Outstanding. I just purchased a used 2013 SPYDER RSS. I come from a 2 wheel community. At 58 years of age with osteoarthritis, especially in my hips, I no longer am enjoying riding on a 2 wheel bike. A few months ago, I test road the ryker and spyder F-3. I was hooked immediately. Ryker is cool, but for cruising, I much rather enjoyed the spyder. Appreciate your channel. Stay safe
You, my back, and behind are the reason i changed from Ryk to Spy. I bought the best windshield custom made from Gustafsson Plastics out of Florida. I was riding in winds of 23 mph and was riding when others bikers were on the side. Best purch. Also a tank pro, phone holder, mini mirror, and frunk organiser.
Just about to go out on my F3-S in southwest Portugal - I am a retired Brit. The standard footpeg position is fine for my 33'' inside leg. I can stretch my legs out and rest my heels on the pegs on long, quiet roads if I wish. I never contact the fuel tank when getting on or off. I never use cargo nets. I always ride with my 25-litre Shad bags in place. I think the OE mirrors are fine. I keep my phone in my pocket. The background music is distracting.
I'm a definite believer in the cargo net! Earlier this year, I had put a waterproof cover on my backpack and had it bungee to my backseat, but the cover acted as a parachute and sucked that backpack right out from under the bungees. It got run over by a semi LOL but luckily it only had clothes in it and my clothes were protected though the bag was destroyed. Lesson learned!
Interesting on the brake from Lamonster... I'm guessing I'm at position 3... I have a floorboard and I'm just used to the brake where it's at. 🤷♀️ I can easily cover the brake.
Good selections, I love the suggestion about the Lamonster brake linkage. Wish I knew about it before I put mine on (BRP position 5) - had it done when I purchased my Special Series. You are right on the brake pedal location, and it would make a big difference having it lower as you've shown for the Lamonster version. I like the convex mirrors suggestion as well - will have to look into that. That said, my immediate accessories purchases included the brake linkage, BRP passenger backrest and armrests (specifically for my 12 year old son), LED headlights (Slingmods), USB handlebar mount with RamMount phone holder (Slingmods), and the F4 windshield (also Slingmods). LEDs are brighter than the factory halogens. The USB mount/RamMount is perfect for holding my phone while charging - it's so good my phone is always fully charged after using! I've seen mixed opinions on the windshield, and admittedly the F4 is a big windshield - but it provides great wind blocking and bug/debris avoidance! The first week of me driving - before the windshield arrived - I got hit with so many bugs it was like someone throwing stones at me! Worse case now, I just gotta clean my windshield, but I don't get hit at all. One of my favorite mods I did shortly thereafter are the Slingmods (TricLED) fender signal indicators. They look absolutely beautiful and are so much more functional than the base turn signals. Thanks for a cool video with good options on accessory ideas.
LEDs are high up on my list of future mods. At night time the stock lights are a little lacking. Just undecided on if I want to just replace the bulb or do an aftermarket housing with running lights etc.
@@3WK-ADV yeah another great resource - Moabman - did a video on the newer housing and it looks really good. Costs more but has the LEDs plus turn signal added into the housing. It's on Slingmods and worth checking out.
Yeah, I mentioned that in another comment. I have had zero issues with it, some other videos out there using it with pegs as well. Not sure what their reasoning was for the disclaimer.
Just a quick line to say Hi ' its time for an update' how are you & the spyder bonding with each other? Its been a long time since Ive worn a crash helmet but finally one chosen, Ruroc Atlas 4 Ghost & I'm hovering over the buy button for the 'BreakFreeTech helmet brake light. ( I was originally looking for an additional stop & tail light fitting above the license plate so thats not off the table just yet. Can not wait for some warmer weather, we had snow today & thats not on my three wheel wish list. Take care out there, wishing you & your lady health & happiness. p.s. I'm also hovering over the buy button for the LeMans Tracer wrap from wrapmyspyder.
The ones I think..the ultimate baja ron sway bar w links, the back rest, the Lazer alignment, tour windshield, any lighting, headlites, tail, dynamic driving type.., etc
First rate content as always! I'm so happy I switched from my Ryker Rally to the 2022 F3S! How about a video about care and cleaning? You did a great one I used on my Ryker for a long time!
Congratulations to the winner! Hmmm... My two favorite mods are the Baja Ron sway bar and the Elka stage 2 shocks... What a difference in handling in the twisties!
The shocks I could imagine being a pretty nice upgrade. I actually have been really happy with the stock setup, but in a few years I may have to make that purchase.
I have the 2022 Rally but im about to pull the trigger on a Manta Green F3S. Haven't seen it in person though. Wondering if the color is as nice in person.
@@3WK-ADV I had ordered the Manta Green but today i cancelled and ordered the black one like yours. Picking it up in a few days. I still have my 2022 Ryker Rally and will see if the Spyder will make me get rid of it or not (most probably so but we'll see)
Any insight into the F3-S vs F3-T? I like the sporty styling of the F3-S, but the T has some great features like intergrated speakers. Have you done anything for music?
Nice video. I am confused about the brake rod though, I wanted to get one but it clearly says on the product page it will NOT work with pegs - it is designed to work with floorboards only. So, I never ordered one.
Yeah, I think the their thought is that the rider's foot position on pegs wouldn't allow for full brake modulation. That just isn't the case, it actually feels much more natural for me (and many others).
Great content as always. I’ve had my Spyder for 3 months and love it! Originally considered going with a Rally but knowing deep down I would have bumped up. Completely agree with your mods. I have all with the exception of the brake rod as i’m shorter. I’m located in Cobb county, it would be cool to meet for a ride someday…
Love your channel, im located in Cumming. Hit me up whenever you want ride! Traderd my Ryker for a Spyder as well. First mod was the smoothspyder backrest.

I've been interested in a frunk organizer too, but I've come up with a little system that is working for me for the time being. Enjoy your Spyder!
That tank does scratch easily. That's a definite mod! Looks great!
That Lamonster brake rod is gold!

I truly do appreciate your intelligence and honesty.
Thanks man, I try!
Great video 👍 you mentioned shutting off your Spyder to open the frunk , did you know you can open it with the bike running? Try it it works 😃

Found this vid. As for lamonster brake rod, there is a disclaimer on site that is not to be with pegs. How it been working out.

Weather is getting nice, so I agree! Time for an update!
Excellent suggestions and will consider when the time comes. Currently Ryker Rally owner and thinking seriously about getting a Spyder. Thanks 👊🏾
For sure man, most important part is that you get out and enjoy what you have.

Could you please go over how you connect a Bluetooth helmet(if you have one) with your BRP connect.

More to come! Thanks!
I just got a recall on my 2022 spyder saying the mirrors can fall off
I've heard quad lock is the bestest. I don't have my phone mounted anywhere while I'm riding because I have a GPS.
That makes sense, my phone is my GPS and I have apps for offline maps if I am going on a longer trip.
How's the durability of these. I've been thinking about getting one but just want an idea of what upkeep is like
what color do they call that on your frame. I just bought one and will be picking it up tomorrow. can't seem to find an answer for the color
Any insight into the F3-S vs F3-T? I like the sporty styling of the F3-S, but the T has some great features like intergrated speakers.
Have you done anything for music?
Did you install the Lamonster break rod yourself?
Have you put any sound system on a F3-S?
I haven't yet. I usually listen to music in my helmet, so it hasn't been a high priority for me.
I live in Thailand and was wondering if there is a dealership there? Can you help?
Have the mirrors fell off yet?
Not even close. I had the same type on my Ryker for over 2 years as well. If you install them correctly, they will last for many years.

Change shocks first thing
Maybe on a Ryker, but the F3 shocks are quite nice out the box.
