Easter vs Passover? - The truth about Easter - Is Easter Pagan?-Jim Staley

  • Why have we been celebrating Easter and not Passover if Jesus told us at the Last Supper, which was a Passover meal, to "Do THIS (Passover) in remembrance of [Him]?" In this short video, we explore the fact that not only did the Messiah instruct us to keep it, but the apostle Paul did as well. And if that was not enough, we also have records showing how the early, authentic Christian churches all kept Passover until it was outlawed by the Roman church in both 193 AD and for all time in 325 AD.

This video will leave you gripped with the question 'Why don't we celebrate Passover instead of Easter?" There are millions of people around the world that have made the transition of doing Bible things in Bible ways and have never been the same since they did. Will you be one of the End Times remnants that starts the second exodus back to just following Scripture and honoring God the way our ancestors did?

Really well done and informative video. I grew up in a “we’re Christians who celebrate Easter” family, but now that I am 35, I want to do things the right way in God’s eyes instead of following tradition.

The Spirit is DEFINITELY bringing us back to the worship of Father, and doing things HIS way! I grew up in a protestant home (in South Africa) but asked Father to reveal His true Self to me in 2016. Since then He's been gently bringing me back to the Word and keeping His commandments out of love for Him. Thank you for doing this. xxx

Please pray for me and my children this passover. I’m ready to give up. But my faith in Jesus won’t let me. I lost my job as a social worker because I declined the vaccine. I declined due to my pre existing health condition (Lupus) and heart disease. I’m on a bunch of medications including blood thinners. I was denied my medical/religious exemption from Forsyth hospital. Since losing my job I’ve been struggling to make ends meet. I’m a single mother with two young autistic children. This month I’m facing homelessness. We have nowhere to go. Struggling daily to provide groceries. I’m so ashamed and embarrassed over my situation. I am so overwhelmed, it’s so hard on me. I am all alone no family nor friends to help me durning this time. Please keep me and my children in your prayers this easter. Even though I’m facing homelessness I still have FAITH God will provide!!!

Sister I'm so sorry for what has happened to you and your 2 kids! I will be praying 🙏 for you and hope that Jesus Christ will Bless You with a Job and not lose your house!! Where at do you live? I wish I could help you and your kids out!! I'm here in Albuquerque, New Mexico and if you and your kids were here I wouldn't mind at all in opening up my doors for you guys to stay!!! But sister I can help you out by sending you some money a check. Can you send me your address? Sister do you attend a church where you live? Maybe the pastor or some pastor of a Christian Church around there could help you and your kids out?! Go to a church and ask for help, if they are True Born Again Christian Believers they should be able and want to Help you and your kids!!! It's so Sad Now a days that so called Pastors and Believers Won't Help Out Those Who Are In Need Of Help, But They Are Sure Quick To Get and Want People's Money To Fatten Their Own Pockets So They Can Become Rich 🤑 and Wealthy!!!!! And That Means Even If They Have To Rip Off Their Own Church Members They Will Do It, Just Like This Guy Jim Staley Did To His Elderly Church Members Who He Ripped Off for Millions Of Dollars!!! This So-Called Pastor Has No Business Whatsoever In Leadership Of Pastoring a Church Nor Any Ministry!!! I Can Guarantee You Sister That Jim Staley Won't Respond to Your Comment On Here More Less In Him Trying to Help You and Your Kids Out In Your Dire Situation!!!! Get back to me Sister ASAP okay! I'll try to help you out anyway I can!!!

I totally agree i do get a bit frustrated while I'm still learning the basics of the holy days about the extra traditions.. I'll always ask is it in scripture. However I took advantage of the opportunity on hiding the matza as a visual learning experience to show what sin looks like to my 4 year old. God be with you! God sees our efforts and praise Yah for giving us the desire to want to obey the way he wants us to. 😁

Surprisingly, the entire order of passover service, including much of the incredible symbolism to our messiah, is all tradition (the matzah design is one, and one that Jews incredibly keep). Scriptures does not give us a specific itinerary, just some basics. But the traditions were inspired by scripture. And that is okay. Traditions are not bad. Bad traditions are bad. Great video Jim!

Problem, Yeshua had no problem with tradition. Where did the cup of wine he drank come from? Why does it look like/why does Yeshua seem to keep it as part of the pesach? There is no commandment for wine to be served.

So to follow Easter Sunday you are not having a true Son rise service on some years that it does not fall following the Passover. Holding such a thing equals to "Traditions of Men."

The timing of easter now days is due to man made tradition and synced to the Gregorian calendar by the church. Mr. Staley has videos on all these traditions of men and how it is wrong.

Just wondering if you think circumcision is still required also as the law demands all males eating the passover meal to be circumcised? Exodus 12:48 ESV - If a stranger shall sojourn with you and would keep the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised. Then he may come near and keep it; he shall be as a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.

Is there not enough emphasis on first fruits when it comes to Easter? After all, the resurrection is the emphasis and Passover itself while connected to the resurrection is it’s own observance.
It seems our generation needs a spiritual emphasis on resurrection. And simply comparing Easter to Passover seems lacking to me.

