to do videos more frequently and here we are.... Celebrate the little things... Don't be so hard on yourself dear, you are only human.
That head wrap gurrlll 💕 I am also struggling with time management so much but I believe we will overcome it. Please share the tips and tools that you will receive.
Woooow... I would love with all my heart to nominate our small mummy...our DM Consolata, she is one beautiful soul and a warm heart to be around.. she has been with us for over 10yrs... through loss of close family and held us by prayer and warm meals..stories...even did dances for us just to cheer us up. She is one selfless person and has a story behind her too. During the 2007 post elections violence, her husband was killed leaving her with 3kids, as if that was not enough, the man's family sent her out of the homestead basing it on the tribal lines that had been drawn. She had to go back to her mother's place and now takes care of the kids and mum all alone. What makes me emotional and want her to be appreciated even more is the fact that every time she calls abd asks her last born what he wants..he says "hot bread". I would love for her to gift them more than just hot bread, an education. A chance to see her kids more often. I could go on and on..but I will leave it at that.😊
Patricia, I wish you peace and calm during this tumultuous time. I can only imagine the trauma the break-in caused and I wish you all the best recalibrating the energy in your household and life. Regarding procrastination, I have a reward system that boosts my enthusiasm for my tasks. It's kinda like cheating but it helps. I deconstruct whatever big thing needs to be done into tiny little goals and then set time limits for these tiny goals. The time limits are incremental. The reward time increases as well, but the rewards themselves become fewer. This works well for me because my main issue is getting stuff started, but once the momentum has been gathered, I don't need to be incentivised as much. And the rewards can range from timed social media breaks to short walks to even meal breaks. This really helps me especially when I need self-motivation to write reports/articles. Finally, I'd really like to nominate my parents' domestic manager, Njeri Wanyoike. She's an amazing woman with a ginormous heart (and brain). She brings so much peace and order to the household, plus my pets are enchanted by her and they're a truly tough crowd! We've had many conversations about her life and aspirations and only the lack of opportunity prevents her from attaining them. I really hope she can win the Ariel nomination because she would achieve incredible things with their help and support.
Hey Many blessings to khadija She reminds me of our dm who is like our shosh in the house, martha She came to our place in 2010 and has been with us ever since.when she came I had just gotten chicken pox and thank God she did cause whe educated us on how to make eucalyptus treatment for it and in a day the pox had dried up scar free She is able to cnnect with everyone in the house from mum and dad to all of us siblings . Just being with us most of the year with her husband and kids at home, for me is just amazing, how she still keeps her house in order. I celebrate her .
Hey Patricia, I remember there's a video you did and you said "there's no situation that is permanent and at some point it shall pass" So even this too shall pass and you will restore it all girl. Now I would like to nominate my DM Focila, she's just a phenomenal woman, she's a single mother of two and she's helping me raise my son, she's very focused and organized in a way that I never have to shadow her for anything, I can see she will go far and the sky is just a stepping stone for her, she's been wanting to build her mum a house and then eventually start a business that can enable her to give the best to her children. Ariel please give her wings to fly.
Mel Robbins has great advice on how to stop procrastinating. She uses what she calls the 5 second rule to get through that block. Been using it lately and boy does it work, no jokes ka🙌🏿 Thing is once you think of doing something, if you even think of it for less than 5 seconds the mind will start to find ways of not doing it coz for some reason the mind just loves comfort. So if in that moment when you think of stuff to do, count down from 5-1 and just go and do it! Hope this helps Also read the book “The 5 second rule”.
