With prong collars you are Not supposed to keep constant pressure. You are supposed to keep it loose and when they do something wrong it applies pressure then release. Just trying to help I have used these collars for 20 plus years
I would love to see you work with a younger more naughty one because we just can't get our kids 4h ones to walk, we have tried treats, they use halters but I am wondering if a chain would be better...
Do you do this with older goats, say two years old, that have never been trained or does this really work best with goats that have been trained from kids?
The second to last vid you showed; the goat digs it feet down and just won’t go, mine does that on a lead as well. If I don’t just drag him a few steps then how do I get him to move? Or do you just mean don’t drag them behind a car lol !

I’m very new to livestock and 4-H. I have this 4 month old Nubian I believe. And whenever I try to put her on a collar she constantly fights me and crocodile roles trying to get away from me. How would you suggest I fix/help her not to do that.
I would say try to tie he up with her head up for about a 1/2 hour then take her off and try walking her as soon as she does it again tie her up and do again
I have a goat for competition and I don't want to get rid of him and I feel bad and I have to walk him a chocker idk how to make him to get used to it.
Someone gave me three goats. 5 year old billy and doe and a 10 months old baby. They were never on leashes just in a small pasture. I put them on leashes to move them around my 20 acres to eat and they do fine walking with me. The problem is catching them they don’t like people lol.
I can see you will be my new favorite channel Lol my daughter is getting into 4h and will be showing Boer goats this year. Please keep the information coming
Wow! I tried to track down Al Capone forever, I met him a couple times and when I finally found out who had him they let him pass away of worms. What a shame for such an exquisite animal.
Thank you.
I wasn't sure if it was really that possible
This is very helpful! I've been trying to get my 4-h goat leading nicely and ready for fair. Thank you!
Alligator Rolls 😂. We definitely can relate to that comment. Thanks for the ideas and for the help.
Your welcome
Guys, this was so helpful! I so appreciate you making this!

Hello hello hello
Thank you, this video was so helpful for me to train my goat thx
Do you do this with older goats, say two years old, that have never been trained or does this really work best with goats that have been trained from kids?
I found the best way is to just load them up and take them to the show but yes it will work but seems to work better with other goats around working

We mean don’t drag behind a 4wheeler I mean pull them a few steps then stop them down it again
Thank you I have 1 goat right now that’s not halter broken yet thanks

What kind of halter is the one that you work him with? That teal colored one?
That one is a Weaver but we love the ones from bling in the ring to show with
What are the names of your chains?
They are a springer collar with some modifications you can get them all done up from Bling In The Ring on Etsy or look them up on Facebook
Also how long are you tying them up before you start walking with them?
We will tie them up for 15-20 minutes then try to walk them a little and we will do this every day till they start walking good

Will do go back and watch the videos already posted. Check us out on FB at clear Creek farm if you run into anything you need help with let us know.
My goat will not walk, he drags and I’m getting really frustrated and don’t know what to do
Do you have another goat that walks good if so maybe work them together
Clear Creek Farm yes but I’m afraid it could make him worse and not want to walk at all if he doesn’t have his brother with him
I’m going to start him over on the basics, he braces amazingly but is a terrible walker. The big state show is less than a month away!
Kylie Barr yes start from the beginning get him on a lead and start from the beginning of this video
Dm me on Facebook or Instagram we can talk about some other ideas
