    Put the arm strap to use bud. Once you do that the "nose heavy" thing won't be as bad.

    Changed coil to the smaller garrett 250 coil still nose heavy. I was shocked both coils weight is the same .so arm cuff distance or weight of the stem is the problem. Fantastic video.

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a beginner into the intermediate range it is a good little detector for sure....but saying it is good for "any one" who has a far superior detector and skill range is a stretch of the imagination.

    volume control is on the head phones line that comes with the detector, you can also buy the kit that comes with the pp.

      Correct. My point being it does not have volume control on the unit itself. A negative in my opinion.

    Nice review, I run the ace 250 right now with the nel tornado coil talk about nose heavy. But I have dug targets 13 to 16 in. So I will put up with it. Later this summer I am up grading to the AT PRO cant wait. I all so have a bounty hunter discovery 1100 for a cheap back up it will get down to 6 in with out a problem. And I have two 1970 machines just to look at they work but not like the new ones. Take care GL=HH \_

      +REDBEAM58 Thanks for watching and commenting Redbeam! That Tornado would be way too heavy for me but I have heard good things about them. Best of luck and happy hunting this season. The AT Pro is a proven detector that will bring you tons of fun.

    I think if you took more time to learn the machine and then do your testing that you would find that you will be more accurate and what you are actually saying about this particular machine before posting anything any video you should at least spend three to four days with the machine and different environments using all of the different controls that you have on the machine after doing that for 3 to 4 days then post whatever you want about the machine because at that time at that point you will be more accurate at what you are saying that's my opinion

    Hi, Hunter, I have a question for your expertise. I just bought a used ACE 400 that hopefully will be here next week. I got it for $100! I had to make a deal with my wife since $$$$ is tight to sell one of my Bounty Hunters. I have a BH Tracker IV and a BH Tracker Pro. Both are in excellent condition. The Tracker Pro had an issue but I opened it up and found a loose cable and some cold solder joints. Fixed them and it's been working great. My question is if you could only keep 1 of those BH's which would it be? I thought I read somewhere that the Tracker Pro was basically a Tracker IV with a digital display and some software to turn signals into guesses of what's there. You do also have a depth reading. I have an idea which I'm going to keep, but I want to see what your expert opinion is. Thank You so much. I wish I could send our East Coast Rain out West for you all. Dave in Reading, PA

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dave. Heck of a deal on that 400. I would personally keep the T4 since you already have a 400 on the way with a display and all that. The T4 has a WAY faster recovery speed than the Pro. Both are good...but the T4 is the more proven pick in my eyes. Wish it only took one 9v and was more ergo like the Pro...but the T4 would be my choice.

    • @cruikshank
      @cruikshank ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thehuntergt That was my choice too. In fact I’ve found items with the IV where the Pro didn’t show a signal. Thanks Much. Hope you’re having a better day.

    I own a Minelab Xterra 705 and I'm hesitating to buy this new Garrett 400i ( "i" cause I live in France). I'm not sure it's a good idea or not. Ace 400i seems to be faster to ring but I'm not sure it goes deeper than my 705....

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Xterra will absolutely go deeper than the Ace 400. It costs 2X as much and is in a different class altogether. I would keep the 705 and save for a FBS Minelab if I were you. The Ace is faster on recovery speed...but that is about it. Good luck with your decision!

    I have ACE 300 and wonder how would you use these machines to read some Gold nuggets? If that's even possible. Otherwise I like the 300, but it gets heavy a bit so I switch arms.. LOL

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah it can be a bit nose heavy with the stock coil. Since it has no true all-metal mode with a threshold...I would not personally use it for gold prospecting. It will definitely hit a larger nugget...but those are super rare obviously.

  • @IMF-Ryan
    @IMF-Ryan 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    About the nose heavy problem... Could you not add a weight to the end of the arm rest to balance it?

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ry That is a solution yes - but keep in mind you are just adding more weight to the detector itself when doing that. You may still get shoulder fatigue. I did not - but others may especially after adding a counter weight.
      The smaller 8X5 coil fixed the nose heavy issue instantly.

    • @IMF-Ryan

      @thehuntergt  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Ry Thank you for watching! More vids on the way! My impressions after roughly 15 hours of using it are fairly favorable. There are a few negative points like all detectors but many of them are nit-picky. The positives absolutely outweigh the negatives and I'm looking forward to shooting the review video coming up.

    what do you guys think is better the ace 400 or AT pro i cant decided

    • @thehuntergt
      @thehuntergt  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear from the Garrett hardcore that the bridge between the Ace 400 and the AT Pro is pretty narrow. I would think the AT Pro is a bit deeper and handles poor dirt a bit better. I have never used one but hope to have one for review in the coming months. Have a few friends with one and will probably borrow one of theirs for some testing.
      In medium to good soils....I think they would be fairly comparable.
