#Lexus #LC500 #Convertible
DREAM CAR. Beautiful
Lexus knocked it out the park with this. That interior… that design. There’s nothing else on the market like it. I wished Lexus made a F model with 600hp.
I’m on my 6th Lexus. The build quality the ride and the appearance make it a keeper. Will probably stick with Lexus for future cars
Its my dream car too!
My 2023 Convertible is on order. Should be here in time for spring. Can’t wait 🏖️
This Lexus LC500 Convertible is Stunning!!! The Sound of the NAV8 Engine is Amazing! In a transformational moment, experience the soft top folding back and the Convertible coming out….it is a Moment!!! If you haven’t experienced it for yourself, drive one….sound, touch, and the open road…just picture it! Well Done! You captured the Why!
Best affordable car ever made, I've owned a 2019 coupe since 5 months ago and I still get the wow factor when I approach iteverytime!
Hmm I think your definition of “affordable” is rather skewed. It’s most definitely not affordable for the average consumer. It’d have to be priced at Mustang levels to check that box(not saying it should).
@@AnontheGOAT maybe not for the average person, but it definitely is a great price for what you get!
@@juliantroche1 with that, I totally agree. Bentley level craftsmanship for 1/3 the price.
@@AnontheGOAT for what you get, it’s a bargain, no matter which model you get
@@AnontheGOAT "Affordable" is all relative and subjective. Jeff Bezos' new $75M house in Hawaii is very affordable to him. LOL!
I got to spend a few hours driving one of these around Marin County this past summer and it was really wonderful. The exhaust note is fantastic! It handles its weight better than I would have thought possible. It was fun on twisty roads while being all-day comfortable. It feels as if it was carved from granite and I mean that in a good way. No creaks or shakes over bumps and I hit some rough roads. My only real complaint was the lack of buttons for controls, everything is menu driven. This might not be an issue if you own it, you just set things the way you like it and let the car do its thing. I agree with everything the guy in the video said too. I think because it's going to be one of the last gas V8s wrapped in beautiful sheet metal, and it's a Lexus, it will likely hold its value pretty well. Did I mention the glorious exhaust note?
Absolutely a timeless stunning beauty. This car will become a collector’s favorite.
I never knew this was a convertible, looks amazingly beautiful. This is probably going to my "it's affordable (kinda)" wish list. Great car to have as a forever car lol
LC is definitely the 2nd best car lexus ever produced, after the LFA. It's perfect in person.
Damn, right.
LFA is awesome
I purchased #79 Inspiration Series from the same dealership, Stevinson Lexus, and saw this car on the showroom floor. Keep in mind the owner, Kent Stevinson, paid $2M for #1 of the Inspiration Series. These are fantastic cars! I own one of each generation in near mint condition, 1992 SC400, 2006 SC430 in Tigereye Mica, and now this 2021 LC500. They will all be very desirable classics. Great interview and job well done!!!
Just now seeing this comment, wish I had seen it earlier! If you ever see this car or my new one (ordering a bespoke '24 LC in ultrasonic blue) at Cars & Coffee, please flag me down. Would love to chat about your collection!
@@jimmy-buffett Absolutely my friend, will do!
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous car. The LC is by far my favorite grand tourer in the past decade, maybe 2 decades. And that engine note. I can’t believe a car from Lexus sings with such rasp and ferociousness.
Well its no suprise .ls and LFA.lc just another Crowning achievement .
Its great for show. Not so much for go.
To me, that's such a big part of why this car will be unique in 5-10+ years. Everything we see from Lexus -- boring, serene, luxurious -- says that this car shouldn't exist. But it does. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a future collectable.
Great video. I had a 2000 S2000 and skipped the gen 1 NSX back then as the value proposition wasn't great. I have a gen 2 NSX and an LC 500 convertible. The Lexus is so much fun.
I drive the SC430 currently, this LC 500 cabrio is my dream car!
I loved it since the concept LF-LC came out when I was little, and now I love it more.
This thing is AMAZING!
This guy here knows his cars and knows exactly what he wants! Loved hearing him share his experiences.
hands down! honest and heart spoken. true Lexus fan here. kudos
My mom is friends with him irl and I was lucky enough to see the NSX right before he sold it. Really nice guy too
Are your mom and he... 😝😝
what a character, love the history of cars he's had.
s2k is a car ive always wanted. they stopped building it when i was in HS. thought to myself id get it used when i was in my 20s..fast foward to my 20s and now its still too expensive...
