  • The latest version of WiFi is called WiFi 6E and if you've heard of it, maybe you've been wondering what WiFi 6E is exactly?
    In this video, I'll explain what WiFi 6E is, what the difference is between WiFi 6 vs WiFi 6E and why it's such an important update to the WiFi standard.

    Interesting I searched the topic after the IPhone conference 🤔 still did not quite get it but what you said seems important and good for speed the question is will the IPhone 15 have it or only the pro?

    I've searched some, but can't find any video showing how much the speed drops as you go farther from the router, room to room. And when you say walls, walls of ANY material?

    Dude, Thanks so much for making this video. I really needed it. I understood wifi6 but was a little confused about 6E. Also one of the biggest reasons I understood Wiwfi6 was because you explained it so well in your last video. Did some further reading and voila - some understanding penetrated my head and a WIFI AX router entered our home.
    Justy one question - My router asks me if I want to enable the 6Ghz band. If I say yes to that - do I have to have 6ghz enabled clients to take advantage of that or can any wifi6 devices take advantage of that?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @defiant888
      @defiant888 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My guess they can only take advantage of it, if they have a 6E modem in them, otherwise no.

      Thanks so much for watching this one! And yes the devices and router both need 6E support to use 6Ghz

    If my internet is 200 down 20 up, Im a single guy that has the latest Apple devices, Google smart home, lights and outlet switches, a Quest2/PS5/XSX, should I upgrade to 6E or stay with my Google Nest WiFi at 5Ghz? Thank you

    🕵 Very cool!! I'm going to go back now and watch the first video you did on Wi-Fi. I will be sure my next phone is 6E capable before I buy it. And for that matter, any other electronic device I buy going forward. As always, nice work! Thank you

    Just ran across your video in researching this topic. Tremendous and easy resource to understand as a novice, so thanks for putting this together! In your expert opinion, would I need to invest the extra $'s for 6E given the following: Single family home, 2 neighbors either side that are a couple hundred feet away w/nothing front or back, 1 PS4 + 3 TV's + various other devices (phones, a tablet, a laptop, a desktops etc...). Not a huge house. I am understanding that the 6E capability really helps in places with a high-density # of devices needing constant WiFI access, and I don't think I have that here. So simply wondering your thoughts on this. Thanks again for the information!

    I hadn't really paid much attention to the WiFi 6/E generation though I use a Huawei 5G router/modem at home. I think the sheer naming convention let me subconsciously believe that WiFi 6 was already using 6Ghz (though I somewhat consciously set up the 2.4/5Ghz networks myself, duh). Thanks for the explanation and pointing out there is a 6E even! Great video as always.

    Wish I would have seen this before converting from a 6 to 6E system. Part of it was that my Internet service provider insisted that my 2GB plan would benefit. Well, I suppose it would if I actually had 6E devices, which it does not. Also, as you report the range is not as good, so I am adding to of my own Eeero Pro 6E units just to extend the coverage, and hopefully recover some of the Wifi speed I had under the 6 system. I suppose one might argue I'm future proofing. But, most of my devices are Apple, and as far as I know Apple's current iPad, iPhones, and M1 MacMini don't support 6E. Future proofing with tech. rarely pays off I'm afraid. It just evolves too fast ;) This of course is on me for not doing research and trusting my Internet service provider.

    This device is not affordable or suitable for most users, and it does not produce high-quality photos easily. Despite that, I like the fifth attempt of Sony. 🎉
