the way your primary and secondary fire are swapped has always intrigued me but ive been too scared to switch them.. until now. today i refreshed all my old settings and trying out everything new... wish me luck☺
i've been wondering how your movement in your gameplay has been so precise compared to my own - never realized how the beam sensitivity setting worked! excited to play around with what works for me. thanks for explaining!
A simple change but i didn't realize how better it felt switching damage boost as a left click and heals as the right click, such a tiny adjustment but it feels so much better 😮
Thanks for providing more info about the beam sensitivity! I do struggle with switching beams when teammates are close, but I didn't know how to fix that! So, Thanks! :)
No problem! There's a surprising amount of people that don't know what the beam sens does which is understandable since the game doesn't give much context
as a console user (PS4) i re-bound jump to L2 (originally x), res to L3 (originally L2), interact to x (originally L3) and weapon swap to square (originally right d-pad). In doing this, it makes using directional ga and angelic decent so much easier. I also recommend turning off 'crouch activates angelic decent'. It just gives you better control over mercy's flight even in valk it feels better. Note, on console, all heroes that use jump a lot or need jump to be held (like wall climb or wall ride), i recommend swapping the jump button to L2. Then swap L2's original function to L3 and L3's original to 'x'.
Man I know that my movement could improve drastically with toggle guardian angel off, but I have become so used to having it on it feels very rough when turning it off, I know its better and will help me become a better Mercy but I'm procrastinating it hehe.
It'll feel weird at first and it'll take time to get used to but it's worth it. The sooner you change it, the sooner you'll get used to it and the easier it'll be to switch
Most of theses settings I had implemented over the years big fan btw, I am a controller player but the only thing I have my angelic descent on toggle because if not it limits my fingers to react in certain situations.
Toggle GA Off is definitely better if you can! Good luck with changing up your settings, just make sure you give yourself enough time to adjust to them. You'll get used to it :>
I've honestly always loved favor beam because I could pharamercy while looking around the rest of the map while staying on Pharah. It feels uncomfortable focusing at looking at pharah while the rest of my team is elsewhere. And it applies basically to anyone else I pocket. Beam is on them, watching everything around me, but I can keep on them and leave if I need to by looking elsewhere and letting my beam go momentarily. It's also saved my life a ton of times when losing vision of the person I'm beamed to, but I can fly to them for a moment while the beam is still connected without actually being able to see them.
I just came back to OW after a years break and the "new" GA prefer facing target and different sens setting for blaster are a godsend. ty for your guide
Aww, congrats on diamond! I'm glad to be posting again, I missed y'all over here. I had a hard time with being able to edit for a while but hopefully I'm back in the groove now
ty for your content :) you’re one of the people who have helped me get MUCH better at mercy! also!! a reason i’ve seen people argue for upping the sensitivity on mercy’s blaster higher than the staff’s sensitivity was for console and controller players so they can still do a spin rez if they swap weapons… kinda niche and it means you basically never can aim with the blaster but i guess that’s one reason for it to be used?😅
My quick melee is C, it feels kinda easier for me since moving your big thumb in “inside and left” motion is kinda easier than just upwards. Maybe my hands are just small but anyways😅
Well, time to change my settings again. I’m still learning mercy and want to be viable when I can when I have pocketing opportunities. I mostly play flex support like bap, Ana, Illari, and Kiriko, but I have been learning mercy over the last couple of seasons. I do play on console, but I have to learn from the best to improve. Thanks again for the video and may you receive many blessings 🖤🌻
I know this is an older video, but a lot of things you said about "Toggle beam on" is incorrect. You can seamlessly swap between beam modes just fine if you press the button again instead of holding it - even if you're not looking at the ally - and you can still automatically connect to an ally if you hold the button down, just like with GA range.
I swear the only thing my brain struggles with is the toggle beam, I got so used to clicking it instead of holding it. As a controller player that fatigue can hurt my fingers bad but I’m gonna try
I suspect the toggle Angelic Descent option is there for console players, who have jump/crouch on a face button by default, and players who prefer toggle crouch. Using toggle crouch to superjump used to basically toggle AD on, but I think the separate toggle AD setting splits those behaviors. So the player can still use toggle crouch and crouch for AD, but not have to double-tap to avoid AD after superjumping.
Can u please make another one about console bc me personally I can’t match nun of my sensitivity movement sometimes I feel I’m playing wrong or maybe my settings is too much for me to control. But I enjoy your vids and hope u post more I enjoy the content ❤
I'd highly encourage you to give it another shot and give yourself some time to learn playing w/ it. It'll feel really weird whenever you first swap but you get used to it
i was always a Prefer Facing Target GA mercy up until ow2 mercy came out. that setting became way too buggy since they changed the way GA works. so now i deal with Beam Only GA --- and i havent been faced with the same buggy shit again :D
As a console player i do not like crouch activates angelic descent, it messes with superjump and getting the right momentum, it also severely limits movement by not letting you have the option to superjump the old way. I didnt realize this until we were finally given the option to turn it off. Maybe this is dependent on the button layout a console player chooses? Or the fact i use paddles to a great extent, but i would recc console players to test these settings for themselves.
I use beam connection on and have no issue breaking the beam, I rarely need to break it but if I need to I just swap to the gun and back to the staff with mouse wheel or I melee. Same as if my beam target die, I instantly connect my beam on someone else so it change nothing from having it off. Maybe it's the many years of playing with those settings, but everything is automatic in my gameplay so I personnaly wont change my settings since in my opinion they are the best Mercy settings. For Rise during valk I still don't understand why they put it in her settings since it's useless imo. If some prefer using it, I'd gladly hear in what it's better for them to use it.
The thing with when your beam target dies is when it's ON, you'll have to click again to activate your beam. When it's OFF, it'll just automatically connect and you don't have to do anything extra
@@Skiestiyea but that small trade off isn’t worth having to press down 1-2 buttons continuously all day, it’s a lot less effort personally and it saves me more brainpower to keep track of other things in game to just play with toggle beam. It’s all preference though

Imo if the mercy is good, having it on change nothing cause she's supposed to know if the heal will be enough or not and she know if her beam target is gonna die so she should be ready already to reconnect it to someone else. Im a console player so my settings are a bit different there but on pc its overall the same toggle angelic descent is nice on console cause holding crouch or jump can be a bit uncomfortable at times and i got used to toggling quickly
i thought settings were personal preference rather than a requirement to have a certain way. im also on console so might be different. i leave toggle beam connection on because my finger hurts from holding the buttons too long.
I mean at the end of the day you can use whatever you'd like y'know? But there's certain settings that have more benefits than the others, there's no reason to not use them if it's possible
I'm a Mercy main myself and I have a random question. Why do you never really rez? Not shaming at all, everyone's playstyle is different, that's what I love about Overwatch. It seems I'm using it whenever I can to try and win a fight. (No I don't rez when the point is already lost and we're down 3 and it's just me and someone else)
Great question! A big reason I don't really rez is because in higher ranked lobbies, you have a lot less opportunities (people are watching for rez more, they could be playing a certain comp that puts me in danger, etc), and most of the time, staying alive is more important to winning a fight than getting the rez
I have the problem when im holding guardin angel and try to crouch jump with my mouse button, mercy stops flying and crouch, with guardian angle toggle i dont have the problem, do you have any ideas?
3:51 can someone explain to me HOW did she go up without pressing ctrl?? If i press space i get pushed forward, only way i can go up is pressing ctrl...
as a console player i actually have toggle crouch on. since i play on a controller it is impossible for me to hold the jump button and turn the camera at the same time so i've gotten used to pressing B ( crouch ) to super jump and stay in the air or if i don't want to do that i double tap it to just fall after rising in the air. i tried using the 'secondary fire activates AD' and switching Rez to LT but keeping the trigger held down hurts so i keep toggle crouch on. saves my fingers from hurting lol. also idk why Rez is secondary fire it makes more sense that DB would be but oh well i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Serious inquiry. So before I changed to these settings I would be able to GA to someone and then double back like GA backwards or past the person I’m GA’ing to if that makes sense. Now I feel like I can only go up. How do I do that with these settings or do I have to change some of them back?🫶🏾

A big reason I don't really rez is because in higher ranked lobbies, you have a lot less opportunities (people are watching for rez more, they could be playing a certain comp that puts me in danger, etc), and most of the time, staying alive is more important to winning a fight than getting the rez
@@Skiesti That makes a whole lot of sense thank you for breaking it down for me!! ❤️
why did they remove the relative cadeceus blaster aim senstivity?
Would this work on console ? I notice some of the settings are way different then pc ones
I have the problem when im holding guardin angel and try to crouch jump with my mouse button, mercy stops flying and crouch, with guardian angle toggle i dont have the problem, do you have any ideas?
thank you ski!
I was wondering why you're playing with both Guardian Angel and Beam Sensitivity on 100%.
I had these as my settings before watching this
I'm so proud of you
@@Skiesti mercy chose me 🥹
Where did YT streams go?
Wondering
Ayyo... 25% @1600dpi? I'm at 4% 1600dpi and think even that is way too high sometimes... 25% would be crazy
3:51 can someone explain to me HOW did she go up without pressing ctrl?? If i press space i get pushed forward, only way i can go up is pressing ctrl...
Keybind difference? She went over it at the start
as a console player i actually have toggle crouch on. since i play on a controller it is impossible for me to hold the jump button and turn the camera at the same time so i've gotten used to pressing B ( crouch ) to super jump and stay in the air or if i don't want to do that i double tap it to just fall after rising in the air.
i tried using the 'secondary fire activates AD' and switching Rez to LT but keeping the trigger held down hurts so i keep toggle crouch on. saves my fingers from hurting lol. also idk why Rez is secondary fire it makes more sense that DB would be but oh well i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ski, I love you and your content, but I will never understand why you prefer beam toggle off suhaushauhsuahsuhaushasa anyway, loved the video, thanks for it
Toggle Beam Off? I said in the video why I prefer it and why it's better 😭
@@Skiesti I know! suhaushausha in your other videos about it you already said that too, but I can't, holding a button the whole match is not for me ushauhsuahsuahsa but like, its life, we have different tastes and what makes more comfortable. All the love
This helps
Always have our backs!
I have my beam on toggle so I don't have to keep pressing another button down T.T
It's a setting made in heaven for the lazy folks like me lmao

Sadly I'm a Ps4 player😔, it's difficult but I do my best always🥲
Serious inquiry. So before I changed to these settings I would be able to GA to someone and then double back like GA backwards or past the person I’m GA’ing to if that makes sense. Now I feel like I can only go up. How do I do that with these settings or do I have to change some of them back?🫶🏾
