+Adam Rossely Haha excellent! I was wondering if this would ever happen since I've ridden quite a few A1 bikes now. Well I hope you enjoy your new bike! I know I enjoyed riding it. When you go and pick it up tomorrow, tell them you saw my vid :)
Brillant video. Love the commentary. Just bought this bike for my other half and it has the same V&H pipes (yeah after market) I read the comments and I agree, new pads on the brakes make all the difference. Awesome first bike!
Ohhhh that exhaust sound! Sounds the part, looks the part. Classic Honda. As a sportbike rider it actually looks like fun! I've built up enough skill to see myself being able to competently handle a cruiser. My body is ready for the couchboat
+Hagz Couchboat is the perfect way to describe this thing. Man it's so lazy but so comfy, i loved it. Much easier to ride than I first thought it'd be. And yes, those pipes were mint
I really love this review As someone who hasn't driven a cruiser and considering either the Honda shadow or steed This gives clear image of what to expect and I love it Thank you
Aye!!!! Noticed you were on Canterbury road. Right near me!! :D loved the review. I really love the look of the Vt400. Was considering getting it as my first bike

Wow, you're so extremely close to where I liveXD Slowly realizing you were riding along a road I use so often was awesome, certainly hasn't happened to me before watching these types of videos:P
Man, this looks so incredibly similar to the VT750. I'd love to try one of these to see how they compare. I love riding my VT750, but it is about that total cruiser mindset. You just rip it sometimes and other times, you just sit back and relax. Shadows carry their weight VERY low compared to other bikes, so they don't feel like they are going to tip.
Coming from a gutless Royal Enfield 350, my switch to a cruiser is a welcome change, although riding the tight twisties is a learning curve for sure. 👍
Put some quality sintered brake pads in that puppy and she will stop just fine Honda just use standard el cheapo pads change em lickety split you will definately feel more strength and confidence in the brakes. my shadow stops great its no sports bike but it sure is cool also because your used to your sport bike brakes your comparing them with the sport bike feel. Your comparing the shadow to your sports bike because that's what you own and have experience riding and lets face it, it does nothing like a sports bike cruiser baby CRUISER. Even this baby shadow sounds fantastic with the pipes it has on, these bikes are real sleepers guys they slip on under the radar without anyone noticing how bloody good they are. Take it form me I been riding all forms of motorcycles for 35plus years these cruisers are the bomb. love the vid you didn't rag the bike just enjoyed it.
I ride a suzuki inazuma 250 with one exhaust on each side and weighing atleast 12 kilos each, the bike feels so bloody heavy!. This bike is freakin heavy. And every time I jumped on an 1100 triumph Bonneville because I like to sit on this things at the bike shop lol, it felt like a feather lol. So I can't wait to get my own cruiser :D.
im getting a shadow as a first bike next week, how would you say the brakes fair compared to some other sports bikes? i notice you said theyre not as good as your bikes brakes just wanted to make sure theyre totally viable?
Was you by chance using the rear brakes with the front, that is how these bikes stop better, and it works on standard & sports bikes as well, it can help cornering in sharp corners, if you haven't been riding like that it really comes in handy, it can keep you upright on slick areas better & rocks roads as well. It's good to ride all the type one can.. yl
That makes sense, less weight to stop as well. I've been thinking of buying one of these bikes, or the X model seeing I ride so much, and they are cheap to buy if you get a year old one, they are on sale $4,550.00 US + tax & tiles fees, so not bad in my little book. lol
My Man please read and replay my comment.. I really need an advice i will buy a bike just like this (honda shado 400) and the last time i drove a bike was in 2013 since that time till now i have never drive any bike so.. Is my option on (honda) cool or in need to chose another bike?? Thank you and sorry for my english
Been riding the shadow 400 for a few months now and it’s a top bike very comfortable but gutless going uphill needs to go down a gear to get up there but apart from that I’m so happy with it my upgrade will be the 750 same bike and same motor just the sleeves in the cylinder walls are the only difference in size from 400 to 750
I ride a VLX400 for 5 years now 80-120kph is the happy spot for the engine higher than that the engine would be screaming Steep Climbs..it's a 400cc V-Twin on a Wide Ratio Box you would be downshifting very soon if you would compare it to a car it feels like a 90's Corolla with a 1.6L engine & 4/AT with soft suspension
I actually just bought this bike!! I pick it up tomorrow. Can't believe there was a TH-cam video of it...crazy!!!
+Adam Rossely
...and when I say this bike, I literally mean THIS bike!!
+Adam Rossely Haha excellent! I was wondering if this would ever happen since I've ridden quite a few A1 bikes now. Well I hope you enjoy your new bike! I know I enjoyed riding it. When you go and pick it up tomorrow, tell them you saw my vid :)
Hows the power ? Im tossing up between this and a 650 .

I’ve ridden my VT400C with the same pipes, (Vance & Hines) for just over a year…I LOVE IT!!!

can you review the honda steed ?
So i 'm going from a honda baja to a shadow 400 do you recommend it?

+Mackenzie Franklin They're viable. They work, they just weren't as good as my breaks
+Linden's Motorcycle Channel (LMC) thanks mate!

+ylism I always use both front and rear brakes
+Linden's Motorcycle Channel (LMC) Well you are way ahead of most who ride sportbikes then !;-) good for you ! yl
I asked because you said the brakes were not so good, now I know they are real bad !
+ylism I mean, they work! But they aren't as good as my bike's brakes :P

Hows the engine run while doing 100 - 110 kmh ? How does it handle a steep climb ?
I ride a VLX400 for 5 years now
80-120kph is the happy spot for the engine
higher than that the engine would be screaming
Steep Climbs..it's a 400cc V-Twin on a Wide Ratio Box

A little bit of wee coming out reminds you your alive.
Hello!
what is an internet source you use for ordering the spare parts for honda shadow vt 400?
is the shadow a good starter bike? thanks mate
It's a great little cruiser. I haven't ridden many but the shadow is definitely a pretty low-key choice. Brakes didn't impress me much though!
ok thanks
Is that a learner bike?
Thanks....
Shaft drive version ?
In the uk 125cc is the max for ur first bike it's absolutely ridiculous:(
Yeah wow, that's painful!
Ours is 650
for a vietnamese first bike is only 50cc,yeeeaaaaa..............
Strayyaa moit
Hmm, wanted one.. now I'm concerned about the brakes
I was going to buy a similar bike, but I ended up with a 1995 Magna 750
what year is the bike?
I honestly don't remember!
I never knew they made 400cc
This isn't stock exhaust, I guess?
Weirdest analogy I've ever heard... This bike feels like a boat. Haha
+HyoRidaa Haha, well it does feel like it just floats along!
what is the top speed?
160 km per hour
സൂപ്പർ ബൈക്ക്
is this stock exhaust?
😋👍
