    Thank you so very much for a very clear and informative video. I especially appreciate the thoughts about consanguinity and genetic diversification. I have recently experienced a decline in my F1s that were produced by parents from the same blood lines (from the original parents that produced the parents of my current clutch.) I also appreciate the emphasis on water quality. Thank you again.

    The information is very helpful. I did not know about using tank water. Could make a big difference. Also the white containers, its easier to see the fish and state of the water. I lost a lot of my first fry due to bacterial bloom. Hard lesson to learn! Thanks mate. Brine shrimp eggs, I cannot find good ones in Australia.

      I change water as the nitrates go above 20 ppm trick is a clean tank I think if you increase water changes .. do several small volume water changes and that should get them to spawn

    Thankyou for this video very helpful. I am new to breeding angels, I lost the first 2 spawns I have left the 3rd spawn with the parents in the tank with them, they seem to be trying hard to be good parents. I have got a day further with this spawn, I fed a lot of baby brine shrimp and seed shrimp infusoria from a shrimp tank it is a 10 gallon tub 80F with a sponge filter I am worried nitrates may be getting too high theres live plants in there, I will do a water change each day and add more live plants. I won't give up I would like the parents to raise the babies as much as possible and learn they are young it is only their 3rd spawn I am feeding the parents well also.

    • @Firebird894

      I have bred lots of other types of fish mostly smaller fish with fry that are easier to raise I am finding the angelfish a lot harder than other fry I have raised.

    Once you put the fry into the container it appears that you have an air stone and no pump with the fry and you mention you do a water change daily. So my question is do you put anything in the water when you do the water change, is it water from an established tank or new water? Do small fry like this not require beneficial bacteria?

  • @sheilaedmonds5306
    @sheilaedmonds5306 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What kind of tub are you using? I tried the aquarium and failed 😢 I was trying to clean aquarium but I kept suckling up the fry . What is the round sponge? Where do you buy it? I think I over fed. Also I was turning off aquarium lights and waking up with most dead. I saw your video Where you said leaving lights on. I stopped shutting off aquarium lights and have 3 surving . How much do you fed BBS at 1 serving? U seem to know what you are doing. 😊

    Thanks for your video. Very informative! My angelfish just have babies last week. I put them in breeder box in the same tank as parents. Within a week I lost so many babies, almost 90%! Water parameters: nitrite 0, ammonia 0, nitrate 10, ph 7.2, GH 6. What did I do wrong? Please advise. Thanks much!

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The fry need a constant supply of live baby brine shrimp - when they are small about 4 to five times a day feeding with live freshly hatched brine shrimp should get most of them to grow and do well

    Hey Malik. I never thought about using aged aquarium water on water changes for fry, makes a lot of sense.on the tanks with the older 5 week fry are you still using aquarium water or are you now at a fresh water point. Interesting food you showed, 60percent protein, WOW. Super information. 👍👍👍. Thanks for informative video.

      @@AquaMalik one other thing while we are talking about fry. I never did it myself but did you ever consider raising dafnia. Considering the amount of babies you have. From what I've read they don't die in freshwater like brine shrimp. I've never heard anything negative about them, maybe you have? Just wondering on your take on them. Thanks Malik 👋

    • @AquaMalik

      Mark Haunert yeah daphnia is awesome - just to get the levels of my needs I would need a swimming pool size daphnia culture to keep up with demand :) I go through a lot of fry food 🤦‍♂️ haha that’s why I like BBS it’s somewhat on demand and you can literally hatch so much very easily in about 18 hours

      Sometimes when they are stressed or any sudden changes happen they can absorb their eggs back in to their body