Awesome, James - congrats!!
Yep, it's Anthony again!
It’s a fantastic looking car, and most importantly it Toyota reliability.
Thats why i ordered an LC500 coupe like 2 months ago. Just heard from Lexus my order was approved but still no ETA.
Great review. Lots of respect for your guest! However, in my opinion the performance pack coupe is the way to go for the performance enhancing goodies that I think are necessary to transform this cruiser into the funnest machine around.
Hi! James here from the video. Since filming this video a couple of years ago, I've done two days at the Lexus Performance Driving School (COTA & Road Atlanta) and the LC coupes with all the options are what they have for the road course segments. I still haven't tracked this convertible to know the difference, but at COTA specifically the LC coupe was really impressive in how it didn't feel like a heavy car.
Honestly can't go wrong with coupe or convertible, but if you're buying this car for the performance there are probably better options (C8?) for the money.
You have my dream car. Huge lexus fan cause of the quality and precision/reliability. Made with Takumi craftsmanship. You've got yourself a Bentley quality car that will last forever. Great video tfl and congratulations James on buying one of the best cars ever made. 👍
Cool video and a killer car, James have great taste!
What a great review, you were right he does a great one. I only wish you taken it out and driven it so we could hear that wonderful V-8!
Tommy and James! Glad you guys got together.
James, I need to test drive that beauty!
Fantastic video!
Are you in the office next week? I'll swing by one day, still putting the break-in miles on. And no you guys cannot lift it :-P
@@jimmy-buffett I will be at the shop indeed!
I'll start looking at drifting suspensions for you! Lol
0:35 dude is like" oh crap forgot you were here im still amazed about this car"
This is entertaining to watch. More than others who just typically praise the car none stop.
The LC is definitely a bucket list car for me. I love my trucks and I just put a deposit on a 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro4x that is in transit, but I'm planning on getting a convertible LC as my retirement gift to myself in 7-8 years. I'm hoping there's a plentiful low mileage preowned market by then.
I remember this guy from a previous video somewhere, sometime... was impressed then on his knowledge of the rigs... was it 4Runners? FJ's? Can't recall....
Yep that's me! I did a "buyer's guide" type thing on their FJ Cruiser: th-cam.com/video/4tlRLat5Wl8/w-d-xo.html
👍🏻 my garage would have the LC cabrio, S Class cabrio, 2022 Nsx, LX600 F, and LFA!
That Lexus is awesome. Clean 🔥🔥
almost there on my end saved for this one day one since i saw it 2022 may be my year- awesome and congrats
Interior is gorgeous. It is called toasted carmel.
Really good job at your interview here
I love this car it’s so underrated
This car is absolutely gorgeous and no manufacturers can make the sound this car makes! This car will double your money way before the other waste of money lol
You had me with " it had to be blue" definitely my favorite color
Thanks for introducing us to this Gentleman. Stunning motorcar. I loved this video.
ABSOLUTLY DREAM CAR 😍👍🏻 LEXUS LC 👌🏻😎 LEXUS ART
I’ve listening to guys that are passionate about cars
8:55 Lexus GS F. Another one of those cars.
If I have money, I would buy this car and keep it. I really think this is one of the most beautiful ICE cars ever made. If we were to show a beautiful car to aliens that represents humanity, this would be the one I pick.
I've been debating on getting one of these forever now. Going to pull the trigger.
Heck yeah! What color do you like? I must say the nightfall mica (dark blue) is beautiful but it takes direct sunlight. I think if my wife got to choose, we'd have the orange one with a black interior.
@@jimmy-buffett @Dinesh Ratnasingam Green, Orange, or Yellow would be my votes but I like fun colors. The blue pops in the sun but looks almost black when it's dark... still looks amazing though.
@@jademonkey2430 meeting the dealer. It was this blue or red. Going to go with the red
Absolute dream car, its perfect, great vid guys.
I love the LC 500, sounds great!
Great video. Great questions and dialogue
Great Lexus, I love the LC 500 cab! Open top air and that V8!
Back in 2020 ,,,I could have had a left over 2019 for 82,500 new. That was invoice + a 10k factory rebate that was being offered on cars in the Midwest market. A lingering “recall” prevented me from taking delivery when I was ready to buy it,,,so I took a pass. Regrets.
How do you attach the front license plate? I've never seen one.
Front splitter protector should be next.
Am I wrong or is there a little c5 corvette style in the nsx
Now I'm debating between the LC500 Convertible or the new Amg SL55. 🤔
112300 thats cheap! thats only 97000 euro`s. We have to pay 169000 euro`s for this car. Living in the Netherlands is a hell.
Hell yeah. Excellent choice
I love this car... the best looking Lexus ever
Looks like a very nice car.......I think on the convertible top as long as you put it up once a month for 24 hours too let it stretch it's self out you will be ok.
I'm looking at replacements for my Solara convertible someday and hoping Toyota brings back a more budget friendly convertible. I really like this Lexus convertible but not a spending priority to tie up that much $
You Americans are so lucky you can have the V8. We’re stuck with the hybrid where I live in Europe! On looks alone this car is simply outstanding!
Honestly, this would be my next step from my 2016 RCF. But with starting a family, it might be a GSF or LS500.
Why not the IS500?
@@s.z.x.01 I thought about the IS500, it just depends on if they would actually be available when I decide to buy. Considering they are only releasing 500 vehicles.
Where's the test drive Tommy? I really wanted to see that since I'll never own one.
You guys need to use a leaf blower prior to filming. The debris all over the parking lot is distracting. We see it over and over.
Best convertible ever!
I Haven’t seen a single LC500 where those trims around both front and rear lanterns were color matching the car paint. If I owned one that would be one of very first customizations I’d do, that bothers me a lot mainly the rear ones with that awful chrome part, what were they thinking ✋😖 Just a small detail that bothers me(personal preference) and won’t change my idea that’s a magnificent car design overall. Aka baby LFA❣️
Very nice review.
Nice and humble guy.
Any car (or item) is ultimately worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. The car was bought for its collector's status which means what makes it special or unique. The new owner is a collectors, and not concerned about cost. He will be using it as a show piece, not as a daily driver or means of transportation.
"maybe the best car.. EVER"
Strong words, Tommy, I think I agree!!
Can you name another convertible car from japan on sale ?
Beautiful car.
I like this guy. I’m curious what off roaders he has
I bought an '11 FJ Cruiser new, moved to Colorado, started an FJ offroading club. Got married, wife had an XTerra so they were a bit redundant. We sold the FJ and XTerra and bought an '18 TRD Offroad 4Runner. It's lifted, armored, bumper/winch etc. We didn't get a chance to review it, but it's there in the FJ video we did a while back: th-cam.com/video/4tlRLat5Wl8/w-d-xo.html
his shirt is also blue
Enjoying voice commands in the LC?
All I've done so far is navigating to an address to save the hassle of typing it in. It did try to call the navigation concierge service one time though haha
Beautiful ride.
Wow, I really need to get a new baseball cap :-) this one doesn't fit well at all
Don’t beat yourself up. Your taste in cars makes up for that at in spades.
Great episode
gordon murray t43 (NOT t50), lotus elise/exige/evora/emira, and maybe ragecometR/arielnomad/aptera/nobe
Future collection
that was really good and i enjoyed it.
This is the logical well thought out process more people need to put into things. Have to respect intelligence. ;)
For as much as I try to justify it to myself, I still essentially sold an appreciating asset to buy a depreciating one. But if you can't use a series of good decisions to occasionally, intentionally, make a bad decision, then what's the point :-)
Beautiful car
Congratulations
lexus made in Japan, the best of the best
Hardly. Perhaps you haven't lived long enough to remember the time when Japanese products -- all their products -- were a joke. But either way, there's no accounting for taste.
@@krane15 That was what, the 1950s? Things have come a long way. So much so that the rest of the world has been trying to copy Japanese production methodology for the last 30+ years at a minimum.
Taste is definitely subjective but if you're denying that Japanese products have a well deserved reputation for being reliable I can't see any basis for that.
