    Your journey is inspiring. What are the chances for one who is over 44, gotten student visa and the wife is 38 but she will be joining to start a program

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  ปีที่แล้ว

      For you, the chances are limited to employer sponsorship under a labour agreement that has age concessions for up to 55 year olds (not easy to find). Your wife may have better chances due to her age. Be careful with the course choice for your wife as you don't want to waste the few years before the cut off.

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's possible, however you need to be strategic. I would recommend studying in a regional area where there are prospects to be sponsored by an employer after his studies. Please see my last 2 videos about PR for people around the age of 45

    • @lifewithchioma

    Congratulations, Chioma. I have a bachelor's degree in social work from Unilorin, Nigeria. Graduated last year. Looking for a masters scholarship. However, no Social work scholarship in Australia, most are in the US. Can I migrate to Australia immediately after my program in the US? And what's the possibility of landing a job for a fresh graduate coming from the US?

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have you considered applying directly for PR in Australia with your BSW?. Use this points calculator and see if you score at least 65 points. If you have documents to support your claims, give PR a shot. About scholarships, I have not seen any scholarships specifically for Social Work, but different unis offer different classes of scholarships that can be applied to whatever course you study. And yes, you can migrate to Aus from the US

    Hello Chioma, thank you for this information. Please I have a question. I am currently in Australia on a student visa and applied for the subsequent entrant visa for my wife. I'll like to know how long it took before your subsequent entrant visa was granted in months, we have applied for 3months now and it is not out yet.

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Temitayo, I believe the processing time will be the same as for the primary applicant; but with the current backlog (which I have heard is quite significant), there are very long delays. In my case it took less than 2 months, but that was several years ago.

    • @lifewithchioma
      @lifewithchioma  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rita. I can't say how long it will take unfortunately as I have no idea of Macquarie's processes. Well, we had to prioritise and sacrifice (live in a cheap apartment, I started a business from home to save on childcare costs before I started my course. After I started, we only used child care when we needed and we tried as much as possible to work alternating shifts so that one person was home with the kids - wasn't always possible, but we did what we could)

      No, I have only lived in Sydney. I didn't go anywhere. That advice has different sides to it, but the bottom line is making sure you have the right information from the start so you don't end up hopping from state to state in search of PR.
