  • Hello my friends!
Here we go. Matt and I are actually doing this. I think we never thought we would or could make such a big move. We are moving from Ontario to Nova Scotia. We have been very comfortable in the lives we were living in our small town in Ontario. We new what to expect every day. We woke up at the same time everyday, we went to bed tired by 8pm, our motivation was slipping to do much of anything. While we loved being close to family we had an itch to try something different. Did it need to be so far away maybe, is it the right time to try something new, would it ever be the right? Well now we can stop asking the all of the questions and start seeking the answers. I will say the first week was by far the hardest week so far. The house didn't quite meet our expectations, we missed family so much it hurt (and still does)and felt so alone and completely overwhelmed. Overwhelmed by the amount of work and money that the house needs, by emotions of feeling like a failure as a Mom and thinking that I am not worthy of taking this step, by not knowing where to find our basic needs in a town/city we don't know....but then we would look at the lake we live on and hear loons singing to each other, or we would head into town and look down a street to see the Ocean. It some ways it feels like my eyes have been shut for such a long time and I am just starting to open them again. The hard days filled with back breaking effort starting to change the house into a home.... well kind of! We are still very much working on that. The sad facetime calls that would leave me in pieces for hours, days and nights are starting not to be as sad. I love talking to Taya and singing to Oliver while Taya points the screen to his face..... poor kid.... my singing sucks!!! Tristan wants to see everything we are doing and Kyra sends pictures and videos of T learning to use power tools. As I am writing this all I think of is their faces and how much I want to hug them. Missing them is hard but I still think this was something that Matt and I needed to do/try. Thanks for being so chill while we were are finding our footing here. I can't wait to start touring around this beautiful province and seeing everything that it has to offer! I post weekly vlogs and would be so happy for you hang out with me every week. Please like and subscribe!
    Have a great week!
    Love Ya,
    Leslie

      Thank you Amy!
It's super hard being away from everyone. I knew it was going to be hard but I didn't think it would be this hard!!!
You should come to NS and scout out some locations that you are interested in. I love where we have landed.... we got lucky given we didn't see the area or the house until we got here!

You guys are doing what I have been thinking about for some time now. I can certainly understand all the emotions. Thats one of the reasons I haven't made the move yet, not sure if I can be away from the kids. Appreciate you sharing. Fingers crossed that the house gets cleaned up quickly for you, mold is not easy to deal with.

mould and mildew are the same thing it.ll make you sick as a dog ...don't unwrap your furniture because once you start cleaning and disturbing the mould the spores will attach to all your belongings and youll have to end up tossing it all out ..... that house needs remediation before you put any belongings in it

      Hi there!
You are 100% right. We were so freaked out and disheartened when we turn the lights on and saw the state we were in!!!