Also procrastinating is a result of stress and not really not wanting to do something. Procrastinating is a form of stress relief. It can also be issues to do with perfectionism. Either way, check out Mel Robbins
Hi Patricia, I love this video. Thank you so much for sharing I struggle with time management but recently, after watching This is Ess' video on Food for the soul & Trying to be better... anyway she mentioned about Pick up limes... anyway, went and subscribed to her channel and my oh my!!! it was a life changer, been watching her videos and all of them are simply amazing. I think you should watch her video on 7 days of slow living and another one on Time Management Tips (if you haven't). These videos are helping me and I sincerely hope that they will help you too. On the Ariel campaign, I can totally relate as well; my DM, Nipher Muhatia has been with me for the last 12 years. She is now my live in and is taking care of my son who is now 2 years old. She is simply the best and my life is so much easier thanks to her. She is so trustworthy, caring and hardworking. We have been through so much and I consider her part of my family. I would love to nominate her and hope that she can get awarded by Ariel. Thank you and keep on smiling hun ❤️
I struggle with the same. Iam rooting for you. Love the song ( wahu wa my classmate in high school) I thank God for your helper. Love you and please update as you get along
I have been beating procrastination over the years too, I relate. It also gives that need to multitask, which eventually leaves most things half done. Any who, thengiu. My mantra, you have been, you are becoming and most importantly you, you are a being. Be, won't you? My tip nowadays, I do those that are most important first and plan ahead, and kind of award myself when i'm done at times to stay in. All the best P. I would love to work with you.
I am a social media addict but I am very organized in everything I do. I list done weekly tasks in order of priorities. I use the Task app. It helps a lot. I write done everything from nail appointments, cleaning, reading a book, cleaning etc. It helps. Failing to plan and list down, confuses me and when I fail to list the tasks I waste a whole day trying to figure out where to start. I would love to work with. I sent you an email
Heey Patricia... i would like to nominate my mums sister. She has been with us since childhood. She was like our DM since my mum was mostly at work. We love her so much since she deligated all her life just to raise us well. She never ever neglected us ati since we were not her kids, she was always genuine.Right now shes almost 60 years but we love her even more than our mom. She is the most loving and selfless person i have come accros. I think we have made it in life because of the encouragements she use to give us to work hard..Since she is aging we have been planning something for her coz we are all grown now. I think something from aerial would make her happy and feel appreciate. She literally moved in to our house when my big siz was born and since then she has been with us. And imagine am the last born and am 25 yrs. Those are almost 30 yrs she has been with us.. i dont know if we will ever get a present big enough to give her for the unending love she has shown us.
I'd like to nominate our dm who has served us for more than a decade. Their integrity and loyalty over the years has been impeccable! Currently he serves as our farm manager.
I am watching this while tying my head wrap to hide my dodo plaits, with a work deadline that was last night! not to mention all the many projects still running wild in my head. but guess what! I am on youtube!! Sis don't be so hard on yourself, you're holding yourself accountable now.
I want to nominate our house Manager Lydia. She works for my sister but comes to my place once a week. She is selfless, giving, has to juggle between her kids and both our houses. She is very humble and deserves this award because she was left to fend for both her kids by their father. She says she looks at people's homes and prays to one day achieve that level. Did I forget to say she is a prayer warrior? She sure is!!!
I would like to nominate Florence. I have truly never seen a more hard working person in all my years. She stepped in just before I delivered my twins and took over so efficiently that when she's away the entire household goes into withdrawal 😅. She also commutes weekly to see her kids in Kajiado and not once has there been tardiness on her part. She has initiative in her work and she is TIRELESS. She was looking to start a chicken business back home to augment her income. I would love Ariel's help in doing this and taking her 2 kids through school. 🤞🏾
I like Nancie Mwai's tip: Start with task that require little time to achieve that way you feel like you are doing a lot, this pysks you up to move on to bigger tasks.
It truly is a testament when we treat our household managers with respect and dignity. We lost our Rosie a few years ago. She raised me and my siblings and was with us for over 30 years. When she passed the world stopped for us. They are gems. It’s a blessing when you find one who is like family.
Am I the only one who totally loves Patricia's looks 🤩
Try out the:
5 by 5 rule:
Minimum of 5 goals a day, what you have to do
Then 5 affirmations
5 values for the day
Then you sign by the end of the day 😘
Wow...this is really awesome! I will try this.
@@Ms.millicentoloo 😊😊
@Mandy Oh do it 😉
Thanks for this Salome,I will do this going forward
Asante
I nominate our DM , She's been with us for 8 years now and she's raised my brothers and I at some point.
