    I'm doing a carbon fiber project that has a small blow out that needs fixed. Since I can't match the pattern up I decided to repaint it and start over. When you have to start over and paint the base color again do you strip the existing paint and film off or just paint over the existing base and film? Love the tips and tricks videos! Thanks!

    After doing the second dip for the touch up, are you using an air brush to blend things? Thank you for the videos.

    Your first vid I ever saw gave me the confidence to do this, I have my parts scuffed and painted, the film cut and taped and now watching what could go wrong with activation I'm nervous to do it.

    Do you have a video on how to do the touch ups?

  • @WestBerlinCustoms

    Nice video! I have to do this from time to time, too. Depending on the brand of tape there is a risk of pulling tiny parts of the film off, sometimes. There is a nice hint: Soak the tape in the rinse station or just manually with water and it will fall off by itself. No risk of further damage. #successfulDipsEverybody 👋😉👍

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that is a great tip! Also when it does pull off tiny dots like that it usually means that you are under activated with your activator being applied to your film.

      Liquid Concepts, LLC Thanks for your reply, Bryan. Unfortunately I have a lot of pics showing underactiveted parts, because every fiml behaves a little different. Recently I found out about the complexity of wood grain. I guess in the US you would say, it can be a "pita"!? 😁 Different brands, film thickness and the amount of ink sometimes keep me busy. #800grid 👋😉👍

      West-Berlin-Customs very true! If only every film could be the same😜 Would save us all a TON of time and headache

    • @WestBerlinCustoms
      @WestBerlinCustoms 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed - but the technology is developing and materials improve. Did you know about a film not needing any activator anymore? I've seen a video on insta a few minutes ago. Very interesting stuff.

    If you have rebasecoat,do you spray over the old film,or strip it somehow?Also,I still can't find a video on what happens after the dip(how to rinse,etc)Do you have one?Thanks for sharing!

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the time you can just scuff with a red scotch brite pad and then paint over the existing dip that was bad. As for the rinsing, we are still working on getting that video into production at the moment.

    Hi Brian, I am a newbie in this field , what was the paper you used in this video was a grease proof paper as used in cooking ?
    Thanks for the tips videos they are great John

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a regular piece of roll paper that we cut out to have that shape and then tape around the sides of it. Regular printer paper will work as well.

    do you primarily use white as your base and what paint do you suggest?

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on the film. For camo we typically go with beige, tan, or white.

  • @seandenny2412
    @seandenny2412 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What seals it on repair? How does a Browning company seal camo , is the film seal itself when dry? Or does it need a Matt clear?

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All hydrographics needs to have a clear coat applied over the top of it for protection.

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA

      You could be getting too much activator on your brush when you are dabbing it

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA

    What is the secret to keeping the tape from sticking to the dipped area. When I put tape on the new dipped area to redip the blowout area it pulls it off...

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the tape is pulling the dip off, then you have an activator problem. You need to make sure your activating the film correctly so it will bond correctly to the paint.

    • @LiquidConceptsUSA
      @LiquidConceptsUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว
