As someone who has been with someone from a different country/culture for the past three years, she's never going to be able to be with someone who grew up in a completely different culture/country if she doesn't understand that the "normal" social cues in AMERICA aren't normal social cues everywhere. As someone pretty educated on psych/ASD/neurodiverse stuff (almost my first bachelors in psych down, diagnosed with stuff as well), this seems like a situation where it the guy potentially has ASD and it suddenly becomes her bashing him for him existing and trying to fumble through a date. So if she is in the USA, most bars aren’t pet friendly and assuming her dog isn’t a task and public access trained service dog specifically to help her managing her disability, she is NOT supposed to bring dogs into non-pet friendly places. In a lot of states that is a misdemeanor offense and she could get into huge trouble, as well as it is ableist, harmful to legitimate service dogs and their handlers, and generally just a horrible thing to do. Ok the “childish, socially inept, lack of understanding lines, taking things literally, etc” is what reads autism to me. Ofc he could’ve just been a bad dude or the language/cultural/whatever is to blame, but like there are so many other possible reasons (not excuses) for the behavior she spoke of. As someone pretty educated on psych/ASD/neurodiverse stuff (almost my first bachelors in psych down, diagnosed with stuff as well), this seems like a situation where it the guy potentially has ASD and it suddenly becomes her bashing him for him existing and trying to fumble through a date. Had I been in his shoes I imagine it would’ve gone similarly (idk about grabbing her, but also he may not have realized that was not ok at all, esp if it was never something he was told prior)
With ASD/similar traits, her sending mixed signals and not communicating clearly and literally was def the reason for a lot of her issues. Even without ASD, mixed and unclear signals make the already complex dance of a first date into a bit of a nightmare, especially since she told him to communicate and didn’t reciprocate that curtesy towards him

So if she is in the USA, most bars aren’t pet friendly and assuming her dog isn’t a task and public access trained service dog specifically to help her managing her disability, she is NOT supposed to bring dogs into non-pet friendly places. In a lot of states that is a misdemeanor offense and she could get into huge trouble, as well as it is ableist, harmful to legitimate service dogs and their handlers, and generally just a horrible thing to do. Hopefully either her dog IS a legitimate service dog (in which case it does make sense that her dog would have to come with her on the date, to be able to task for her) or hopefully they put a lot of care into making sure the place is pet friendly.