When she's on off aki we suffer so much wololo and that's when you realise you actually need to appreciate her.
she is the sole provider of her extended family and she has become such a significant part of the family I don't remember how it was without her .
She is amazing and I'm sure this award will boost and help her so much. She also keeps telling me how her child is soon joining secondary school and how she hopes she will be able to afford her fees. She is veronica...but popularly "vero".
The song in the intro is such a beautiful cover 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
can you find it?
On TH-cam no but you can find it on sound cloud ... Pauline Ayuko..
Thank you for bringing us in like this ❤
Procrastination increases when you're in such a headspace, infact I feel like your head space really determines your productivity levels.
And that looks like avoiding people, places and situations that make me uncomfortable, trigger anything negative in me like a memory or emotion and just doesn’t support or contribute positively to my wellbeing; emotionally, mentally, and all round
And I’m doing only what I want and need.
If you consume a lot of content on the tube, start changing what you consume, start watching/subscribing to pages/people talking about self improvement and growth in practical ways, relaxing/meditation music, just anything that'll contribute positively to your wellbeing, whatever that looks like for you, do it 💃
Keep going Patricia, you're soo brave and you're able ❤
You're such a strong force Patricia, this was such a strong and enlightening video, thank you.
I use the screen time app on my iPhone to monitor how much time I spend on social media. I set it to 3 hrs a day and once they are up those app shut down and I cannot use them until the next day. Knowing that I only have 3 hrs gets me to not waste time watching random videos
Oh bless. That’s mad discipline and I should get on that wave too!!
Thank you so much!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Giiirrrlll I relate completely the struggle is so real.. You are so real. Thank you for keeping it real.
I'd love to nominate my DM for the Ariel award.
Gosh this is exactly wht I wanted to say. The 5 minute rule has really helped me start tasks that I procrastinate about. Makes it less overwhelming.
♡
Love the song intro, i found myself singing along with my not so cool voice
Social media is a menace! I would tell you to stay away but I do know your work is part of it. I would recommend that you take breaks to be in your own reality. Also calenders and reminders are your friend! and yes go ahead and get an assistant, they will keep you accountable! Keep being amazing Patricia :)
Thanks Judy!
My most favorite video ever from you Patricia. I love how real and vulnerable you are. I also love how you appreciate Hadija, we thank God for her being in your life. I wish you well in finding the assistance you so need.
Thank you so much T. 🤗🤗🤗
You're so bold Pat! talking about it only means one thing, work in progress for a better Patty. All the best, you'll ace it
You are an overly amazing person and I pray that you shall find help to get through all the things that unsettling you. Thanks for being vulnerable enough to share your truths with us. I hope you shall find the help you need. ❤
Isaac Mwaura Thank you!
My mentor gave me some great tips
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow bless her...I hope she is healing well
@@Afreeone2 Hi! She is doing much better than the first day.She just has a couple more surgeries to go
Oh bless. Thank you for sharing this!
I am rooting for you Patricia. We are all rooting for You.
I love how vibrant you are!
I can compete with you on procrastination my dear. You are not alone. May God’s grace be sufficient for us! In our strengths, we cAnt do anything
You are so kind to your house manager. I love your vlogs Patricia they remind me am human yes I have been a procrastinator but am learning step by step
❤️❤️❤️
Oh bless. This is so heartwarming. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks.
We Love you Miss P!!!! Yaani Tunakupenda sana! (Que in proca's voice) you're beautiful and strong 💕💕 Love and Light
guuurl I feel you. my house also got robbed since then things have never been the same again. it changes how you view your own personal space and the feeling being there not so wanting. I have a song I always listen to especially when I wake up it really helps and put me in the right mood for the day.
Hey Patricia.. You gonna be okay gurl.
It's amazing how you can still do a video with all thats been happening..Brighter days are coming🤗.
You do a great job at expressing your true feelings. That is so refreshing to find honest emotions on TH-cam blogs. Thanks for sharing, you are great.
Your such an amazing soul may God grant you peace of mind and grace❤️❤️
Thanks Hun. I’ll definitely get checked. I’ve never really taken my health as a priority to be honest so good looking out. Thank you.
@@misskihoro You are most welcome. Keep well.
