All he ever needed was his guitar and a microphone and he could keep thousands of people enthralled in any country in the world. There'll never be another like him. We lost him far too soon. RIP My friend.
I am watching this decades later; February 23, 2024, tears are flowing like rivers as I watch this concert. My husband and I used to play John Denver's cassette tapes while on our Family Road trips to California, and The White Mountains of Northern Arizona. I recently ordered on Etsy, song Lyrics tee shirts, another way to remember this Blessed Folk Singer, the first one I ordered was Some Days ARE Diamonds, a few minutes ago, I ordered his FALLING OUT OF LOVE. I also have The Righteous Bros. Song UNCHAINED MELODY, tee shirt. I chose these 3 songs, because I lost my husband in 2000, he was only 51. Here it is 24 years later, I am 75. I still cry, but I play all the songs of John Denver's songs, it makes me sad, but helps release the depression. Don't ever let anyone tell you to stop grieving, saying its's been long enough
So sorry for your loss. It’s REAL….your feelings. My son was married 18 months when his wife succumbed to Covid. 4 years later he still grieves. John D has always been my favorite when I’m feeling low. He can transcend me to places of my dreams. We lost him way too soon
Just a man and his guitar....and a priceless concert. No fancy lights or instrumental orchestrations. Is it me or does anyone else watch him perform and hear the tenderness in his voice which only improved as he aged? Tears flow listening to him and the innocence of love and life in his lyrics. I remember a time in my own life when I hid my sadness in his music. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to perform like he did not just this night but countless times when his private life didn't reflect the big grin on his face. He was one of a kind and is missed even today in 2024.
❤ Amen to this! I imagine his love for performing helped ease the conflict and pain he often had on the side... JD sacrificed a lot... May he forever be at peace and know how he has touched so many people with his legacy!❤
I have fallen in love with John Denver and his music when I was seven years old. I am 61 years old now and my love for him and his music still remains. Too bad I was not able to see him in person nor watch any of his concerts. Thank God his concerts are being shown again...
I was able to attend several live concerts and was fortunate to have gotten to meet John after one. It was August 1997. My photo of he and I is a prized possession.
Absolutely! Have been listing to him since 1968! And still do❗️ First time I heard this song driving home in Muskogee, 0k! Went in & told my sweet hubby, “ I just heard this guy singing abt the Rocky Mountains‼️ “ Was hooked from then on! Saw him preform in Tulsa 3 times! Met him once! Watched every TV special he ever did! Own copy of every song ever published! Cassettes, records, CD’s! Truly most unique singer, songwriter, performer EVER ❗️‼️ Tragic end to his brilliant talent❗️Pray he is singing with angels in heaven now, on streets of gold worship songs to God everlasting ❗️
Started listening to him 1969 when I was 20 years old. Still listening. He was the first artist I saw in person some years later and was stunned that you could barely hear him from the entire audience singing with him…EVERY SONG. Timeless voice.
He was the most amazing person. So talented. I loved him the first time i heard him 50 years ago and i always will. No one else touches my heart and soul with music like John
So it was for me : first time I listen to him on a radio, here in Brazil, back in the early 70's, I'll never forget : Calypso... This was only a beginning ... One of my favorit performers and songwriters, that shaped me till now .
Absolutely. You are here 🙂 Also there are facebook groups that have lots of followers. like facebook.com/groups/2187569941267633/ and facebook.com/groups/40422614497/
Same here, June 1974. I learned to fingerpick guitar from his greatest hits album. I was 15 and lived far out in the country. John Denver songs kept me company.
Listening this in Switzerland in 2024; had the chance to see him twice in audience in Germany (Hamburg and Frankfurt). These concerts were best for my life.
John tried to tell us how to do life. How many listened? This song made me shed great big tears, especially because of the state of our world at this moment. Why didn't we listen and live our lives as John sang?💓🐑
I can’t think of any other singer that had such a clear and powerful voice as John Denver. The way he was able to sustain notes was like no other. He was truly something and one of a kind.
He said he be an eagle or hawk in the next life. I rather think he'd be a songbird. I saw an indigo bunting singing its most wonderfully sweet song at a JD Memorial event and it reminded me of the way his beautiful voice "warbled" on those extended notes. John was truly a human songbird!
