it's really cheap for a simulator but you get what you pay for: it's completely worth it's price, but single, professional grade aircraft alone are between 30€ and 80€. (30€ for simple GA, 80€ for complex airliners). The sim itself is worth the price of entry for the A330 and the other well made planes alone.
It hurts to shell out $150 and have to deal with such a half-baked piece of sh*t. Now we have to wait 2 years for them to iron out all these bugs. As a long time user (38 years of MSFS) with VR, I feel we are definitely being left out here. Maybe the casual xbox gamer is having a wonderful time in MSFS 2024
sure feels like it was geared more towards the casual xbox market as opposed to the hardcore simmer. Its a shame but I knew it would happen when they released 2020 on xbox
FWIW -- I just tried flying the 737-MAX in FS2024. I started 'ready-to-go' on the runway, and the plane took-off and flew just fine! The simulator had the trim preset at '5'.
Having seen a number of MSFS 2024 videos where people have all kinds of different problems with pretty much all planes, I'm wondering whether part of the problem is in the initial loading of the aircraft from the cloud. It maybe thinks it's downloaded everything , but in reality a whole bunch of functionality is missing that when you try to use it just causes unpredictable behaviour. I just find it hard to believe that Asobo/MS would release aircraft with such fundamentally flawed properties.
I know it shouldn't behave like that when you apply full elevator up deflection. However, the FMC calculated trim position is 5.25, but the arrow in the elev trim indicator during the take-off run is on the top of green band, which is like 2.00 to 2.75? Why is that? Did you forget to adjust the trim?
Worse than the Bredok 737 Max in FS 2020. At least that flew. A lot of parts of the sim seem to be broken, I passed my PPL Checkride with a plane that had no engine sounds, no flaps, no trim, and no brakes. Now I'm let loose with ferry flights............. This sim is like The Parson's Nose. Good in parts. Glad you posted this, I hope Asobo see it. All those presentations look a bit hollow now.. They have a mountain to climb before MSFS 2020 is put out to pasture. As usual another great video Emi.
i noticed your trim... is not quite right? Or the trim is not working properly? If it is the trim, then why the takeoff config warning has not gone off? That's another broken thing in this aircraft...
Appears the steering column wasn’t calibrated. What kind of controller were you using to fly? Joystick? Mouse? Wheel? I find after some upgrades I have to recalibrate a number of controls, sometimes at the Operating System level.
Sign up on Game Pass for a few months, it's relatively cheap, and you will get access to about 500 other games too while you periodically check in on MSFS 24 eg. STALKER 2 just launched too, and the new Indiana Jones game will drop on the 6th.
At 32:10, when you were trying to find TOGA clickspot, looks like you accidentally switched something to the right of the throttles. Could that be stabiliser trim cut-off switch?)
By any chance did you re-bind the 2024 shift-1 , shift-2 view selector to the 2020 style control-1 control-2 keys? If so it's actually colliding with 2024's autopilot bindings (control-1 toggles on autopilot for example).. could be why it's fighting you. also try takeoff with eng bleed and packs off for extra power, then turn them on after take-off before getting to higher altitude. no idea for sure, I had this happen to me twice and then fixed it and not 100% sure how.
For the lights on the pressurization panel and radio tuners on the pedestal- I noticed the brightness knobs were all the way dimmed on both panels. Just curious if you've tried those and if that was it. IRL those panels are unreadable in daylight if you don't turn them up almost all the way. Not that it matters if you can't actually fly the plane. Guess I'll be sticking with my iFly MAX in MSFS 2020 for the time being... Although you might have sold me on upgrading to '24 for that 321XLR...
Did you check your trim settings during the takeoff roll? Sometimes for me it just randomly sets the trim to maximum nose down, but that might be a problem for me only.
Unrelated question but can those engine and other inlet covers be disabled completely in the sim? It seems annoying and unrealistic to have those in place each time you start a flight. (I dont't have the 2024 sim yet but I see those in every video I've watched so I'm wondering...)