Shiro Njagi Thank you so much!
Try it..
Hey babe
I have one! I literally work on something for 5 minutes and then if I am not interested (which rarely happens) I stop and catch up on the next things!
It's called the 5 minutes rule and It really works with me!
In the meantime, the headwrap really looks bombs!
Bless. Will try this.
hey Patricia, I can relate to what you are feeling.
Pat u r strong and u will make it. U r in my prayers
aki I just love patricia,,,shes so real and has a good heart...
Bless khadija. You will get out of this phase. Step by step. You're doing well so far.
You are beautiful inside and out, you will get through it.
In whatever way you choose, release it
Asante sana! And yes. Lol. Playing with make up and length checks is me 🤣😭😭
Acknowledging you have an issue and asking for help...thumbs up!
Patricia it is well. At times life overwhelms you and the best thing you can do is accept that you need help. Help is on the way, keep believing.
I could go on and on..but I will leave it at that.😊
I relate hun... you are not alone!
Hey
Many blessings to khadija
She reminds me of our dm who is like our shosh in the house, martha
She came to our place in 2010 and has been with us ever since.when she came I had just gotten chicken pox and thank God she did cause whe educated us on how to make eucalyptus treatment for it and in a day the pox had dried up scar free
She is able to cnnect with everyone in the house from mum and dad to all of us siblings .
Bless you Patricia. You have a big and beautiful heart 💐❤
Mel Robbins has great advice on how to stop procrastinating. She uses what she calls the 5 second rule to get through that block. Been using it lately and boy does it work, no jokes ka🙌🏿
Thing is once you think of doing something, if you even think of it for less than 5 seconds the mind will start to find ways of not doing it coz for some reason the mind just loves comfort. So if in that moment when you think of stuff to do, count down from 5-1 and just go and do it! Hope this helps
Also read the book “The 5 second rule”.
Also procrastinating is a result of stress and not really not wanting to do something. Procrastinating is a form of stress relief. It can also be issues to do with perfectionism. Either way, check out Mel Robbins
kelline kanyangala yeah Mel Robbins is awesome
If i was in Nairobi,id definitely take up this offer! It is well Patricia.....take ur time, step by step mamaa....
The Lord has a great plan for you, darling... You have immense strength you have... We love you and we will be praying for you
I struggle with the same.
♥️♥️♥️♥️ you’ll get through this.
Awww Patricia, God bless your soul. 🤗 🤗
I am watching this while tying my head wrap to hide my dodo plaits, with a work deadline that was last night! not to mention all the many projects still running wild in my head. but guess what! I am on youtube!! Sis don't be so hard on yourself, you're holding yourself accountable now.
I love you patty💗💗💗❣
I want to nominate our house Manager Lydia. She works for my sister but comes to my place once a week. She is selfless, giving, has to juggle between her kids and both our houses. She is very humble and deserves this award because she was left to fend for both her kids by their father. She says she looks at people's homes and prays to one day achieve that level. Did I forget to say she is a prayer warrior? She sure is!!!
The intro and song choices are just 🔥❤I love you patricia
I would like to nominate Florence. I have truly never seen a more hard working person in all my years. She stepped in just before I delivered my twins and took over so efficiently that when she's away the entire household goes into withdrawal 😅. She also commutes weekly to see her kids in Kajiado and not once has there been tardiness on her part. She has initiative in her work and she is TIRELESS.
She was looking to start a chicken business back home to augment her income. I would love Ariel's help in doing this and taking her 2 kids through school. 🤞🏾
wow your play list, so so Dope!!! nime rewind from start to 0:48 lol need this song
Love and light.
Oh Patricia you are so amazing and inspiring ❤️❤️❤️
You are so amazing Patricia
Love you Patricia,my favorite TH-camr in Kenya..😘
I love your honesty and genuinety if that's even a word
Also struggling with very basic tasks but I know we shall be okay.... Sending you love ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I like Nancie Mwai's tip: Start with task that require little time to achieve that way you feel like you are doing a lot, this pysks you up to move on to bigger tasks.
That intro got me on valentines mood already 😍😍
