Dexter was my favourite character but I couldn’t hate Doakes, he was the funniest character in the show. pure entertainment every time he’s on screen and he was just doing his job.
I find the dialogue when Doakes finds out about Dexter fascinating, because it’s incredibly realistic to what the scene should be; rather than being dramatic and full of emotion, it’s Doakes allowing himself to express a bit of the overwhelm he is feeling without losing compuse, and Dexter just reacting to it without any emotion whatsoever, kind of on automatic pilot. “You said that.” “I’m happy for you”. Man, such anticlimactic answers, yet perfect for the situation. I love how well written this dialogue is.
Let me tell you. I would look up clips on TH-cam of Dexter to look for parts I found were the best and interesting, so hard to find. Thank you much to the admin of this channel for reviving it, you the real MVP.
Doakes was smart and even understanding too a point but his emotions got the best of him. He was able to figure out Dexter's code while captive and knew he doesn't satisfy it.
The stories of the two first seasons always felt like they could have been saved for the final ones. Finding out about Dexter's brother and having the showdown with Doakes is finale material. I remember it almost feeling weird starting a new season after the second one finished
I remember binge watching Dexter, Suits and Breaking Bad during covid, and they all had the same thing in common, they all started out with a 3 season premise, but ended up becoming huge hits, and they all had to make adjustments to the shows to allow them to continue. The actor who played Dokes was a great actor, and was in fantastic shape. Unfortunately the “Will Dokes catch Dexter” or “Will Mike be found out” story lines could only last a couple seasons, and they had to make changes to keep moving forward. Breaking Bad kept Jessie when he was supposed to have been killed off, and brought in Gus Fring to advance the story.
Eric King (Doakes) is such a phenomenal actor & played his character to perfection, he managed to be cause chaos for Dexter & be hilarious at the same time, I loved every scene he was in & sadly his obsessiveness to Dexter was the reason he got killed, Hopefully we get more flashbacks with (Micheal C Hall) Dexter & Doakes (Eric King) in the new spin off as if Better call Saul can pull it off to perfection, this series can do it too even if we see Micheal Wearing A Wig like he did playing a younger Dexter in first few seasons 🤩
I think Eric King playing the role of Doakes would have him type cast. Who wants to hire an angry guy like that to play anything else. Maybe a scum bag drug dealer would fit.

Dude these are honestly just pure comedy these actors are so serious yet so effortlessly funny
“I didn’t know you were Jewish”
This will always make laugh 😂
This man deserved another season. And another. And maybe one more. Mayyyybe one more after that.
Doakes death was Strike 1, the Trinity Killer season with Lithgow was Strike 2, and Strike 3 and after arguing with the ref, ejection.
Doake’s was never meant to be a long-term character
@@Sniperboy5551source?
@@Sniperboy5551 In the books he lives longer.
@@Dunkiep8 If you call that living.
I cut him saying "Suprise MothaFucka" as my notification for texts back in 2014. I loved it!
Stealing this, thanks
Doaks dying left a hole in this series. I loved their interactions.
The dockworker talking to Doakes like he's his boss. Love it!
Eric King would have made a hell of a Spawn.
Man is built for the role.
this beef was hilarious such a great way to put a comedic spin on such dark undertones
“I really enjoyed our conversations James. I lie to everyone I know…except my victims..Right before I kill them “ 🤘🏼🙌🏼 23:20
Doakes had spent his career steamrolling over everyone in his way. So finally when he comes up against Dexter, who isn’t intimidated or moved, Doakes gets suspicious. Dexter just happens to also be a murderer. But I have a feeling that Doakes would be this much of an asshole to anyone who didn’t fawn over him or act similar to Dexter.
Don't forget that whole debacle where Doakes shot the Haitian man and Angel is entirely convinced Doakes shot first
That's when I thought maybe Doakes has a dark passenger like Dexter
Wasnt the whole point of Dexter was that he unalived people who were innocent and Dexter did it for personal reasons
@@AMENAZZYYNo? Dexter only ever goes after killers. But he did kill a random dude in a bathroom to take out his anger over Rita's death.