I was very lucky to be able to see John Denver on his "One World" tour in Mannheim several years ago. One of the most important singer/songwriters for me. It's a shame that he had to leave the world so early. Together with G. Lightfoot & H. Chapin, his songs belong to my favorite repertoire. Best regards 💚 to the U.S.A. 🇺🇲 from Germany 🇩🇪 !
I’m also listening to John Denver as of May 8, 2024. He had so much talent, both as an actor as well as a country singer. He definitely left this world way too soon!
May, 2024, I'm from Denver, Colorado. I grew up with this truly miraculous talent. I've always felt that he was personally touching my soul singing about Colorado, its beauty...sadly that it is being Californicated, all in the name of profit. It truly offends me that Aspen, Colorado,, and other popular places, e.g., Red Rocks Amphitheater that have been closed off. They have it closed to concerts, etc. However, there was once a time when we could roam the rocks for free, at will. I even had a geology class that included a field trip to see a strata layer that was "missing." As I recall, it was a strata of 600 million years. Dear God, how I am thankful to have this time, this existence, now to have benn blessed to hear this beautiful music of John Denver, Journey, Tom Jones,, etc.. The music today is loud, angry, without soul. Give me a break: rap???
John Denver was such a natural performer. Hard to believe his life was so complicated when he sang such simplistic but heart warming songs from the soul ❤
Its so lovely to watch John with his children They are so blessed to have each other John is so missed and dearly loved We need him all the more now...he lives in our hearts RIP John❤
Just moved back home from 25 years in Colorado, there is no where like it. Every mountain has its own beauty. Around the world there magnificent ranges. Gods creation
Losing John left a huge hole in my heart. I was distraught when the news broke as many thousands of others. So much music lost in a split second….but I found some comfort in knowing he died as he lived, touching clouds. In his “An Evening with John Denver” show he did one of the funniest songs I’d ever heard (before or since). Does anyone else remember Toledo, Ohio?! Just the memory of it brings a smile to my lips. What a GREAT song for “visuals!” To my knowledge, he didn’t sing it again live. What a perfect “live act” song, yes??! (just don’t sing it in Toledo!) I’ll be looking for you in Heaven, my friend. I know God will be wanting you to sing for us there. I’ll be second from the left, seven people to the right. ❤️🐈
I agree with every word you've written. There is a poem called High Flight, written by John G Magee, Jr. You can find it on TH-cam. He was a test pilot and died in mid air collision. It makes me think of John Denver and rocky mountain high.
He had such a clear and beautiful voice. Will remember seeing him in Concert in MSG, he almost didn't need a mike to be Heard. RIP, left the world too soon.
Cool, once for me(1988 at the Sydney Entertainment Center)..... His warm up act was a young guitarist named Tommy Emmanuel. They were both terrific! tragic loss!
Two or three times for me. At the Richfield Coliseum between Cleveland and Akron Ohio. In his earlier days, At the height of his career when he was touring with Lee holdridge's 50 or 60 piece Orchestra! Absolutely incredible! And Far Out, too!!! Here, in this wonderful video, later in his career, more mature, musically and vocally, just as incredible. A single voice accompanied by a single instrument.
Yep ...still inspired after all these years since 1972. Nowadays I make sure that JD's inspiration is transferred to my grandkids - they love him and his message! My daughter (no surprise) is already a big fan and it'll stay that way for generations to come. If only the world had listened to him.... look at it now.
I know right? He had the right message - thank goodness he graced our planet and at least started awakening people to it's plight. Thank you for your comment ❤
I was privileged to see John perform in the UK on several occasions. I can honestly say that this is most pure and strong his voice ever sounded. His song will live forever.
My little dog and I listens to the same ole songs every night. I think of his songs yrs ago.He is still missed to this day.My wife that passed in July 2020 enjoyed listening to John.Fly high Brother 🙏👍
I loved him in the 70s and 80s but only discovered the majority of his songs in the last 2 years. The radio unfortunately only played the most popular songs.
When I was a freshman at Kyoto University, I watched this concert on TV. I was amazed at how John sang Biwa Song in perfect Japanese. I still admire him. Unfortunately, we don't have superbly emotionally-singing singers like him in Japan.
What a beautiful gift God gave us with John Denver ! He brought love peace and glorious words to remember now in 2024 with so much to have on our hearts and minds. Sad to have lost him so young. Yet here I am at 75 still blessed to enjoy such a marvelous experience with his timeless songs and wonderful personality. Blessings and peace to all who seek.❤
