I tried these new settings on switch and they made a HUGE difference! Already my movement is so much better and enemies have much harder time killing me. I can easily fly from teammate to another, also I noticed that my map awareness is significantly better than before.
I don't know how many more videos I'll be making specifically for console but I'm glad I could make this one for y'all and I'm going to continue to make my guides as friendly to both console and PC as much as I can 💛

I think the parts where you described movements with a visual and outside of a game were the most helpful as the gameplay can be a bit distracting (although it’s badass) :) Ty for the awesome vid!
As someone who plays on consoles I saw mercy flying all over the map and I was flabbergasted. I didn't know how to play her to be so mobile. Thanks for video
as a console Mercy main i loved this video! it's so informative and interesting! i do have my beams on the triggers and on toggle, easier on the fingers for me, and i've gotten used to having my crouch on toggle B. that way i don't have to hold down LT to stay floating ( i tried it and my left finger was getting sore holding it down lol ), i just tap B and i stay in the air and when i want to come down i tap it again and to do a little jump in the air i double tap it. for switching weapons i actually have that on left stick, easier to just press it down to get to my gun quickly for me but other than that, my bindings are pretty much the same. GA on LB, Rez on RB, jump on A, Quick Melee on R stick down. i was thinking about getting a pro-controller so i could have those paddles but man those things are expensive lol.
From a mercy that plays on Xbox a way to get around the awkward binds is to change your grip. I personally use the default binds and keep my thumbs on the sticks while using my pointer finger to press jump and croutch while using my middle and ring finger to heal/damage boost.
The sensitivity is definitely going to take a long time to get used to, especially since I play other heroes as well, but I believe it is going to improve my aim overall
As a Mercy man on Xbox, I highly suggest investing into the elite controller. The amount of buttons you have to press to properly perform the maneuvers. Makes it so much easier.
Great video! I'm really enjoying these settings on the practice range rn. Before I had GA bound to RS with jump on LB and crouch on LS. Gonna take some time to get used to these changes but I think this control scheme is vastly superior.

This is a such a helpful guide the only thing I’d say is for ps5 players coz of the adaptive triggers I recommend having jump on L1 and GA on L2 trust me your fingers will thank me later 😂
Honestly, just changing weapon swap from right on the D-pad to up on the D-pad made swapping so much easier, just a little less of a reach for your thumb and you dont have to take your right thumb off analogue so you can line up your shot a bit faster mid swap
I personally would like a more in-depth explanation for the exponential ramping choice over linear sens wise i use virtually the same thing except its linear insted of exponential
So to my understanding this is true! However so for Expo it scales up exponentially so it does start out slower kinda like Dual zone but it’s not a set separation in sensitivity even if you barely move your joystick, the speed with increase as long as it’s held until a max point. For linear this whole concept doesn’t exist the Sens will be max the entire time, even if you only move the joystick by a hair. This makes tracking with linear ramp pretty difficult but it’s good for flicking and stuff. It also makes the joystick feel a lot more sensitive. I personally don’t like Linear (in part that I’ve used Expo ramp for like 5 years now) but that’s all preference I’d def mess around with those and see what you like the most.

I don't understand why anybody playing console WOULDN'T have the highest sensitivity on any game. You may start out bad but that's the same for any game but if it's always at the highest sensitivity, you will have the potential to play the best you can. Lower sensitivity lowers your overall gameplay potential on console

ima be so honest i am a mecry main on ps5 ive been one for 5 yrs now and back when i started you couldnt find mercy settings for console so i had to figure it out myself and i did the same thing with rez being x and jump being L2
Made these changes to my character and I’m so bad rn cause I’m not used to these controls… and yet, first game as mercy, My healing was 💩, but I had 35 assists and ppl messaged “God Mercy.” I’ll take that as a good sign cause I’ve never gotten that before lol. Thank you.
Nice to see this. From my own personal experience the only way to play mercy on console is with a scuf controller otherwise there was no combination of controls I found comfortable
I felt really good when he said sensitivity doesn't matter when you have to react fast (basically i have it 75 and 65 for better aim in 1v1 and even practiced on aim training but i used to have it 90 85 to react ) i thought so It did matter since I felt the movement of the camera very robotic.❤

The code used in this video is GSPG8 Just go make a custom game and input this code and it sets the game to be this workshop mode where you can practice!
@Andriatic cx I'm not sure why but every time I put in that code it says "Error Importing Game Settings Code." But to be honest I didn't even know how to use custom modes so just that information is enough, Just wanted to say thanks again as I'm sure this information will help me out a TON.

I'm perplexed towards the use of "console" both in the video and in the comments. The video seems to be specifically talking about controller. Does everyone use "console" and "controller" interchangably? Or does playing on console actually have some bigger difference that is not present while playing on pc with a controller? Sorry if I didn't catch that up in the video. I've first started playing Overwatch 2 three weeks ago maining Mercy and I'm enjoying my time, your videos are very interesting and well constructed :)
The only real difference between Console and Pc is the use of controller, with which comes with a limitation in sensitivity and control which is why many people often request controller guides or console specific settings to reference. You can attach and play on a controller on PC but most people don’t do that and controller on PC does not grant aim assist or those diff settings. The words aren’t used interchangeably I’d say but when someone says “I play on console” it can be assumed they’re playing on a controller because that’s part of playing on console As for regular gameplay, as I expressed in the vidoe everything is all the same for the most part the game is still Overwatch. There are some minor other differences but nothing major enough to really take note of

Yeah all of that is def preference I’ve never used a scuff controller or paddles so I use the bindings I use for that reason.

Joysticks binding is not always good, it'll soon wear out your joystick and develop a nasty drift
Personally have never had this happen and I’ve been using Left stick to crouch for about 6 years now!

Crying after the mercy nerfs, backward ga is slow now and I have to turn around completely to slingshot😞
When I crouch to jump up, I’m in crouch mode when I land.
