  • During my 12th trip to Beijing I had the opportunity study the modern Kung Fu style Sanda. This was my first exposure to the art and I absolutely fell in love with it. Here are some of the basic footwork drills I was taught early in my training under the guidance former Chinese Special Forces operative MaGuoHong. More videos to come on striking and kicks.

backwards moving is great. doing it with relaxation and sinking to heels makes it much more balanced and efficient, I practice it this way a lot. I like a lot of what this guy is doing. thanks for posting.

Thank you for posting this interesting video of your unique experiences
It is interesting to compare the idea behind the backwards boxing shuffle to the key concept of ba gua zhang, which is continuous movement.

Yes! I use the backwards shuffle to abuse my friends in wushu training all the time. But the problem is if the floor is slippery it doesn't work as well. One time as I was play fighting(I'm a student) with my classmates I thought I could mess them up a little with backwards shuffle but I ended up embarrassing myself by slipping and falling. Turns out I was too used to the mats