1. I have purchased MSFS 2024 too and installation went without any issue. It takes me like 30mins to load even with 1gb internet connection. 2. I agree with you about the MAX 100%. I fly frequently the MAX (Ifly) but couldn't get along with the 2024 version. 3.I will continue flying 2020 till all probs on 2024 are sort out.
I'm sure the load is now fixed and the problems with the MAX too. I doubt any problems remain, Asobo and MS have had enough time to fix the Tuesday Launch of the product. I'll try a little bit later on and find out.
This thing puzzles me as well I have done a couple of flights with it in the sim. To get the screens on the bottom center to show up (the ones you had no power on) you must turn on the brightenss using the switch at the bottom for whatever reason it is tied to that. First couple of flights I was able to do normal flights and then today when I tried it again I had the same issue as you I couldn't get the damn thing of the ground no matter how hard I pulled. Then when I restarted I couldn't get Engine No. 1 started it was just refusing to start even though 2 started normally I checked the PACKS bleed air everything it just refused to start. I also noticed you can't set the cruise altitude in the overhead pannel like you pointed out as well as the elec being all over the place. This thing is a bit dissapointing hopefully they update it. I was excited to have a 737max but I guess not.
@@Aeroknotswell if it was outside the limit we should have gotten a takeoff config warning. We didn’t so it must have been within limits. And in that case it should fly. Perhaps with full up elevator needed but I did pull all the way and nothing happened. So there’s significant bugs here one way or the other.
Am I glad that I am not the only real world pilot that struggles with this SIM. So far I have found most airliners un-flyable. Lots of work for MS and ASOBO to get through.
If you have a Navigraph subscription, you can even plan the simbrief plan inside EFB and also have navigraph charts functionality inside the EFB. When you export from Navigraph charts inside EFB, it will autopopulate the FMC and the ATC plan.
Last night was flying the Fenix SL in 2020 was like coming home from a bad trip, and sitting in your favourite chair. As long as they fix it by then fine everything else I now don’t care.
Absolutely I love flying the PMDG 737 and now I find out even they are issues porting to the new sim. I didn’t buy MSFS 24 to fly default airplanes that hardly work themselves. It’s just very frustrating.
@@ghurghust i am sure that this is not inibuilds decision alone, i think asobo told inibuilds about this idea to try and convince people about the importance of our new sim and forcing people to buy it, because if you think about it you will find that inibuilds developing the a350 in msfs 2020 sdk so why not to release it for both sims🤔 and the same for the a330 and other ini aircraft that carried this sim
Trim was within the takeoff range (otherwise the takeoff config warning would have sounded). As long as it is within the green band the airplane is safe to fly and takeoff. The FCTM is very clear about this. You might need to use full control inputs, but I did and it still didn't react.
@@A330Driver It's barely in the green band. I fly the max daily, it needs trim around 7-7.5. Looking at the trim at 31:39, it's barely set at 3 or something. Of course it should still rotate to some extent but come on, you'll never see a Max8 with the trim set that low.
@@JFSoutboards But how does the trim matter? We didn't get a takeoff config warning so we were safe to fly. Of course, some additional elevator might be needed, but I pulled full back. The airplanes reaction can not be explained by the trim.
If Asobo spent as much time on the herds of cows, photorealistic rocks, and flowers that wave in the breeze as they did on things that matter to actual flight, FS 24 would be a level D simulator. BTW since we know that the old MCAS is modeled, did you check to see if the rear door plug also fell off?
You didn't set the trim as 5.25 on TO page, but rather left it on the forward edge of green band. I don't blame you as there is so much bugs happening in the per-flight, really break the flow.... And while you should still able to climb out in the green band, not with the yoke rubber band back to neutral..
On a serious note, I was actually going to say, that after he pulled the yoke back, I didn't ever hear the trim wheels turn, so I wondered if it might be a trim issue.
The entire MSFS2024 franchise needed to be baked a lot more before declaring it ready for consumer consumption. Got my Aviator Edition refunded I’ll wait until this hot mess is sorted out. MSFS2020 for me in the meantime thank you.
