      Yeah ...
      Just like in the title of this video for instance, while WiFi 6E may be "crazy fast." Unfortunately it also has a "crazy short range" too. ...
      So unless you remain in the same room close to the AP. Or place the APs close together if using the 6 GHz band for wireless backhaul between them.
      Then the performance of WiFi 6E is going to be pretty much a wipeout then sorry to say ...

    6E is very impressive but 1. It’s barely supported so even if you get it, you almost certainly won’t be able to take full advantage of it currently, and 2. You don’t need 6E to get the speeds you show in the video. I have just 6 on a fiber plan (1G up and down) and I consistently get over 900MB on my WiFi tests. Oh and 3. Anything 6E is gonna be super expensive right now, so in general I really wouldn’t recommend it until the prices start coming down and it is available in more devices.

    • @kartiksharma-ie8by
      @kartiksharma-ie8by 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deco xe75 is way cheaper than any tri band wifi 6 mesh so I disagree with the 3rd point. Even if you dont have any compatible device...the deco can itself use that 6ghz band for backhaul.

    • @mutedmutiny9542
      @mutedmutiny9542 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kartiksharma-ie8by you’re talking about tri-band mesh systems which is more than what most people need. Also $300 is not what I would call cheap when you can get a great WiFi 6 AX1800 from TP-link for under $100. I just looked it up and right now it’s available for 79.99 on Amazon. If you do need tri-band mesh then yes it is a more compelling proposition, but there are still much cheaper options than the one you mentioned that right now for most people will give them very good WiFi. The thing is by the time wifi6E is more widely adopted and available in more devices, the prices will come down considerably from where they are now.

    • @kartiksharma-ie8by
      @kartiksharma-ie8by 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mutedmutiny9542 ax1800 is barely a wifi 6 router with most functionality cut out off it.
      It took more than 10 years for introduction of new band after 5ghz. So 6e having the 6ghz band is not talked about enough. Even wifi 7,8 and 9 will be backwards compatible with it at the least. While wifi 6 won't be able to take ots advantage. 6e is futureproof for years to come. Wifi 6 missing 6ghz band is such a big deal.

      The speed increase is not there when compared to even a decent wifi 5 router.
      AX1800 is just being sold for the hype of wifi 6 rather than its capabilities. Its wifi 6 in the name only.

    Thank you! Best explanation I've seen on 6E vs. older standards. You've really got to watch your Internet provider's supplied equipment the new higher Internet speed options. On a recent fiber optic 2GB service install, they put in home equipment that wasn't really up to dealing with the faster speeds. While I never expect the speeds the providers are touting, you still have to insist on the appropriate equipment installed in your home (if you rely on the internet provider for equipment).

    Forget fast. If you want fast and stable speeds, you want a cable. You get wifi for ease of use and aesthetics.
    That said, right now I can spot 17 wifi networks, sometimes only 16, sometimes 20+, all 2.4Ghz, only 1×5Ghz. This leaves not a lot of room for my laptops, phones, AIO, disconnects and interference. If I can switch to 6Ghz that makes for a lot better use for me.

    • @christrubl5014
      @christrubl5014 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true but a new 6e WiFi router can be much cheaper. If you are going high bandwidth hardwire you need a router with 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps Ethernet ports and then possibly a switch with 2.5GBps or 10Gbps ports. 2.5Gbps switch is expensive and a 10Gbps switch is even more. If cost is no issue for you than go hardwired but WiFi can make it much cheaper to get high bandwidth.

    Honestly WiFi 6E isn't worth it at all over WiFi 6. It looks like WiFi 7 is coming pretty soon and so it makes little sense to pay that much for 6E that will be soon outdated by much better, newer standard. WiFi 7 is gonna be much better as it also incorporates sub 1ghz frequency for IoT devices. Its also gonna be simply lot faster than 6E. I think its even able to aggregate 2 frequencies at once, so your device that supports WiFi 7 could use 5Ghz and 6GHz channels at same time for better speeds for instance. The big jump is gonna be from 6E to 7, not from 6 to 6E. 6E is just pointless stopgap on my opinion, it doesn't even make full use of 6GHz the way 7 will do. Just another pointless marketing gimmick. Also, WiFi 7 supports 4096 QAM vs just 1024 QAM on WiFi 6 or 6E.
