Drug Store formed in 1998. A solo project of vocalist Tetsu, it released its first single, "Junk (ジャンク)", in June of 1999, to mediocre sales in the underground music scene. Drug Store pushed onward, however, and in January of 2000, the project released its first full length album, "Psychedelic Coaster Ride", which was a surprising smash in the underground music scene, finally establishing Drug Store as one of the most promising up-and-coming artists from the early 2000s underground music scene. In October of 2001, Drug Store released its first mini-album, "The End of the Beginning", which, while not as successful as "Psychedelic Coaster Ride", still had relatively strong sales, and Drug Store then went on to tour throughout the remainder of 2001 and most of 2002 heavily, although they would only appear on one omnibus that year, "Red Groove TV", in May, and instead spent the year touring instead. In December of 2003, Drug Store released its second full length album, "Safer Than Heaven", which was another success in the underground music scene, although despite its success, the project would not release any other material, and would instead tour sporadically for the next few years, until eventually disappearing in 2007. After its disintegration, Tetsu then appeared to have retired from the underground music scene in general.