Agree so pleased I kept it this 2024 flightsim will take ages to get right it all feels abit rushed It feels like eating a half cooked chicken that’s pink in the middle you just don’t do it
Commenting only on what I saw happening in the video, nothing more nothing less. 09:31 CG 6% extreme forward center of gravity, and the fuel tanks empty. 11:14 FMS screams unable crz altitude, insufficient fuel (!!) 22:59 T/O trim was not set, instead it's set to nose down -5 26:48 "So, we do wanna go flying, and if anything goes wrong, I guess we'll see about it." Attempted take-off with almost no fuel board, extreme forward center of gravity and outside of take-off trim limit set to a nose down attitude. Using a flex/derated thrust didn't give a lot of margin for error because the engines were not producing full thrust. When the plane wouldn't take off and slammed into the runway nose first, instead of cutting his losses and aborting (it was already past V1), trying to pull the nose up right into max alpha and stick shaker at low speed.
If I aborted any video for any reason to abort a flight in the real world we'd barely be flying anything at all in any sim. However to comment on your findings: 09:31: As you can see at a later point when we import the CG in the FMS it's actually at a lot more reasonable value. What you see there is the cruise CG and that is not a value detected or sensed by the FMC, but something the airline inserts as default value. It's 5 on all 737's I've flown in my life. That value means nothing in regards to the actual load. 11:14: Check this out: th-cam.com/video/xctXHZDoWAM/w-d-xo.html 22:59: Where do you see it at -5 units? I can't see that in the vid. 26:48: Again, if you grounded sim airplanes for every bug you wouldn't be flying at all. With the above we can conclude that your statement about my takeoff is incorrect. In regards to your last statement: The plane would have broken apart at that first mometn slamming into the runway, there wouldn't have been any decision making after that anymore lol
Has there been a fix for this. Im so frustrated. Plane falls out of the sky right after takeoff and is also really hard to get off the ground. Only happens from a cold and dark start. HELP MEEEE.
I have exactly the same issues with the aircraft. Radios don't work neither does battery display or pressurization panel. You mentioned about the in-game charts for the A330. This is available via the pop-out EFB from the in-game toolbar at the top.
I have the feeling that mouse inputs (to look around) interfere with joystick inputs for the primary controls. I did the PPL license (certificate if you ask FAA) and after landing i almost missed the taxiway because my rudder was stuck - i was panning with the mouse and gave rudder inputs with the usb rudder pedals at the same time, which I think was the rootcause for my control input issue.
That’s because it’s a default aSobo plane. Now the default Ini planes are pretty decent for what I seen. But I haven’t even been able to take off in the max because I can’t get the GPU to connect the APU to start and I can’t be in the sim for more than two minutes without it crashing.
I was doing the “learn airliners” thing in the activities page of MSFS2024 - it was a take-off and ILS landing with the Boeing 737 Max 8 into LFMN Nice Côte d’Azur. The takeoff page of the FMC says that the trim is supposed to be 6.50, and when you trim the aircraft to 6.50, it rotates well before even the V1 speed, I remember the VR was 132 and the V2 142. Then, you’re fighting a battle to death trying to make it climb with a constant pitch attitude. Coming in for a landing, the auto-throttle does not work, even though the button is pushed with the green lighted bar displayed. The localizer for Nice is totally botched; it tells you the runway is like two miles to the right than where it actually is. It handles weirdly. The one upside is that the yoke movement on screen isn’t 15 FPS like before in the PMDG 737NG series of MSFS2020.
@@venmal1805 The launch was a shitshow, for sure. But for the last two days I've been enjoying the hell out of it. Now, I'm not that much into airliners and enjoy GA more, so the Career Mode has been an absolute blast. My biggest issue so far has been needing to shut down last night because the power went out and my inverter wouldn't carry my PC for long... and I had to keep fans running for the family as it was pretty hot. Honestly, MSFS is pretty good for folks when it works and they can get in. Sure it has bugs that could have been handled better, but it will get fixed and it will be enjoyed.
I think something got screwed up in your streaming data... I was able to fly a flight with the fs24 737Max just fine on day 1 of fs24 (the second try, since I forgot to remove pitot covers the first time). Even the "gen off bus" lights illuminated for me and the AC panel wasn't blacked out. I'd give it another try when you're at home on your stable internet. EDIT: Not that it was perfect... you had proper colors for your ADI, but, for me, they were bright yellow and bright teal, making it impossible to see the green annunciators. But once I got past that, it actually seemed to fly properly.
