Does the plate side covers get in the way of the shifter or brake lever?

Did you feel like the product was thick/sturdy? Trying to decide between this and a metal skid. Thanks in advance!

The plastic plate feels plenty study and is a bit lighter than having a metal one. It also covers the linkage arm which I wasn't able to find on the metal ones I viewed.

i didnt care for this item the fact that you have to eremove it to check or fill your oil was a turn off also to do an oil change
