I've been having some issues with my target cam. The last time I used this camera it lost focus. This time it did some kind of weird exposure to the targets. I do apologize for this as I try to make good quality videos. Other than that I hope you enjoy the video and have a great week.
I have had outstanding results with BBM 40 grn lead round nose (their product #BBM22LRHVLRN40DE) from my 10/22 custom build [receiver and bolt are Ruger with the Ruger BX-Trigger, 18" M4 profile barrel with 1-14" twist from Brownell's and held to together in a Nordic Components made Ruger SR-22 Chassis] I am getting 1/4" to 1/2" groups at 50 meters but it in more capable hands than mine it will probably do better. The BBM .22lr does have a light wax coating which has yet to cause any issues and I do wipe them lightly with a paper towel before loading into the magazine. If you can get any, they are worth trying, sadly I am down to 20 rounds left of the 10 boxes of 50 that I started with.
Thanks again Buffalo. Even though the Wolf Match Extra was eliminated, I'm still lovin' this series. And with all the high end ammo you have tried, I'm really surprised that they haven't dominated the test. MY son and I have a couple of lower cost "precision" 22lr bolt guns but we are thinking hard about replacing them with one of these rifles. Can't wait for your final comments. Stay warm my friend! Things in the Louisiana countryside are cold and dark.
I know I've said it before, but it warrants saying again. Thank you for your absolute candor in the way and results of these tests. even down to slowing the video back to speed for the misfire. this series has become my favorite so far and I find myself watching for the next video. Awesome video and great shooting Buffalo! Thank You!
@@buffalosoutdoors yup and i just received a Browning Buckmark Hunter with 7.25 barrel and it will shoot anything! That’s great because i was sitting on a case (5000) Remington thunderbolts! Have a great day my friend! ✌🏼😎👍🏼
Great video @buffalo, I have a 457 ProVarmint that I absolutely love. I found it shoots best with RWS Rifle Match and did a review about it on my channel. However, I have found that the rifle is real picky on what it likes and doesn't like. Surprisingly, it likes Eley alright, but hates super hot loads like Mini Mags, Super Velocity and most of Aguila's line up. My best 5 shot group was .266" at an indoor 50yrd range.
Hi Buffalo, It looked good to me. In the UK we never had anywhere near the choice of ammo that you do in the States. I used Ely subsonic always, as it was quiet, accurate and the only subsonic ammo that I could get. Used it for years and never had a missfire. Surprised that you did. I find it quite enlightening, how the small change in your position necessary to go to the next target can affect your point of impact so much. I shows how important it is to be consistent in everything that you do. Loved the video as always.
That is Wall of Fame good right there! The ammo seems consistent, no misfires or low power rounds. I'd say it's the shooter, not the ammo or the weather that kept those groups nice and tight 😁👍🏽
Looking forward to the shoot off. Thinking back I don't remember a really bad group from any of the ammo you've shot. You've done a great job presenting this series.
Thanks for another great video. I really like this series. Watching these videos motivated me to order one of these rifles. If Texas ever thaws out maybe it will ship. Thanks again.
Another good round of shots. One misfire out of all the rounds you've shot so far is pretty darn good. Cant wait to see how this one plays out. Keep up the good work Buffalo 🐃
Very good video. Well done narration. Very business like and excellent organization and preparation. And quite informative. I will look to find your other videos in this series.
I really appreciate the time you are taking to do this. Every time you say you are going to square off the top rounds under the same conditions I cant help but wonder if you did the same test under multiple conditions. The difference probably wouldn't be dramatic. Shoot in a high pressure weather system and a low pressure one.
Good shooting on this one...I think that last one was all you...you were ready to look at the groups up close. Happens to me, sometimes during competition.
Very good one!!! I found the Eley Tenex works perfect on the Kriko semiauto and the Anschüts Model 1416 And this ammo is way less expensive than LAPUA 😎👍
Another great one, did you had the chance to assess the miss fire case if it has good firing pin dent? or the reason for the miss fire cause by a light strike of the firing pin. Thanks
Another great one. With only two contestants left then the final showdown. What will the next ammo comparison be? What about a 10/22 vs the CZ with the winning round?
I was wondering if Eley was going to be in the test. I don’t have a CZ, I shot the Ruger RPR .22lr and it loves all the different Eley I have been able to find these days. I’ll have to see if I can find a box or 2 of the Team to try it out. Great video, keep them coming.
Well I hated to see the Wolf go but cookie crumbles sometimes! Boy that fourth group was weird , the miss fire and they shifted from slightly below center to slightly above center. Anyways another good video Buffalo!, Thanks!!
I know your wanting to leave the rifle stock for these tests, but the 457 trigger will adjust to around 1.5 lbs and with a spring change its goes down to 12oz
Hey, Buff....I have a CZ 24” AT-1 457. great shooter. I am thinking I might do even better with an MTR barrel, although 4” shorter. My first concern is that I shoot CCI Quiet .22 @ 710 fps. Will the tighter mtr chamber choke on those? Do you think I’d be trading up in accuracy in going to an MTR barrel??
He's been looking for cci standard pressure and I've been trying to get him some but he won't agree or decline, I don't think he reads any form of his social media
I wonder if you chose the best 3 of 5 groups would give different results. I only say this because we get a flier from time to time. Sometimes is the ammo, but more often than not (for me at least) it’s the shooter. Just wondering if you considered this? Love the videos!
Only way to determine that is go back to each video and throw out the worst and best group in that ammo and calculate the average on the three best...ammo,variability and operator error are two reasons to do that..However in Buffalo’s case the ammo is probably the bigger variable.
Hey Buffalo… I know you’’ve got your itinerary already established… and it’s good… I”m wondering… if you threw out the best group and the worst group of each five… would it change the results significantly? Keep it up brother… 😊
Always have to wait to the very end to enjoy the music. Another great video. Curious if you have the ammo chosen for the last tests? I have 2 boxes of RWS short chamber left I would donate for the test. Can’t find any RWS target rifle which has been my best so far. Too cold here and snows too deep to shoot. Thanks again.
Very entertaining to see you doing these different test? I would like to see how the Aguila super extra 40gr, and the Aguila subsonic also 40gr do in your cz457! I see very impressive results in my cz455 supermatch with dose two, and I heard in one of your videos that you like the super extra!
The 22 caliber cartridge the pickiness or picky is the why that I have not bought one yet plus it is an unimpressive round. Small game cartridge excels.
5:56 It's about time you had a misfire, no rimfire ammunition is perfect. The good thing about having a misfire on video is that you can analyze yourself. I watched it 3 times and let me tell you sir you have reptile blood in those veins! No movement anywhere. Good shooting.
If I were you; I wouldn’t change a thing on that rifle because it shoots just fine the way it is. More times than not; when you have something working well and try making it better is a big mistake. I would also not rule out all the brands of ammo tested at 50-yards until I tried them a longer ranges; like 100-yards. Often time’s different ammo performs better than others once the range increases. All the brands of ammo you have tested performed well; it is just a matter of price for performance gained. A low deviation between shots is good in most cases; however it doesn’t always guarantee it shoots best as range increases. Once you complete this testing you should buy a CZ 22 WMR and see how they compare to a 22 LR. That would be fun to see too.
So Buffalo , have you ever consider getting into the air rifle hobby (shooting and maybe hunting ) ? Especially when firearm ammo are low or hard to come by
I don`t know whether any else has notice this but every time i watch one of your videos and mark it thumbs up and leave that one and go to another and come back the thumbs up is no longer showing and no matter how many time i go back on those videos after i mark it again it no longer shows it has been marked thumbs up.
That last group was you. At minimum you should have chucked the flyer out when measuring the group. That .212 group demonstrated what that rifle & ammunition are capable of.
I've been having some issues with my target cam. The last time I used this camera it lost focus. This time it did some kind of weird exposure to the targets. I do apologize for this as I try to make good quality videos. Other than that I hope you enjoy the video and have a great week.
great video as always got some more winchester white box and mini mags calling my name when the weather breaks
It’s cold 🤷♂️
Getting wore out ,I reckon
Funny thing about that, I did blink a couple of times, thinking it was my sight. So, it's good to know it's not my eyesight, at least.