@andy70d35 and that's fine. It doesn't really change the fact that he rushed his review, didn't prepare the plane accordingly, not sure about his controls setup, and came to the conclusion it was sh*t made by monkeys. Did you fly the Max? It went smoothly for me and lots of other people. And yes, I'm going to doubt this guy's real pilot claim, because in my circle of pilots I don't know anyone that does, rash judgements. Thank goodness. Enough on that, we ought to do more flying and less messaging ✈️😊
Plane's been giving me serious issues as well. For whatever reason, the avionics and the rest of the cockpit black out as soon as I cross the runway threshold, and the thrust levers lock to full power as well. No matter how hard I try to bring them back, they always snap back to where they're stuck. After that, the plane either crashes or the game does, lmao. The plane's beautiful, but the actual flight experienced ruins it. Hopefully, they'll fix it in the relatively near future. Fingers crossed.

@@SwiftractPtss must've been set just touching the green band then, but still out of trim. That's assuming that this default aircraft actually simulates the Takeoff Config Warning. 🙂
@@keynoteFlyer Yep. This was pilot error, or deliberate.
@@Cartman420 Did you not finish the video or something? The flight controls literally jumped back to neutral while he was pulling back full. Explain to me how that is a 737 feature. There is absolutely no way people are this stupid
You are stabbed at 3 on takeoff, performance calculator calls for 5.25. There is nothing wrong with the aircraft, it did exactly what it was designed to do....nose down.
I can totally feel the Boeing spokesman in your official statement to the public!
@@HerrinSchadenfreude Funny 🤣 Not a Boeing spokesman, just a general pilot statement that applies to any aircraft you fly starting beyond a C150.
"737 max doing 737 max things" absolutely killed me 🤣 good stream though. this software is rather bizzare for the price. i'll give it a miss
it's really cheap for a simulator but you get what you pay for: it's completely worth it's price, but single, professional grade aircraft alone are between 30€ and 80€. (30€ for simple GA, 80€ for complex airliners).
The sim itself is worth the price of entry for the A330 and the other well made planes alone.
Seems like the nosediving 737 max is quite accurate based on the last couple of years of Boeing history.
34:29 These cows are looking at you and thinking, what a nice bull parked here LOL
Thank you for your video!! Why you didn't set the trim to 5.25?
The cows at the end looked good 😉
Simulated to a far higher level than the plane......................
Man, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. It flew just like the real thing! Thanks for that.

Gotta admit…this is the most hilarious flight sim review video since NerdCubed took on FSX all those many years ago.
Appears the steering column wasn’t calibrated. What kind of controller were you using to fly? Joystick? Mouse? Wheel? I find after some upgrades I have to recalibrate a number of controls, sometimes at the Operating System level.
i decide to wait for more mature version of MSFS2024, thank you sir!
i just got done downloading all world updates for msfs 2020 after refunding msfs 2024
Sign up on Game Pass for a few months, it's relatively cheap, and you will get access to about 500 other games too while you periodically check in on MSFS 24
eg. STALKER 2 just launched too, and the new Indiana Jones game will drop on the 6th.
At 32:10, when you were trying to find TOGA clickspot, looks like you accidentally switched something to the right of the throttles. Could that be stabiliser trim cut-off switch?)
Apologies for the inconvenience we are going to have to disembark back to the terminal, thank you for your patience.
Breaking News: Boeing Pilot found with "Self Inflicted wounds" more at Five. Jane.
“Not killing the cows” absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂
MCAS activated :D
Did I miss where you set the take off trim? Ive not flown the Max in the sim yet but about to start. It has had a number of recent updates
Asobo looked at forgot to put the word max when searching for 737 MAX 8 specs and instead looked at 737-800 specs
“737 Max doing 737 Max things“ great 🤣🤣🤣
For the lights on the pressurization panel and radio tuners on the pedestal- I noticed the brightness knobs were all the way dimmed on both panels.