How very beautiful! So much talent and heart in his performances. This concert has such an intimate feel to it. Even all thses years later, sometimes -- out of the blue -- it'll just hit me again; I'll never get to know him in person. It sounds weird, I know, but I felt such a kinship with JD because of his music.
I saw him once here in the UK, at the NEC, (National Exhibition Centre) about six months before he died. Still grieving. Part of the soundtrack of my life.
John's music inspired me to learn guitar, it was the soundtrack of my courtship of my dear Alison who passed in 2017 and continues to bring hope today in 2024.
Rocky Mountain High is such an iconic song. I am a huge music lover of so many genre. Rocky Mountain High might be my all time favorite song. John Denver has his own lane. There is NOBODY like him. ❤
His voice could easily occupy a whole stadium! What a sweet and strong voice from John Denver, I wasn't yet born with his hit songs but I was so delighted whenever I hear he sing his very good songs.
John had such a beautiful heartfelt talent, he, his voice, and his guitar. I understood how he taught us to live, to help the hungry, protect our earth. He touched my soul, then and still, all these years later.... I loved John and his music; it still touches me. RIP dear John.... you are still loved, missed, and you will never be forgotten ❤
You fill up my senses...like a night in the forest...thank you beautiful John for your gift to humanity...we are One..with love from New Zealand. PEACE on Earth...
My all time favorite artist. I had the great pleasure of seeing him twice in concert in Montreal in the early 1980s. I fell in love with his music about 1970 and to this day there isn't a day I don't listen to him on a daily basis. I own all his music, first on casettes, vinyl lps, then cds. Now I'm dating myself, but to me his music is timeless. I even got my daughter who was born in 1988 hooked on his music. Man he left us too soon.😢
Love John Denver. Unfortunately I was born after his passing and will never have the opportunity to see him in concert, so these TH-cam recordings are the best. Thank you for this.
You're right. We have lost him for ever, but not his music, his incredible talent, and how much he cared about people and the environment. So John, your work on earth is done - go rest on that high mountain.
John Denver was my first concert. It was for my 10th birthday in 1980, just a few years before this. He was one of my favorites then, and now. Clear, rich voice and lyrics that move me every time.
Love this man so much …lit up the world….tears flow listening to that one of a kind beautiful ethereal voice…thank you John for leaving your beautiful music legacy..RIP ❤❤❤❤❤
John Denver was our true Gift from The Lord above...It seems like every time I hear a Melody of his that it touches my heart and I break down in tears. I can think of very few Artist/Songwriters that compare...Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, Carol King, Don McLean, Harry Chapin, Cat Stevens...
Agree. I'd add Karen Carpenter, Neil Diamond, and Brian Joseph Friel. The latter not so well known maybe, but Google Louise is loose, and Ashes and Matchsticks, and you'll get my drift.
@@jd-loveistheanswer Folk music almost totally gone because unless you really know music you won't know , That's how bad they got into people's heads and destroyed the cultures
JD's ambassadorship has had lasting impacts. In 2005, I was able to hear a bus full of Chinese tourists to southeast Asia sing his songs. I'm not sure how much other artists in his day ventured into Asia but IMHO bringing his music abroad was just pure joy, love, and genius.
A great performance John Denver has a powerful beautiful voice that touches everyone's heart around the world great song writer great guitar player his voice change my mind n I started loving country music growing up in the 80s great for rock heavy metal rock music n a little country to amazing I miss you John Denver you were taken from us way to soon. I love you John Denver RIP 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️😥🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹
He played a big part in my life when he never knew me, he centered this teenager heart, and gave her peace at a time there was turmoil. Taught me to turn to nature and find that peace. And now decades later, his music still does that! one regret is that I never saw him live, but I treasure music always and forever. you are sorely missed John Denver. Thanks for the music thanks for your heart.
Wow. A full concert with a young John Denver ❤. What a treasure to find. Thanks for posting this. His early death rocked my heart as did Toby Keith. Both, we'll see in Heaven after meeting Yeshua!❤
All he ever needed was his guitar and a microphone and he could keep thousands of people enthralled in any country in the world. There'll never be another like him. We lost him far too soon. RIP My friend.
You are right! My friend!
So very true. He is so sorely missed. We will love him forever!

