I did have a look at these, the vstar 650 would have been the next best thing, but being my first bike i really didnt want to jump straight to top of the L's cc limit and i also didnt want to be struggling down the highway on a 250. 2 months i've been riding my shadow for and i already want more power, so I'd suggest now to get a vstar 650, still love my shadow though, gonna hold onto it till i get my opens and eventually a much bigger bike :)
didn't have a look at the yamaha 650 vstar ? or the kawasaki eliminator 250 2005-2007 ? or the suzuki interceptor ? I'm just looking at these 3 and its a toss up
Makes a good noise for a 400cc cruiser. BTW, dude, your commentary makes any bike entertaining. It's all about fun and sometimes I forget that when I'm riding.
33 HP is not bad for a 400 cc ...I had no idea Honda made a 400 Shadow (not available in the U.S.) ... I own a 1100 Spirit with around 55 HP. Honda stopped manufacturing the VT1100s after the 2007 model. The only Shadow in the U.S. now is the 750 cc .
I bought one of these about 2 weeks ago... as far as first cruiser bikes go, this is a clear winner for learners. I was tossing up between this / a yamaharley / a hunter spyder.... so glad i went for the honda now. Highly recommend one of these for beginner cruiser riders! :)
i know it was 4 years ago, but did you struggle on the highway or anything? i like this one more than the vstar but being i live relatively rural 90% of my riding would be 100km/h highway. a lot of conflicting information going around but information directly from someone that had one would be good.
All Motorcycle Reviews I have seen is dry as dust .You must start doing Motorcycle Reviews .You would be a Natural .Awesome the way you discussed the Bike's Purpose .You are a natural .Honestly .DO MORE REVIEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wish we could split the lanes like that(legally) here in Virginia! So much faster to get anywhere......the whole point of a motorcycle. Those left turns are freaking me out though, looks to me like you're commiting suicide!
im getting my bike l's, i've had them previously, but im looking at getting one of these. ive never had a cruiser before and i was just wondering if you think it's a good bike for a "beginer" rider. i had my bike l's for a year. just let them expire.. which was stupid lol but yeah. what do you think?
Excellent videos :-). I'd trade my bike with yours, but unfortunately, I think you're on another continent and I've also got a Ninja 250...so that wouldn't be a new experience for you :)). Keep riding and stay safe
Hey mate, i'm getting my license soon and I was going to get the vt750 but it turns out that I can't ride anything over 660c. Do you think it's worth risking it for a year until I can upgrade? or do you recommend getting the Vt400. I've looked at prices and for some reason the 400 is more expensive than the 750
@ Ak Jonny we can't lane split here (legally) either :) Nice video RidingWithTom. I can't wait to own a bike again and this is the one I enjoyed the test ride the most with. Thanks for posting!
Looks like you some fun on that comfy cruiser.
great bike to learn on! very comfy and lovely to ride!

Rode my dad's 750 today. It made me realize how wonderful my bike is. Comfort can wait like 30+ years.

@RidingWithTom i wish steed 400 had dis sound !!
Haha Crash it, you bought it. Very nice bike man!
I'm the kind of guy who likes that kind of bike (had a BMW R-50 for years), but unnerving watching you driving down the wrong side of the road.
Great video, I am thinking of buying one of these, thanks mate.
Hmm what bike should I start on in Australia... Looks good even 7 years later !
Wow that looks comfortable to ride, I want one now! Got my sub
