I have something to share. Both my parents are raised outside of Kerala and thus were not too glued into cine actors of Malayalam cinema. This incident happened when I was in the 8th standard. We got a phone call on our landline, and my mom took the call. I could hear her say “അല്ല ! ഇത് മനോജ് ഇന്റെ വീട് അല്ല ! You have the wrong number. ഞാൻ എന്തിനാ എന്റെ പേര് പറയുന്നേ ! "രതീഷോ". Film star o! Sorry.. I don’t have the time for this” And my mom hangs up. We get a call back again for Manoj and my mom asks the person to stop disturbing. We then learn from a cousin that Rateesh was indeed a famous film star. I remember the cousin trying to help us identify who Rateesh was with a series of film names & stories! 😅😅😂