@@cynicalmemester1694 that's an innocent getting murdered by him.🙂🙂
@@happilyevernever4289 Yes
The quote at 1:26 always gets me about. The fact that Doakes is the only one who sees Dexter as he is is kind blowing
"Nobody is paying you to stare." Um.... he is paid to stare and analyse to not miss any details.
The head butt is still my favorite 😂
just noticed how tiny Doakes's ears are. no wonder he is so angry all the time
He's got you those Juice WRLD ears
I kinda wish they made Doakes turn to Dexter's side for season 3 instead. Would've been an interesting dynamic where while he doesn't agree with Dexter, he believes that what Dexter does is necessary.
I think Doakes is like Hank from BB, he just would never understand
@@matheusbedeschii He has a black ops background and in one episode, he kills a dude from his past for the crimes that guy committed. "Justified" killings is something I could see Doakes getting behind even if he doesn't like the way it's done.
that woulda been interesting.. doakes and dex coulda taken out alot of dirtbags.
Would be awesome. Having them together would be unstoppable but they're both predators. They can't coexist.
@@EX7Sonic right but Dexter kills out of a compulsion, a need. he just directs it the way he was taught to. if he didn't have a need to kill he wouldn't be doing what he's doing, doakes has done similar things but from a completely different place in his head.
5:53 dexters face was like does this guy stop?
This neighborhood.. is full of crazies (with the flashlight) 😂
Wrong title, it should've been written as "Dexter vs Bay Harbour Butcher" 😂😂😂
3:20 "Nobody paying you to stand around and godamn stare."
Proceeds to stare himself. 😂😂😂
That first "fuck you" was the greatest moment for me, I had to replay it a few times
Let me tell you. I would look up clips on TH-cam of Dexter to look for parts I found were the best and interesting, so hard to find. Thank you much to the admin of this channel for reviving it, you the real MVP.
Dexter was the best show I ever came across, his character literally gave me a third eye to life.
I never seen it ,is it as good as Deadwood or the Sopranos?
@@ianmangham4570 Yes it is.....I would say you would never regret looking at it
Did you like prison break ?

@@ianmangham4570 what’s that mean ? Lol
I remember it almost feeling weird starting a new season after the second one finished
or be like the books, with the brother of Dexter continue appearing and Dr. Danco doing his "stuff"
Right?! That should have been how Deb died, last season didn’t do this show justice at all.
1:33 I’m into you Dexter.
That’s the look of someone with conflicting emotions 😂
@@KoreaWandering He looks at him in a weird flirty way 😅
"In a cargo box" ( I really enjoyed the delivery of that line ) 😂
7:25 a legendary moment in history of mankind is born😂😂😂
HAHAHA I WAS SHOCKED AND SURPRISED WHEN I HEARD IT
I didn’t know it was from this series so I was surprised
I love how they go to Dexter for blood spatter analysis, but they also instinctively ask him about the criminology of psychopaths.
Doakes was the best antagonist man wish it went on for just one more season
"Jesus Christ, man!"
"You said that."
You are here for 7:25. No shame in admitting it. 😆
I’m here for 14:40
i didnt know its from this show
Surprise MF!!
"come on, spin me a theory asshole"
First time watching Dexter and watching the scene I started crying in laughter
Eric King (Doakes) is such a phenomenal actor & played his character to perfection, he managed to be cause chaos for Dexter & be hilarious at the same time, I loved every scene he was in & sadly his obsessiveness to Dexter was the reason he got killed, Hopefully we get more flashbacks with (Micheal C Hall) Dexter & Doakes (Eric King) in the new spin off as if Better call Saul can pull it off to perfection, this series can do it too even if we see Micheal Wearing A Wig like he did playing a younger Dexter in first few seasons 🤩
Just wondering: what other show does Eric king star in? I really loved Doakes
I think Eric King playing the role of Doakes would have him type cast. Who wants to hire an angry guy like that to play anything else. Maybe a scum bag drug dealer would fit.
LaGuerta was trying to get her freak on lol saving Dexter everytime
What a time to be alive when t.v was at it's peak with this show. Tell them i was one of “The Viewers Of Dexter Morgen” 💚🙏