And a brilliant actor as well .

John Denver unplugged
Although the songs are very different... I felt the same about Simon & Garfunkel
Just 'hand instruments and smoothly matched voices
I have fallen in love with John Denver and his music when I was seven years old. I am 61 years old now and my love for him and his music still remains. Too bad I was not able to see him in person nor watch any of his concerts. Thank God his concerts are being shown again...

His voice was so beautiful this night he spoke Japanese that's awesome. John is sorely missed by many. RIP❤
Truly inspiring to me.
One of the very best singer / songwriters ever!!!
Saw John Denver at Red Rocks in Colorado back in the late ‘70’s . Just him and a guitar on a beautiful Summer evening . Fantastic .
Saw him in Aspen in late 60s. I feel the same way today that I felt about his music then. ❤
Started listening to him 1969 when I was 20 years old. Still listening. He was the first artist I saw in person some years later and was stunned that you could barely hear him from the entire audience singing with him…EVERY SONG. Timeless voice.
Yes His voice, songs, and music was distinct, understandble and made you stay with them. Why do we lose the best too soon?
John didn't need smoke or mirrors, just his guitar and an audience who truly loved him!
This shows the power and impact that his songs had on people and the world.
The one and only, John Denver wonderful musician, story teller had a great sense of humor. Soulful
😮❤

Saw him in cork ireland 1986 incredible one man one guitar 40 thousand people. Incredible experience to be there. One of the greatest ever.
Amazing performance ;) Tears rolling down my face. Pure beauty and emotion !!! Top-notch guitar playing and heavenly voice ;)

Started listening to this great talent in 1974. Still listening in

Same here, June 1974. I learned to fingerpick guitar from his greatest hits album. I was 15 and lived far out in the country. John Denver songs kept me company.
My first real love came when we were both listening to John's Living on a jet plane. I will never forget that moment

People are human - John understood that and knew he had to work hard to help us change.
We have to try to be that change and never lose hope because earth is our only home RIP John❤❤❤
You are so right. Wish we had another "John" to help spread the word.

Had tickets to see him at U of I back in 82. But he lost his voice from his last performance so it was cancelled. Bummer.

