The first time I was messing with the weight and balance it was at night, I hadn't turned on the battery, so I was using the flashlight. After adding some passengers I turned around to see if they were there and in the flashlight they looked so creepy I jumped even though I kind of expected them. 😬
Nice job ! I love this plane but can’t keep it on the runway in XP11 after landing. It handles well in MSFS. Your G1000 knowledge is much appreciated and would love to hear more from you on that. Fantastic video…….Great Job. (Steve A.)
Fantastic review, made me purchase this wonderful aircraft! I think you forgot the fuel conditioner lever in low idle during the whole flight? :O From PoH: "Prior to takeoff, move the fuel condition lever forward to the HIGH IDLE position. Leave the fuel condition lever in this position until after landing. The HIGH IDLE gas generator speeds allow for faster engine acceleration when adding power from an idle condition"
great video. Thank you. I love flying the Caravan. I have thought about getting the Kodiak. It does look like a more hands on plane to fly. I enjoyed you explaining everything.
First of all, Great video, great channel. Thanks for sharing your extensive knowledge with us simmers. Now, I noticed you kept the condition levers in low iddle all the way through TO, climb and cruise…. Did you forget, or is it something possible to do in the kodiak? And I did not notice any performance downgrade from that…. Again, wrong model design or just something normal?
I have not used P2A in sometime but when I did it did not provide a First Officer but it did provide good Voice ATC. Have I missed something? Oh! I’m thinking of First Office Next. My bad
Nice video and agree on the Kodiak. I don’t agree with the sentence: all looks good as expected on a MSFS model. Why: the CAD data comes straight from Daher so this model is not what you expect from all MSFS models. This is the only afaik being 100% real. Check out screws on the closing mechanism on the doors. Even the screws are modelled.
@@A330Driver it can’t be stressed enough what a huge difference the 3D model ist. There is no other plane that is 100% real. That’s also the reason the Kodiak has a big loading time compared to all other planes (Xbox loading plane +10-15 sec). Replica vs real world CAD data
Good video. I know is set all up when landing and take off, but can you explain me how to use the propeller in taxi, climb, cruise and descend operations? Sorry for my English. Thanks a lot and regards.
I start from dark position, i switch on the battery and as soon as I activate the fuel levers on start an alarm. If I put the fuel levers off the alarm disappear. Obviouslyalso when I run the engine, the alarm quits. Is that Normal? I noted in your video that you got no alarm when you switched on the fuel levers
So you suggest to adjust rudder trim before take off and keep that for all the flight? Are you right, control speed is not easy in the approach phase. What you suggest to control the flare? I get some bumping land due to the incorrect flare I suppose
I think the main problem with flare in MSFS is that the basic sims flight dynamics are don't do it quite right. In the real world it's super easy to put the plane right on the threshold, regardless if it's a C172, a PA28, you-name-it, while in MSFS they always want to float until the mid point.
Is it possible the autopilot disconned on approach because the go around altitude you entered was below your current altitude, so the AP regarded it as a restriction and levelled off there ?
When you fly IFR at FL080 you are still in E airspace in Germany. In real life, is this an issue as ATC can not "control" the VFR traffic? Is IFR "common" below FL010? Thank you !👍
You have to look out the window, in E airspace, even when IFR, the see and avoid rule applies. You will have to give way to aircraft coming from your right. In my company we don't fly faster than 220kt when inside class E airspace and VFR could be expected. We try to avoid class E airspace as much as possible, but many of our destinations have nothing but class E airspace around, then we apply the above procedure.
The Caravan and the Kodiak were NOT designed for "the same thing" the Caravan was designed for FedEx to haul boxes. The Kodiak was specifically designed for "Mission" work - to get in and out of remote, unimproved fields. The Kodiak is a STOL aircraft and can take off and land in under 1.000 feet at gross weight. Look similar - two totally different aircraft.
@@A330Driver thanks for the PFD rudder indicator, never rudder trim in my whole flight sim life before this video. certainly the best GA, but hand flying is sure tiring with constant elevator trim to keep flight level. good day captain

With „looks“ I mostly refer to the graphics and not the 3d model accuracy, even though you’re right that it also plays a part in it.

Fantastic ac. Right up there!
Thanks for showing this plane, I love flying it. As a Boeing pilot, would you also consider showcasing the Boeing 247D? ;-)

Why do the FSHud voices sound like they are talking through a long tunnel? Weird choice of effect by the dev.
Or over a tannoy system. It sounds so weird!
What’s the instrument above the G1000? The one with all the dots & lights - what does it do?
Sir, you talk about FPS but I see you mouse clicking all over the screen. How many displays do you use?
What did you do to have a nice departure, mine it seems the aircraft will fly by itself, a steep climb
Sir, what Throttle setup do you use for the Kodiak and how have you bound the Fuel ( Mixture) Throttle and Prop? Thanks

Yes, indeed.

yeah... would be lovely!
Is it possible the autopilot disconned on approach because the go around altitude you entered was below your current altitude, so the AP regarded it as a restriction and levelled off there ?
Nope, that wasn't it, mine did the same thing this morning 1000' above the selected altitude. More trial and error required :)

How do you have your throttle mapped. I can’t mine below 20% on approach
Just the standard MSFS assignment. I use the same for pretty much all aircraft.
@@A330Driver what throttle quadrant?
Does the "Governor Overspeed test" switch work?
It's been a while, not sure anymore to be honest. I'd recommend to ask the devs.

It might be anachronistic but is this plane supposed to come with steam gauges in the future? I can't stand the screens :-D
Not as far as I know.
