I am in the process of installing new valve seals on my 90 gt. I found this video and it was the most helpful by far that explained how to torque rockers back down with the lower intake on. Thank you very much!!!!!
Thank you !!I'm so happy to hear it has been helping..thanks fornthe support I'm in the process now of a complete engine build if you haven't seen it yet
Another way is to start at No. 1. TDC. Your balancer will be at 0 degrees. Turn 90 degrees for each set and follow firing order of 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8. This is for the 5.0 HO motor. Also I put assembly lube on cup of rocker and lifter detent. Good job there bud.
In the haynes manual it has a process of marking the balancer at 180 degrees and 270 degrees respectively to check valve clearances, are these two processes the same thing? It mentions something about a lifter compressing tool.
What does it mean when my pushrod still can spin when lifter is all the way down. The rocker arm also has a little play. When my lifter is up there is no play and pushrod turn. Most of my turns where between 1/4 and 1/2 of a turn.@foxbodygarageamerica9382
Thank you for the video! I have a 1995 cobra stock GT-40 heads and pedestal roller rockers. Getting valve noise. They do not have locks just star bolts on pedestal. Do I do the same method?
@@foxbodygarageamerica9382 the window AU XR8 200kw has a Tickford cam and 1.7 yellowterra rollers and the 220kw has black Crane rollers. I have on of each. But my dayley drive ute is 185 kw. It's done 422.000, overheated it 20 time but still runs sweet. But Still tempted. I'll let you know
I did yes,was just for my.own clarification as when I try to torque my rocker bolts down I get zero lash then less than a quarter turn starts to open the valves, all original parts to the engine after a headgasket replacement.
I did what the book says and even looked it up online and it says no adjustments needed. But then when I finished it the rockers and push rods where loose. I even rotated the engine and still loose.
I have a question? Im working on a 99 3.8 v6 and im just trying to adjust the valves but this engine dont have a distributor. So if i adjust #1 hwo would i know when to adjust the next one in the firing order. Ive read something about 120 degrees, is there a tool to put on the crankshaft for this? Or can i bar the engine over and just wait for the compression stroke and then slowly check the next valves that need adjustment?
This is THE BEST video explaining this
Best walk thru I have seen thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!

yes thanks that is another way by indexing balancer just i feel its easier to make a mistake doing like that !!

I also have a new cam, springs, and lifters.
I think I need a longer pushrod
So question if you have the intake off where you can see the lifters do you still have to follow the firing order
Best video and the best accent!
thanks so much appreciate you !
Best video I’ve seen
Thanks. I appreciate you for the support !

Yes you do pedestal rockers in order for adjustments you either shim them or change pushrod length
Saludos, buen video sera posible una vercion en español ya que no entiendo bien el igles Gracias y bendiciones
thanks 👍
Hi is this method good for the 351? Not familiar with fords I'm a 350 guy but want to get into the fords now.
also what 351 years are roller cam?
yes it is same methods
Have you tried cleveland 1.73 stanpped rockers on these 5.o ltrs. I wonder if they will interchage.
Have not done it before

Factory book says no adjustments on these bolt down rockers, torque down and job done..?
If you watch the video it is explained the differences

That's good 👍 reason you only get a 1/4 turn is because the lifters are pumped up still
But yet I can't torque them, still finger tight.
I did what the book says and even looked it up online and it says no adjustments needed. But then when I finished it the rockers and push rods where loose. I even rotated the engine and still loose.
Hey buddy do you soak your lifters first or do you adjust them dry?
yes soak them sorry for late response
What size are stock pushrods mine are 6.25 inches long and im getting a lot of preload before reaching torque specs
Thats correct length for stock but there is many variables

Forget all that just do 1cylnder at a time no mistakes or confusion
Will that Malibu build be getting a cam swap ? Also will that be the next build after this motor ?
Yes friend we will be doing the LS swap probably in the next week
On the base circle... Rocker arm fulcrm bolts 18-25 ft/lbs. End of story
If you don't achieve the torque spec with in 1/2 to 1 full turn pushrod is wrong length
Great video. What rocker arms are those?
I have 1 that took 1 full turn
double check and make sure
why does he sound like gru lol
😆