Hahaha "they have a working MCAS" 🤣
Did you check your trim settings during the takeoff roll? Sometimes for me it just randomly sets the trim to maximum nose down, but that might be a problem for me only.
737 max doing its things 😂😂😂 that is hillarious!
Unrelated question but can those engine and other inlet covers be disabled completely in the sim? It seems annoying and unrealistic to have those in place each time you start a flight. (I dont't have the 2024 sim yet but I see those in every video I've watched so I'm wondering...)
No idea... I suspect you're seeing it a lot right now because everyone is gushing over the fact they made the walk around mode.
Bro you forgot the trim it was at 2 or something close
Yup! It was trimmed Nose-down outside of normal Take off limits.. Can't believe he forgot to set the trim for Take off! lmao
I know. I think he forgot that he was flying Boeing, not Airbus.
@@MohamedMachkour-b6h Rookie mistake from a former "IRL Max PIlot". 🙌
@@Aeroknotswell if it was outside the limit we should have gotten a takeoff config warning. We didn’t so it must have been within limits. And in that case it should fly. @@A330Driver well the the 737 max 8 was really nicely modeled coz it was made by Asobo
Classic Asobo. I'm glad we have the iFly to work with instead, hopefully we can transfer it to 2024 soon
I’m realistic about 2024 but overall atm I’m not filled with a lot of confidence at present. For sure it will get better but this isn’t what I was expecting. I carnt use most of the planes as they just don’t load. I’m more annoyed that A350 won’t come to 2020 and have put up with this 2024 crap to fly it. Was a dream now a probable nightmare 😅. As long as they fix it by then fine everything else I now don’t care.
exactly, i don't know why Inibuilds decided to release A350 only in MSFS 2024
Absolutely I love flying the PMDG 737 and now I find out even they are issues porting to the new sim. I didn’t buy MSFS 24 to fly default airplanes that hardly work themselves. It’s just very frustrating.
@@ghurghustBecause it might be a marketing trick to get 2020 players to 2024. Afterall, iniBuilds and Asobo are partnered up.
Any new software is always buggy. Over the next week or two they’ll roll out patches to fix stuff.
Speaking as a non pilot, did you set the elevator trim before T/O?
I'm glad that I didn't wait for default max and got the ifly 😂
how did you get the nose wheel to work? In career mode it doesn't move so steering is bad.
Take off trim wasn't set. Come on.
I set it up before then it said the plane crashed when I pressed TO/GA...
5.25 was what the FMC was indicating, it's clearly wrong as I said but still, you didn't set the trim to 5.25.
@@JFSoutboards But how does the trim matter? We didn't get a takeoff config warning so we were safe to fly. Of course, some additional elevator might be needed, but I pulled full back. The airplanes reaction can not be explained by the trim.
Elevator trim set properly? It looked nose down to me but still within the green.
Atleast they have working cows💀
If Asobo spent as much time on the herds of cows, photorealistic rocks, and flowers that wave in the breeze as they did on things that matter to actual flight, FS 24 would be a level D simulator. BTW since we know that the old MCAS is modeled, did you check to see if the rear door plug also fell off?
whats up Emi? did you forget how to fly the Max on that take off? 🤣
Thank you for a great video and good laughs. I love the sim community!
It was in the green band so it definitely shouldnt pitch down that abruptly
Were you trimming up when u got airbone? i think ur trim controls were reversed , idk tho
The entire MSFS2024 franchise needed to be baked a lot more before declaring it ready for consumer consumption. Got my Aviator Edition refunded I’ll wait until this hot mess is sorted out. MSFS2020 for me in the meantime thank you.
Me too! Call me when they fix this disaster.
Agree so pleased I kept it this 2024 flightsim will take ages to get right it all feels abit rushed
It feels like eating a half cooked chicken that’s pink in the middle you just don’t do it
How do you learn what each nobs do is that in the setting anywhere ? I’m not a pilot but it seems you have to be a pilot to know what they do.
Commenting only on what I saw happening in the video, nothing more nothing less.
09:31 CG 6% extreme forward center of gravity, and the fuel tanks empty.
