Snow Plowing Gone WRONG! Grader Goes Over The Edge!
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 7 ม.ค. 2025
- One of Tyler's grader operators got a little too close to the shoulder while plowing a logging road and went over the edge. Luckily the trees caught it from tumbling to the bottom and the operator was fine. Another logging company brought out their grader to clear us a path up the mountain, and the @onspotnorthamerica22 auto chains had no problem filling it up. Once on scene we did some rigging off a couple big trees with the @YankumRopes and put the @zackliftinternational4841 to work!

This is a great example of the power of skilled operators and skilled riggers (and the right equipment) doing it right. A pleasure to watch. Well done.
And strong trees in the right place.
@@imagseer
Yeah, strong trees made all the difference 👍
This video should come with a disclaimer (as well as all videos of highly skilled individuals) - it looks easy because they are good at their jobs.
The jobs are always easier when I’m the least experienced one on scene
@CaseyLaDelle 😂
@@CaseyLaDelle This sensei is very humble...🎉
@@CaseyLaDelle You are smart enough to recognize this fact say a lot about why things went so smooth.
@@CaseyLaDelle There is a saying i use every day "A wise man wakes up each day knowing he knows nothing while a fool wakes up each day thinking he knows everything".
What a boring recovery. No fake drama, little danger, worked as planned.
Well done! We like it that way!
Definitely appreciated the narrative explanation at 5:07 of the rigging which wasn’t obvious from the pix!
Pretty clever rigging!
I'll 2nd that, nice touch Casey. And yes, knowledge and experience made that look way simpler than it really was. There were a LOT of things that could have gone wring.
Same, I understood both were going up the hill to two trees, but didn't realize it had tied back to the boom or why. Highly appreciate the narrative and diagram.
I like a shorter format showing competency. Don't worry that it's "missing drama." Life will provide plenty more of that. Congratulations on the win.
Loggers, people you can trust to rig for you. Top grader operator as well, he kept the wheel slip at close to zero helping to pull himself out of there. They need to fix the front drive on that thing, snow and ice on tight mountain roads is the one time a grader almost needs to be 6x6.
My uncle is a logger I love arguing with him about rigging just to piss him off but I do trust his rigging just don't tell him
Bingo. You need that 6x6 in those conditions
6x6 not needed someone was tired and not paying attention to where they were on the road bed.
A wing on that grader would make a bigger difference then having working 6wd.
@@hartstudebakerkid Having that front drive to drag you around the corners is a huge help, mate. It drastically reduces the risk of sliding sideways off the road.
I don't think the video is lame. It just shows a level of expertise that nothing went wrong and it all just worked exactly how you planned. It's kinda crazy how fast these problems compound, the grader goes off, then it immediately snows and you can't get a truck up there to recover it. Its a good thing that other company was willing to help out
100% agree! I watch Casey's videos as they are a window into a world different from mine; so what if Casey's years of experience make it look easy, everyone got to go home to their family alive and well.
@@dseipel2 As Hannibal Smith said, "I love it when a plan comes together"
@@AkmarKabeerexactly
Casey: "I never said I was good at this". Then proceeds to do a recovery really well! The clip of Riley at the end is great.
Casey watching Rylee operating the rollback was GREAT!❤❤
I can imagine the relief of turning up to something like this and the guy there actually has a decent suggestion to help out instead of something mental😂
Like running the winch line all the way under a Tesla to pull backwards from the front tow hook?? 😂
@@CaseyLaDelle so many things about EVs would be so much easier if one could unplug the batteries into one-person-carry sized units like Jerry cans. Heck if they are not already, you should suggest to Ecoflow they design packs to propose to EV mfrs.
Very professional Casey, changes the image of a lot of recovery guys.I like the fact you don’t have 100,000 flashing lights.
I was a first responder and that was the first thing I did at any scene was shut off all lights that were not required.
Made life a lot easier for everyone
What an incredible piece of equipment you invested in. Zacklift should be paying you for all the great advertising!
I think they did give him a bit of a discount for having their name on the side instead of his (he mentioned this in a video about a year ago)
Casey is on the Zacklift TH-cam Page showing how it works. www.youtube.com/@zackliftinternational4841/videos
Plus Casey is doing some R&D for / with them. So future owners will be getting improved versions.
ZackLift and Yankum FTW!!! Riley is an awesome spokesperson!!!
Yeah, Cassie forgot to mention how much more dramatic this would have been if they'd had to drag wire rope up that hill instead of the Yankum lines.
@@jkbrown5496
Sad Casey missed to ask the guys after they dragged the winshrope to the tree and back what they think of it.. 😉
That still frame for the explanation made a nice picture of the truck. That came out surprisingly easy.
I don't think he even dug the spades in, he was so well-balanced!
I like this road grader driver. He’s humble AND speaks a language you do too!
This is a fine example of how pulleys can compound the pulling effort without adding stress on the ropes or hydraulic system. Once again I'm impressed with your knowledge of rigging, and the versatility of the Zacklift. And obviously the grader operator was a big help, too. Y'all made that look easy getting the grader up out of there, with snow built up around the blade and tires. Fun to watch as always, and thanks to all who helped bring this content to us.
It was a great example of the Team of Friends that not only help each other, but are able to do concurrent work with rigging and suggestions that led to an awesome outcome and a short video! Its amazing the strength and versatility of the synthetic ropes and the Zacklift! Sometimes Casey you just have to admit you are good at it!🙂 I followed that young ladies instructions some time ago!
For those not familiar with graders: on many, the front wheels have adjustable camber which allows them to counter the side force when grading. So the wheels leaning funny is perfectly normal.
Apparently the front hydrostatic drive assemblies aren't working, but that is a different issue.
The right tools for the job. And yet again, people listening to each other and not having an ego pissing contest.
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Riley is the best spokesmodel I've seen on TH-cam. 👍🏼
The difference between not having & having the right equipment, attitude, people & knowledge!
That Western Star and Zacklift combination is an absolute UNIT!! What a workhorse!!
I AM AMAZED AT THE ZAKLIFT’S CAPABILITY AND CASSEY’S INGENUITY! GOOD JOB! 😊🇨🇦
Rigging is always 90% of a job done right. You had the right crew and it is always nice to see an easy win.
Thank you Riley, hope you had a nice christmas with mommy and daddy, and that was a nice recovery Casey ,Thank's
I promise not to tell anybody, it would appear that you knew what you were doing. Nice job.
Naaah, it was all dumb luck.
Thanks
Bob
Casey is kicking the TH-cam’s algorithm’s ass lol. His subscriber count is growing like crazy! Very well deserved too. He makes some awesome content
LOVED seeing the long lines and see them working perfectly. And thank you for the still with explanation on how that kept your truck pulled on from two sides. Very nice to see, this.
It came out like Casey knew what he is doing! Great job.
"I never said I was good at this" (but obviously he is)
5:04 That is a rock solid setup, very smart!
Casey, thank you for the rigging explanation, cause I was really scratching my head to figure out what the heck you were doing.
Watching that ZackLift do ZackLift things is pure joy!
G'damn that Zacklift is an impressive piece of kit. Now I see why you like it so much there Mr.LaDelle.
Well you made that look far to easy Casey! Good job man! Happy New Year to everybody! And Riley says, "don't forget to subscribe"! So lets be doing that if you have not already done so!
5:03
Highlight for right there. Short content, but you made time to explain the plan, the rigging, exactly why it could work, and then showed it working the first try.
It was so good I watched it twice.
WOW! ZackLift😎 That grader was Huge! How much weight ? Tyler knew who to call to get the job done right! 💪💪💪 Casey, ZackLift and Yankum for the Win! Stay safe out there and THANK YOU! ❤️✌️🇺🇸
That machine should weigh between 30 and 35k pounds
@@CaseyLaDelle Thanks! It looked big laying on the ground, then upright 😳 just WOW! I have never been around heavy equipment so that video really showed the ZackLift is a Beast! I know you have been doing this for many years and it’s probably puzzling to you, but many of us find what you do for a living very interesting. So Thank You for sharing your life, your job, your friends and sometimes family with us.😊❤ PS …Miss Riley smiling “Like and Subscribe” with a little wink ❤ reminds me of my daughter when she was little. Take care of yourself and stay safe out there! Happy New Year to you and your girls 😊❤🎉 Many, many blessings and a very prosperous 2025 for you and your business.
That was art. Done right the first time because it was rigged right the first time. There are advantages to being ab e to visualize dynamic geometry. Thanks for the video. It wasn't too short; it was beautiful recovery work.
And he says...."I never said I'm good at this stuff"
Very smart rigging to equalize the load on either side of the boom. Very professional
Wow, honestly this was awesome. Thank you!
I saw an OnSpot display at an expo a few years ago. Genius idea, every OTR truck should have them.
Really thought you were going to have a battle on your hands. Great plan, awesome rigging and smooth recovery. Great job Casey.
Great job. And really smart to go ahead and route the one winch line through a snatch block and right back to the end of the boom. Double the pull on the back of the grader while simultaneously reducing the overturning force on the boom to only one winch line. Win-win. I love watching the work you do.
Thats a cool shot of the zack lift in the snow with all the lights on from the rear . A new screen shot .
Somehow I don't mind these videos with situations where everything just works. I don't need extra drama and suspense and all that. Good plan, good prep, solid explanation and a "this is how it went" is fine with me. I'll even survive a little sponsor mumbojumbo.
This whole job was completed nearly before you put power to the winches. I couldn't BELIEVE how easily it walked up out of there. Nice prep for an 'easy' job.
Just two days ago, I came across a full size 4 x 4 truck that had side over he edge and about 35 feet down the mountain and got stopped by a tree. I told them I could get them out, but had to go get more supplies to safely anchor to a pair of trees to kep me from being pulled in/over. Told them an hour home, another back, but (probably) only 45 minutes to get them out. and I headed home.
I got back, and now there was another truck over the edge. He HAD not anchored up and, when he started to slide, there was nothing stopping it and he went over the edge. AND he got stopped by hitting the first truck. Both out in an hour.
Casey has it right. Bring the correct gear. If it does not look good, try a different way. If it still doesn't look good, call a professional.
Casey made this one look easy. And it WAS easy because he brought the right tool for the job. But, wow, I am always asking, how did they manage to stack it in there? Too close to the side? Ouch.
This looked soo easy, it's the Experience that Casey, Tyler & the logging crew have. You put all the Experience & Claim Minds together to have a great results. Well Done Everyone.
Watching From Calgary, Canada
I've always heard that if you are grading with the blade at an angle and hit a solid object, like a rock in the road, the blade will kick your grader off the road. Especially if you are going fast.
Great job, Casey. You showed how even a small wrecker can move a very heavy machine on a steep incline. With proper rigging and operators, skills can have a great outcome. Be careful out there, Casey, and happy new year to you and your family.
I think the lady that said that was simple, did not realize of much experience was their helping in a very bad situation. Way to go guys. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY.
That was certainly harder than it looked. The extra time to rig everything properly and using two trees without pulling them down was key. You made this look too easy...Great job, no damage and everyone safe. Can't get any better.
More time was spent hooking up and putting away than pulling out. That means it was done right.
From the time I opened the boxes to start pulling gear out to the time it was on the road and done was 9 minutes. Then it took another 15 to spool all the line back up 😂
Time and again Casey makes the hard jobs look easy because he has good equipment, he knows his equipment and he knows what he's doing. Winning trifecta every time. Certainly thankful this ended so well for driver, that could have been much worse. Thanks and prayers for all those working to keep travels safe.
A well thought out and executed plan certainly makes the pull look super easy! Awesome recovery.
Impressive and, oddly, rather relaxing to watch.
Great video Casey,,, ran a Grader for 40 years with hwy. Dept. Started on an old wore out 1969 year Dresser.. Never pushed that deep of snow.. I can't imagine how the operator felt the moment he was going over...😢
As an old TV show lead actor would say ( love it when a plan comes together!) Great job Casey!
Wow. That's impressive. Looked way easier than I imagine it really was.
The hardest part was spooling all the line back up afterwards
@@CaseyLaDelle i think the hardest part was edding this video long enough
I am always amazed by how you can pull things out of some crazy stuff with ease of the Zacklift....
Talk about everything aligning for a great outcome. The scene definitely looked a lot worse than it turned out to be. A great scene size-up, plan development, and plan execution by all the players involved. It's a pleasure to see knowledgeable and seasoned professionals work together for a successful outcome.
When I saw the grader, and then that it's only a 10 min video, I thought that Casey must have just edited all the good stuff out. Nope, the grader came right out, thanks to the well thought out rigging. And, thank you Casey for the little voice-over explaining how the rigging went. Short but sweet video! I also obeyed Riley at the end.
Paying attention in High School geometry pays off!!! You make it look easy. Nice Job!
Having the right equipment is the difference between drama (and maybe failure) and a job well done.
Casey this was REALLY cool! Your explanation of how the lines were set up (and why) was superb, so easy to understand and informative at the same time. I really admire how capable and knowledgeable you are
If you had showed us a pic of the Tesla and a pic of the maintainer and asked which one would be the easier recovery, well, Ida been wrong, big time!
That's usually how it goes. Every time I look at something and think it's going to be super easy, I end up fighting it for hours. Then I look at something like this think we're going to be here for awhile and it comes right out. I timed it with the raw footage and from the time I opened the boxes on the Zacklift to start pulling out gear to the time it was on the road was 9 minutes. The hardest part of the whole job was spooling all that line back onto the drums
Work smarter, not harder. This short video is the perfect example of that. I don't usually comment, but doing so today to help the grumpy ole algorithm. Very smart rigging!!
Casey, having the proper rigging strategy made this recovery Easy Peasy! I'll watch the video fully thrice to triple the "viewer engagement minutes" statistic, of my watching it, for this excellent video.
Casey, i love how you stopped to explain your pulling technique. I always enjoy watching your recoveries.
Fine job Casey. That looked horrible when you rolled up on. Excellent content.
A greedy company would have easily charged thousands of dollars to bring up 2 50Tonners with side puller and do the recovery but Casey's expertise and knowledge on his equipment showcased how he did it with a 30Ton Detachable without even lifting a wheel off the ground!! Amazing work would like to see more recoveries like this!!
Casey you are Da Man with The Plan
Outstanding Work and Great Content Thanx for sharing your Great experience
Mr La Delle, you have no sense of drama! No TV series with breathless narration and dynamic animation for you. 🤣
Oh the positive side we all learn something from every mishap . No serious injuries to the operator or the rescue team is always a good day. Casey is a good teacher and is always happy to learn something new to share with everyone.
WOW, it pays to know what you're doing!! And the right equipment helps too!
When I first saw the grader I thought this was going to be a 2 part video but that was amazing!!
Nice job!! That was a lot easier than I thought it would be when I saw where the grader was. Nice work. It pays to have the right people and the right equipment doing the job!!!
As usual, totally enjoyed watching professional at work. Sliding in must have been interesting for the driver! Very lucky it stopped where you could get at it. Well done.
Sometimes it’s just as satisfying to watch a well thought out plan just simply work.
Years of experience and skill on display here. All done in the dark. Some people will think you're goofing off if you make it look too easy.
A team of people who know what they are doing and above all, can work together and take advice. No ego's. Great video. Sorry to disappoint Riley but I can only subscribe once.
Love watching how a hard job is made to look easy with good equipment and knowledge.
Always helpful when you know a guy that has the right tool for the job. The Zacklift comes through again with the right rigging. I thought for sure from the short that this was going to be a long tough recovery. Wrong.
this is a perfect example of knowing how to use your tools and making them do the heavy lifting 😊
The time adds up sorta like me and trimming around the yard. Takes 15 mins. to get out the tools, 30 mins. to do the trimming but 3 hours to clean up and put away. Enjoying the different situations that you find yourself in. The variety teaches something new.
Hell ya Casey Brother stay safe out there budd thanks for taking the time to film for all of us 😊
I appreciated the quick rigging explanation. I have no experience in any of this so it was cool to see how all this rigging works
I love the way you walk up to a situation, assess the lay of the land, and instantly see how you're going to hook 🪝 up to every vantage point. It's amazing! You really do make it look scary and easy.
That was amazing. Knowing what to do really shines through in this video. Experience matters.
Casey you deserve an easy one.
Remember this you used your knowledge and experience and WON!!!!
I am a night operator here in the Pacific. Yer flashlight is awesome, laDell.
You should glue an AirTag to the 360 cam so you get a separation alarm if you leave it behind, when you're only a mile down the road instead of fifty!
I cringe every time I watch a heavy recovery. God bless you and those that risk life and limb to help others. Happy New Year!
I love it when your daughter tells everyone to like and subscribe.. Makes me want to subscribe all over again.
All thouse extra hands sure made a difference on the time spent on this job site. Great save Casey.🤠
That went much better than I thought it was going to when you first pulled up to the grader.
You have some very capable and knowledgeable friends.
Smooth and quick is good for Tyler.
Casey, you are a genius at rigging stuff like that!
That was pretty amazing! Short, but amazing none the less.
That is some elegant rigging Casey, Bravo!
I was following a snow plow during a blizzard. High winds heavy snow rarely saw the lights.
Looked like a white tornado in front of me. And he drove into the ditch. I quickly realized without him plowing if I stopped no starting again. Getting bogged down and stuck in the middle of the highway was now my main concern. Snow scraping the floor pans is not a good feeling.