@@jademonkey2430 I agree with you completley. I work in the railroad industry and they put all of us in management through the Toyota Lean management process to enforce quality over quantity in the work process. The empowerment of any and every employee to stop the process if any defect in the product or process was detected without fear of repercussion from management due to productivity loss. This way any defects or inefficiencies could be dealt with and a solution found instead of having the "not my problem attitude" or putting out an inferior product, service or process. I don't think all of my colleagues bought in due to our American culture of "the boss is always right" type of thinking. I definitely learned a lot and gained even more respect for the Japanese culture and philosophy. That's what put me on the path of Japanese products, especially Toyotas. I now own a 1999 Land Cruiser, 1995 Supra twinturbo, 1990 Toyota pickup (before the Tacoma) and 2007 Tacoma which I daily drive when not hauling the family around. That's what the Land Cruiser is for. Anyways I've babbled long enough.....
@@ttsupra95 I've done my share of production using lean techniques and methods. It's amazing how well they work when people finally buy in to the philosophy and the organization implements it as intended. I've had an FJ Cruiser and now an LX570 that get used both on and offroad and they've both been fantastic. Sounds like a great fleet you have! I've still never been in a 4th gen Supra but always loved them. Some day I need to get a ride in one. Love the pickup and the Taco as well!
@@jademonkey2430 I actually bought the Supra new as a birthday present to myself. It only has 52,000 miles. Going to do the timing belt just because it's a 26 year old car and it will probably take me another 25 years to get it to 90,000 - 100,000 timing belt service mark. I do drive it but a lot less since the value has skyrocketed in the last few years. I usually drive it to the Supras In Las Vegas show but I trailered it this year to keep the miles down. I did put about 30 miles on it in Vegas. Mostly on the strip. Hahahaha
No doubt the best looking, most reliable convertible in the world. Lexus ☝️
That’s a true convertible Supra
I'd have a "REALMK5" license plate if my wife would allow it.
What a beauty. God bless, enjoy her!
Very nice guy deserves a very nice coupe.
One of only 6 Toyota Lexus products that actually really impress me
This is exactly what Lexus should be doing in all of their vehicles. The interior, the style, and engines all need to be transplanted into other Lexus products. Nx RX ES etc. imagine what that would do. It would certainly outclass genesis in that regard. But sadly it doesn’t
In the LC bouncing off the rev limiter is so intoxicating 🤤😍🤩
If only “6” Toyota Lexus products impress you then you aren’t paying attention to lexus Toyota.
@@Toyota4Life believe me I am and I still believe only 6 Toyota products are very impressive to me
Which 6 and why?
@@naveenthemachine I’m 100 percent sure your only counting models sold in the USA.
@@Toyota4Life yeah it is the USA only because I live in the USA
Car? Love the sweatshirt!
This car doesn't get the respect it deserves.
When will my 99 Corolla with 311k miles gonna be a collectible?!
Still think i'd take the old NSX...but the Lexus is beautiful.
Best sport car investment... if that is a thing. Ferrari owners knows about the maintenance cost pit
It's just beautiful. It just needs some real performance. It's slow for the price, despite the sound of it. This color combo is my favorite too. Only the Green and Tan gets close in looks.
It’s a GT it’s not supposed to drive like a high performance car
@@offspring9463 It doesn’t excel as a GT either.
@@MercOne Tell me what is it then? It's a GT end of discussion. It drives like one. Then maybe this car isn't targeted for you.
@@offspring9463 Who is arguing over what the car is? I said it’s a poor GT. Other GT cars smoke it. It’s really not that difficult to understand. It’s dead last in this class of car in performance. A GT car is dual role vehicle. Performance and luxury. It lacks the former like every Lexus does.
@@offspring9463 thank you for educating this person
Wish it was a manual
He should enter the tuner world. He's got money. Why not build a car instead of just worrying about its resale value. Build an EG hatch with a supercharged K24 making 370whp.
He would have a blast and realize he was missing out.
I've extensively modified two offroad vehicles in a row, and my S2000 had a few mods (intake, exhaust, Hondata FlashPro). The truth is that I don't like projects. I just like my cars to work. That's a big part of why I buy Japanese cars over American/German, they just work all the time.
If I were going to build/tune a car it would likely be another high-miles NSX or S2000, but without forced induction up here at elevation (Denver) there's really no point. My S2000 with intake/exhaust and dyno tune made 3 more RWHP than the stock cars at the same dyno day.
@@jimmy-buffett oh ok. And ya that's true.
The Lexus LC500 should of been the reborn of the Supra, also looks like it too.
This is better than a c8 corvette?!?!?
People with money will never be happy with possessions. On to the next thing to self gratification
How could that guy FIT in an s2000?!?!?
It was a tight fit, the NSX had more room
