Counselling Empowerment Day 2024: Key Notes - Kenneth Kelly & Rory Lees-Oakes - Counselling Tutor

Our Counselling Empowerment Day 2024 was created to inspire, empower, and provide valuable insight to qualified, trainee, and aspiring counsellors. The day offered an opportunity to learn about a variety of counselling experiences and skills, and good practices in business and professional development.
Key Note speakers: Kenneth Kelly and Rory Lees-Oakes
Kenneth Kelly is an author, practising counsellor, clinical supervisor and co-director of Counsellor Tutor Ltd. Kenneth Kelly’s passion to help students of counselling and psychotherapy began shortly after his own graduation as a counsellor in 2011. Post graduation, Kenneth undertook further studies in education and took up a post as a counselling lecturer at a college in Warrington in England. Kenneth teamed up with a fellow tutor, Rory Lees-Oakes, and together they created CounsellingTutor.com, an online platform with a weekly podcast and articles written specifically to support counselling students with their studies. The formula was simple, take complex counselling theory and decode it into easy-to-understand language. This formula was well received and Counselling Tutor quickly became the world’s largest online support resource for students of counselling and psychotherapy with tens of thousands of site visits each month.
Rory Lees-Oakes is a co-director at Counselling Tutor and author of Counselling Theory to Practice a Students Guide. Rory spent over a decade lecturing counselling and shares his valuable insights in to counselling theory and practice. Rory is a qualified Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor and Lecturer. In 2015 he was awarded the prestigious Silver Plato award for outstanding use of technology in education. He is also a Fellow of the Teaching Awards. An avid drinker of tea you are more likely to find him in a tea room than a bar.