Yep, I feel the same.
Still listening in Ireland 🇮🇪 2024 one of the greatest john denver IS ♥️ WAS FIREVER IS RIP 🙏🏼 JOHN
Denver's music is timeless!! Can still sing along be it alone or in company.
Waoh...this guy was so talented. Imagine one man band. No drams no backups just him and his guitar. Sorry I never came to saw you
Total Pr01 😢🎉😂❤
I saw him once here in the UK, at the NEC, (National Exhibition Centre) about six months before he died. Still grieving. Part of the soundtrack of my life.
The greatest poet of my lifetime, I'm 74 now.
He’s wonderful but have you heard Paul Williams? Another poet from the 70’s.
He is a person who has seen and felt the sufferings and aspirations of humanity.
A one man band. The best who ever took the stage. Just fantastic.
John's music inspired me to learn guitar, it was the soundtrack of my courtship of my dear Alison who passed in 2017 and continues to bring hope today in 2024.
His music inspired me to play better.
Goodness YES . . . Always love John Denver !!!
Rocky Mountain High is such an iconic song. I am a huge music lover of so many genre. Rocky Mountain High might be my all time favorite song. John Denver has his own lane. There is NOBODY like him. ❤
What a beautiful concert John love it thank God for John Denver
His voice could easily occupy a whole stadium! What a sweet and strong voice from John Denver, I wasn't yet born with his hit songs but I was so delighted whenever I hear he sing his very good songs.
John had such a beautiful heartfelt talent, he, his voice, and his guitar. I understood how he taught us to live, to help the hungry, protect our earth. He touched my soul, then and still, all these years later.... I loved John and his music; it still touches me. RIP dear John.... you are still loved, missed, and you will never be forgotten ❤
im 69 and i have LOVED John Denver since i was 17 !!!! i still listen almost every Day. i miss you John, but your music lives on FOREVER
We are so lucky to have them.
You're right. We have lost him for ever, but not his music, his incredible talent, and how much he cared about people and the environment. So John, your work on earth is done - go rest on that high mountain.
Comme vous très gros regret...!
John Denver was my first concert. It was for my 10th birthday in 1980, just a few years before this. He was one of my favorites then, and now. Clear, rich voice and lyrics that move me every time.
During my years with my first love, I was as happy as the happiest John Denver song. 03-29-2024
There is no word to explain his calibre.
for sure!
His passion for the conservstion of the natural environment was evident in the songs he composed and sang. He was admirable and amazing!
Nice songs..brought back past good memories in my childhood❤❤❤❤❤!!!!
Thank God for the recorded treasures such as this which bring us back to a happier time. And thank you, John Denver, for being there.
I love John Denver's music since I heart it in the 70s I've never stopped listening to him.🎼👍👏👏 RIP John

Such a pleasure to here John Denver sing. On of the best treats given to our world.
wOW. What a fantastically inspired concert!! BEAUTIFUL. Denver at his BEST.
Love this man so much …lit up the world….tears flow listening to that one of a kind beautiful ethereal voice…thank you John for leaving your beautiful music legacy..RIP ❤❤❤❤❤
There will never be another John Denver, he was so good..
Thank you so much for uploading this. John was an amazing singer 👍🏻👋🏻💯
Don't forget the immensely talented The Everly Brothers.
Agree. I'd add Karen Carpenter, Neil Diamond, and Brian Joseph Friel. The latter not so well known maybe, but Google Louise is loose, and Ashes and Matchsticks, and you'll get my drift.
I'd add Gordon Lightfoot, Joan Baez, Judy Collins and Nanci Griffith to that list.
Je vous comprends... le seul à me mettre dans un tel état ! Et l'émotion est toujours là toujours. Unique Magnifique ARTISTE... Bonne soirée à vous.
Yes there is I love John Denver's music His voice is so smoothing Incredible Man
The Greatest Folk music singer that ever was .And the sad thing is, people dont even know what Folk Music is .Well he was the best at it no doubt !
Totally!
@@jd-loveistheanswer Folk music almost totally gone because unless you really know music you won't know , That's how bad they got into people's heads and destroyed the cultures
会いたかったな〜
貴方の音楽に出会ってから、もう50年が経とうとしています。
未だにギター抱えて一緒に歌ってます
He was truly one of a kind. The world still needs him. Gone too soon and missed forever. Peace.
Arigato
What an amazing human being. I love his music and energy he used in helping the world's environment.😢
Truly a gem of a concert. Bless you. Peace!
Such a beautiful Artist. He loved Colorado and Mother Earth. A gifted giving man. His music has always influenced my life. Beautiful soul. ❤❤❤

Wow! How beautiful his voice was. I never tire of his music. I wish I could of heard him sing live.
