Ya Andrew I have done that many times with my set for my Weber Kettle. Great way to get a complete sear for sure! I will do a video on that eventually on my new cooker. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video. I just got a Traeger grill about a week ago and have cooked st. Louis ribs, dino beef short ribs and pizza from Papa Murphy’s. All came out excellent. Ordered the grill grates and can’t wait to cook some nice big ribeyes on them.
Awesome and congrats on the Traeger!!!! Great pit and you will find yourself using it all the time!!! Thanks for watching and the GrillGrates are key to a good steak in a pellet grill! I use the backsides sometimes also!!
Oh Heck Yeah Ricer!....those Ribeye Steaks cooked to perfection everytime great job on the Grill Marks and what a hilarious ending thanks for sharing brother. You and your family be safe out there .
Thanks Stephen and ya grillgrates are incredible!! Same to you bro practice social distancing and this will pass. Then we can all laugh at the TP ordeal for a couple decades!! I appreciate you watching bro!! Take care man!!
No you don't. Just set them in there and because the way they are made they run about a 100 degrees hotter than the pit temp. I have a link in the description if you want to look at what GrillGrates has to offer. Thanks for watching!!
I have a set of grates for my Weber Genesis and debating using these on my broil King Regal pellet , Do you find that they throw off the temperature probe for the control module at all? that was my only concern being as they radiate more heat than what the dome would be at.
You certainly can do it both ways. I just did it that way in this video. If I remember correctly I wanted to heat up the regular grates to get some stuff scraped off first. Thanks for watching!!
They heat up pretty evenly especially if you let them preheat for 15 minutes or so. They distribute the heat through the grate but the flame broil is so small it can't touch all of the grates so the outside is cooler so that is why I close the flame broiler so the heat is more even. Get a inferred thermometer and you can test what works best for you!
Hahaha ya I use my grillgrates all the time when I do ribeyes!! So easy to use!! Yes Steeks is Swedish, well I at least think it sounds like it is from Sweden!! ha ha Thanks for watching bro!

I want to use the grill grates on top of the pitboss ones just like this, does the grill grates effect the pitboss ones because they're sitting on top of them getting that hot ? If my question makes sense I hope.
They do not effect the other grates!! I have done used my GrillGrates 100's of times on many different grills and the grates are never effected!! Thanks for watching!!
Awesome video! I've been trying to figure how to sear on my ZGrill 450 which does not have the direct flame option. Did you have your direct flame open on your Pit Boss?
No Mike I had it closed. Get a set of GrillGrates and please use my link in the description if you do, helps me continue making videos like this. GrillGrates because of the material they are made of get about 100° hotter so crank up the Z Grill and preheat those grillgrates and bam you got a sear! You can also use the backside and get a complete sear!! Thanks for watching!
Hey thanks Chris!! Oh well some people don't like hatch marks on their steaks, they want that complete sear. I really don't care as long as they taste good!! Thanks for watching bro!!! Be safe out there!!

Excellent looking steaks Ricer ... Those hatch makes where on point and the flavor combo had to have packed with flavor .. Steaks where cooked perfect and super juicy . Great job brother
Ordered them from Amazon was told they were undeliverable watching this video makes it worth spending the extra few bucks buying them from grillgratea actual site. Have you ever reverse seared with them and if so were the sear marks just as good as a starting sear
When I reverse sear I use the back sides so I get a good complete sear!!! These work awesome in a pellet grill, just need to crank it up!! Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I typically pull right around 125° and by the time they rest for around 5+ minutes they run up to 130° where I prefer my steaks to be done at Thanks for for watching and have a great week!
Looks like you pulled them off at about 120 deg. Resting them for 5 minutes brought them to a nice rare; just the way I like my steaks. I know that competition ribeyes are judged at about a medium temp, I think that's overdone for my taste. BTW, you're absolutely right about the sneeze factor on the Pig Mafia rub. Great video.
Yes the SCA steaks are judged at medium, trickier to nail that 140 temp. Ha ha ya that rub and sucklebusters SPG will catch you in the snot locker also!! Ha ha thanks for watching!