11:14 FMS screams unable crz altitude, insufficient fuel (!!)
22:59 T/O trim was not set, instead it's set to nose down -5
26:48 "So, we do wanna go flying, and if anything goes wrong, I guess we'll see about it."
Attempted take-off with almost no fuel board, extreme forward center of gravity and outside of take-off trim limit set to a nose down attitude.
However to comment on your findings:
09:31: As you can see at a later point when we import the CG in the FMS it's actually at a lot more reasonable value. What you see there is the cruise CG and that is not a value detected or sensed by the FMC, but something the airline inserts as default value. It's 5 on all 737's I've flown in my life. That value means nothing in regards to the actual load.
11:14: Check this out: th-cam.com/video/xctXHZDoWAM/w-d-xo.html
22:59: Where do you see it at -5 units? I can't see that in the vid.
26:48: Again, if you grounded sim airplanes for every bug you wouldn't be flying at all.
With the above we can conclude that your statement about my takeoff is incorrect.
In regards to your last statement: The plane would have broken apart at that first mometn slamming into the runway, there wouldn't have been any decision making after that anymore lol
Has there been a fix for this. Im so frustrated. Plane falls out of the sky right after takeoff and is also really hard to get off the ground. Only happens from a cold and dark start. HELP MEEEE.
Your copilot bailed on you. She did like many others in marriage, hit a little turbulence and she’s nowhere to be found 😂.
Hey sir do you have an issue with the max were the mcp lights are difficult, the green engaged lights, lnav vnav flight director
I just flew the max for 400 miles and it was perfectly fine for me.
i also had issues with it
I have exactly the same issues with the aircraft. Radios don't work neither does battery display or pressurization panel. You mentioned about the in-game charts for the A330. This is available via the pop-out EFB from the in-game toolbar at the top.
Microsoft Bug Simulator.
That aircraft is insulting the whole community. A slap in the face.
That’s because it’s a default aSobo plane. Now the default Ini planes are pretty decent for what I seen. But I haven’t even been able to take off in the max because I can’t get the GPU to connect the APU to start and I can’t be in the sim for more than two minutes without it crashing.
I can't get the flaps level to work on the Velocityone Flightstick, and the trim roller isn't working either.
Pretty sure this one should be chalked up to operator error 😂
Thanks for the video. PC questions for you, are you locking your frames rate?
You know, it might actually work better if you trim the plane at some point ;)
Nope, trim wouldn't have an effect like this ;-)
I was doing the “learn airliners” thing in the activities page of MSFS2024 - it was a take-off and ILS landing with the Boeing 737 Max 8 into LFMN Nice Côte d’Azur.
The one upside is that the yoke movement on screen isn’t 15 FPS like before in the PMDG 737NG series of MSFS2020.
when msfs 2020 came remember how bad it was now look at 2024 and imagine where it will be sky the limit!
I don't care what happens to it as long as it remains on the cloud. I will stay with X-plane and 2020 until then.

It's a long term investment 😊
They'll have like 200 extra planes they can fly instead, so I'm sure they'll be fine.
Your stab trim is set to 3 units....I don't think I ever took off with a 737 with less than 5.75, and that's with 120 pax
Exactly. No way this bird was taking off with that trim settings. But hey, he's "real 737 pilot". Sure hope not.
@@guillaume_69 As long as the trim is in the green the REAL 737 Max will take off, you might need FULL elevator, but it will take off.
Looks like your trim is set to max nose down within the takeoff range, highly unusual, have you tried the T.O. again with it set in the mid range?
Plane's been giving me serious issues as well. For whatever reason, the avionics and the rest of the cockpit black out as soon as I cross the runway threshold, and the thrust levers lock to full power as well. No matter how hard I try to bring them back, they always snap back to where they're stuck. After that, the plane either crashes or the game does, lmao. The plane's beautiful, but the actual flight experienced ruins it. Hopefully, they'll fix it in the relatively near future. Fingers crossed.
I didn't notice where you set the trim for takeoff or flaps. I'm not sure if flaps are necessary.
I don't recall you setting to trim during take off ref init or did miss that?