Thank you for all the videos I have from you my friend 🇺🇸
You are clearly a scientist with your approach to this series..Thank you
I just picked up a 457 MTR and really appreciate your diligence in helping dial in the preferred ammo. AND love the chicken picking accomplanyment!!

This MTR seems to love Lapua ammo even better the cheaper Lapua ammo as SK ammo is made in the Lapua factory. Nice shooting.
Awesome! My CZ 457 canadian edition loves the SK standard (500 can) trainer ammo
These 457s really seem to take to the SK Standard!

Good video. My first time seeing that particular 22lr round.
Man you keep showing this gun and I’m gonna have to buy one lol. What an excellent rim fire
We're getting closer to the shoot off, Thanks Buffalo 👍
Love this 457 series, one of my favorite to wait for. Thanks alot
And there you have it!!!
Looks like some pretty decent ammunition, of course we all know you make it look good because you’re such a good shot

I couldn't hardly find some of these 22 rds before the panic buying lol. great video!
thumbs up on the banjo music!
Another Great Video!!!! I am jealous of seeing your grass, mine is under 2ft of snow.
Not notified, but at least I found it in my feed. Maybe because I just finished uploading...
Yay! I was waiting for the next installment! More great groups

Love these 22lr test especially with stock out of the box rifles yes sir 50 yd separates the Polk stalks from the shooting irons in 22lr

Great shooting, I really enjoy watching the ammunition tests👍
That one I’ve not tried yet in the RPR 22LR. Impressive PIP editing.
Good shooting...I’m enjoying these videos 👍👍👍 looking forward to the next post 🙂🙂🙂
Those are great groups. I bet you'll get bett ones on a calm cloudy day with the right ammo. I'm getting a jones for a CZ 22, that's for sure.
Looks like we’re coming into the final turn. It would be fun to have a little side pot set up. 😉

I have 2 CZ 455s, a Cz 512 and. Cz 527. I am tempted by the CZ 457 Varmint MTR you are using here. Not sure if you can compare it to the CZs I own.
Another great one, did you had the chance to assess the miss fire case if it has good firing pin dent? or the reason for the miss fire cause by a light strike of the firing pin.
Thanks
Like your videos. I was wondering what your thoughts were on micro groove barrels. Are they more accurate.
I have the same gun and thankfully it likes the federal bulk pack stuff just fine
Great shooting like always...looking forward to the shoot off!
Buffalo, pretty good shooting, keep the videos coming !!
Good shooting
Dang, makes me want one of those rifles! 😁