Ya we have a couple around the area still Rob but they aren’t what they used to be like back in the 70’s!! Man I miss those days!! Plus I had a very cool hair style!! Haha thanks for watching bro and be safe!!
So I am trying to decide to get gas or pellet grill. I have never grilled as I grew up as a homeless child and never learned to do stuff I should know. I am 29 and bought my dream home ad can afford nice things now. I see many videos saying you cannot sear on pellet grills as 500 is not hot enough but clearly you did.. Also, I watched some videos of people putting it in at 225° until steak was 110.. Then pulling out in tin foil for min while they got their grill hot.. then do the searing last.. Is this for smoke flavor?
That is called a reverse sear and that is a great way to get a THICK steak evenly cooked. I have a few videos showing that process. Yon can sear on a pellet grill but it REALLY helps to use either a set of grill grates or a cast iron pan to get that sear. Reverse sears are is favorite way to cook a steak on a pellet grill and probably the best results that I have gotten. Pellet grills add a lot more flavor because of the smoke. IMO the best thing is to have a charcoal grill and a pellet grill if you are new to the BBQ and grilling process. Thanks for watching!
I prefer the flat side for a total crust. And… have you tried reverse sear, starting temp 250 till the steak has an internal temp of 120f… pull them off, rest will the Grill Grates heat up at 400 grill temp. Then sear each side 1 minute. YMMV.
Thank you but no I don’t use them on low n slow cooks. They are a heat sink and they will be 100 degrees hotter that the actual pit temp. The anodized aluminum holds some serious heat!! Have a great weekend!!

Folks, Sucklebusters 2 Pig Mafia Steak Seasoning ingredients are Salt,Black pepper,Garlic,Chile powder,Turbinado sugar,Onion,Sugar,Brown sugar,Cumin,Honey powder,Silica. Salt is the #1 ingredient. So, if you are putting on salt and then SB seasoning, just put a handful of salt in your mouth and get it over with. Most of the seasonings out there are salt first and everything else next. SB makes at least one seasoning without any salt. My beef with this, if you'll excuse the pun, is that salt is one of the cheapest seasonings in existence, and you will pay top dollar for a cheap product. I wish these companies would just sell the seasoning without any salt and let me add my own. But anyway, before you go salting your food first and then throw stuff like the SB on it, please look at the ingredients first.
Top-notch Ricer!!! 2 thumbs up!!
Thank you so much and that Two Pig Mafia is no joke!! Dang that has some flavor!!

Nah... Carr Valley Cheese curds from Wisconsin are awesome! Specially if you get the fresh the morning they are made!
Duponts are pretty dang tasty also!!

•What? There’s a barbecue season? You need to move to the Gulf South.
What? You’re a Viking? I thought you were a Packer fan.
Uh oh! Looks like you got the Corona!
Good lookin steak. Good video. Well, except maybe for the air guitar. Well ok maybe that was funny too. (But I might have been laughing at you and not with you during the that air guitar bit. It was actually funnier than the blooper segment.)
Hahahaa Well Lew
Ya up here 50% of the people put away their grills when the snow flies.
I just have Viking bloodlines but I do have Packer License Plates on my car.
Ya caught a bad case of the Corona---but the Lime helps hides the effects! ha ha
Yes I play a mean air guitar---fingers don'y work as good as they did in the big hair days so I hardly play the real guitar now!
Thanks for watching bro and leaving this awesome comment!! Be safe brother!!
Are You opening the heat shield when you do this....Just curious? The Big Stroke..... Brummmmmmmm........gives it away! I think you played it better than Dr. Love! :-) \m/

Ok Boomer, HAHAHAHAHA these steaks were not over salted one bit, but it sounds like you got health issues. Thanks for watching!!
@@DeadBrokeBBQ No health issues to speak of, but I watch what I eat and read labels, which is how I lived long enough to be a living boomer.
Gene Simmons Detroit Rock City
Gene Simmons is correct!!! Thanks for watching!!
I would be happy to eat those steaks 😂
Thanks brother!!! Using grillgrates feels like cheating bro!!
Toilet paper budget 😂😂😂
Ha ha well right now people think they are buying gold!!! Thanks for watching Kevin!!
Dead Broke BBQ Hahahah, just got to you giving your son almost none! Funny stuff man!
So you have 70% of the meat with no sear. Turn those grates over and get 100% sear.
Hahahaha ya Dan I enjoy a complete reverse sear but the crosshatch has a big fan base also!! Thanks for watching and hope you have a great week!!
