  • Full build of Meng's 1:35 scale FV510 Warrior TES(H) AIFV model kit, as used by the British Army in Operation Telic and Operation Herrick. This version of the Warrior features slat armour to protect against RPGs and similar weapons. The slat armour is provided as plastic, which I personally prefer - I couldn't imagine bending all the required photoetch into shape. You can find the kit here: amzn.to/370Fk7H
    Enjoy the video and look forward to painting and weathering in part 2, coming soon.

    LOL, LOL, you're just like me! Love the way you dry-fit the unpainted sub-assemblies! I've got the old Academy Warrior almost finished. The upper and lower hull are not glued, and can be disassembled, after I slip off the front armor. I used a piece of Evergreen styrene strip to add a piece under the front armor which "locks" it into place without gluing!....
    Now, thanks to your video, I gotta go get this Meng kit! And watch your Part2 video. Merci beaucoup, mon ami!....

    Staggering how many "greeblies" there are to be put on instead of being molded in. The few that are molded in, like the door handle on the rear door stand out.

      The purpose of the cage that when under attack say an RPG the RPG round hits the cage initiating the heat of the explosive core thus by the time it hits the vehicle armour it’s lost the heat & energy too penetrate the armour. Basically cooled the main core of the explosive that penetrates the armour thus cannot penetrate the main armour

    • @markfergerson2145
      @markfergerson2145 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pipmeister2103 I was thinking that simulating battle damage on that armor would be lots of fun. Cut a hole, bend the cut ends inward and paint "carbon scoring" and maybe some pitting on the plate underneath.
      I don't know that any actually received such damage or if there are any reference pictures available, but still.

    You might try the Meng modern German tank crew figures, as two out of the four supplied are dressed in desert tankers kit which as far as I can tell is more or less identical to the British kit. Also you get two modern German tankers in Northern Europe kit which would be handy for Meng’s Leopard 2 kit. I have both kits to build, so I get to use all four crew figures, so a pretty good deal all round!

    I'm building takoms bulldog you would like this kit if liked the warrior! The slate armour on the warrior I thought was just to thick you do notice it when it's sitting next to the bulldog and the rfm challenger 2 TES kit on shelf but still a good build! Takom also have a full interior od a slightly different version that you could use the interior out of I'm sure if so wanted to! There same vehicle it would make a mega difference to this kit if it was as good as the Bradley!