Also, as far as I can read the Seder meal items are also not in the Bible, except Lamb and Bitter Herbs. There is no list of specific foods that I can find, other than lamb and bitter herbs. Also, there is no wine listed anywhere that I can see either. Seems not a good idea to drink before trying to flee. I know anything Alcohol makes me sleepy, so this does not seem like a thing that would happen. Why do we need specific foods to remember certain things? Other than communion, there are no other requirements in the new or old testament on Passover meal, either. Now I don't mind traditions per say, but using food to remind us of things that we should remind ourselves of and be convicted of in our hearts and souls, convicted by the Holy Spirit, seems more what the Scriptures had in mind. When we get bogged down in Traditions (and frivolous meanings of food items) I think we can loose site of what is truly important and what YHWH really wants for us, and that is to focus on HIM. If your going to teach scripture only, then just stick with Scripture ONLY.
I read some of the Seder Meal PDF from the website, and holy cow, it is kind of worse than all the NON biblical traditions of Easter.
Just so folks know, YOU DO NOT HAVE to actually follow the Seder traditions to keep Passover. Keep it simple. Get some Lamb if you like that, maybe chicken, get some bitter herbs, they are good for digestion. Pick some foods you like. Read the story of Exodus, do a communion (bread and drink, the bible also does not say wine for this too, so up to you), pray and be with God. Remember what God did for the people at the 1st Passover and remember what Jesus did for you at His last one.

That's what is being referenced here. The tradition and its meaning, in counterpart to the traditions of Easter.

I no longer call Easter, but the Resurrection Day!

  • @Rev.RobertCarter
    @Rev.RobertCarter 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

We're getting caught up on terminology. "Easter" is "beginning" linguistically. As in the sun rises in the east, an animal in 'estrus' is beginning new life. The Bible refers to Easter, Acts 12:4- the new 'pascha' or new passover. Christians celebrate the fulfilled Passover. --the "beginning" of the church age, (also called the dispensation of Grace.). So we do celebrate the passover - fulfilled. And we call it "beginning" and have since the book of Acts. And yes, bunnies and eggs are definitely and definitively absorbed from pagan celebrations that worshipped the seasons. "New Pascha" is Christian and celebrated in a similar fashion to the type and shadow of the fulfilled Passover.

    • @bigblick101

We went to his feast of tabernacles for the year of 2023. We had a family emergency come up and his version of handling her emotions was to lock my sister who is a minor in a room with grown men and called a mediation to help her deal with her emotions. She was locked in this room and wasn't allowed to leave or call anyone. She was in these interagation for hours and wasn't even let out to eat. If this is there idea of handling an emergency situation I don't know want to imagine how out of hands things could have gotten. This was before he excersized her in front of the entire congregation because he accused her of being gay. Notice how there are recordings for all the days except day 6, its because they had recorded the exorcism and didn't want to post it. There so called security took was more aware of the traffic than the wear about of the children and the medics didn't even have a bandaid on them. This comment isn't to spread hate but to raise awareness that not everyone that preaches in the name of YAWEH is doing his work and this man is one of them.

To Passion for Truth Ministries: This is a bit off-topic. Have you noticed how many images show Yeshua with long hair out there? It still shows on this tape of yours. This seems to contradict Paul's teaching that men should have shorter hair. 1 Corinthians 11:14 ...(I am aware that it is a bad habit to put this image like this everywhere by mistake, not just your organization)

“Wherefore, Trypho, I will proclaim to you, and to those who wish to become proselytes, the divine message which I heard from that man. Do you see that the elements are not idle, and keep no Sabbaths? Remain as you were born. For if there was no need of circumcision before Abraham, or of the observance of Sabbaths, of feasts and sacrifices, before Moses; no more need is there of them now, after that, according to the will of God, Jesus Christ the Son of God has been born without sin, of a virgin sprung from the stock of Abraham. For when Abraham himself was in uncircumcision, he was justified and blessed by reason of the faith which he reposed in God, as the Scripture tells. Moreover, the Scriptures and the facts themselves compel us to admit that He received circumcision for a sign, and not for righteousness." - St. Justin Martyr (Dialogue with Trypho, Chapter XXIII)

Love this except the last Supper was not Passover. Because (A) he broke a loaf of bread (Challah) loaf is not unleavened & (B) Judas was still there during the last Supper but when He told Judas to go & do what he must Yeshua was getting rid of the leaven among them. (C) Yeshua was the Passover Lamb so He wasn't able to celebrate the last Passover. Those who would eat of Him during subsequent Passover's the unleavened 1 during Unleavened bread. The last Supper was a special celebration that Rabbi's would do with their disciples as a celebration of their graduation. He said any time we break bread remember Him not just once a year as Passover but every time.

@@gerdfranmediapft2040 thank you for your input & love you guys but it is my understanding that that was a mistranslation because the English translators did not understand the sequence of events. He could not eat the Passover before the Passover. Yeshua was put in the grave at the very moment that the slaughtered lambs were put in the ovens. He fulfilled it every step.
But that is my understanding, of course, I could be wrong. Many scholars believe it was the Passover so will pray about my understanding that Yah correct my understanding if it is wrong. 😊

Remember the Roman Empire had their own holidays, traditions and customs before turning into a so called “Christian” nation so all they did was keep their old pagan holidays/traditions and include Christ to make it seem like a new Christian holiday

The words of Paul: You cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah (God)and the cup of demons. You cannot be partaking of the table of Jehovah and the table of demons. Or "are we inciting Jehovah to jealousy"?
    (1 Cor.10:21&22)
Paul is saying you can't mix true worship and pagan worship.
Jehovah is a God exacting exclusive devotion and taking vengeance; Jehovah is taking vengeance and is disposed to rage. Jehovah is taking vengeance against his adversaries, and he is resentful toward his enemies. Jehovah is slow to anger and great in power, and by no means will Jehovah hold back from punishing. In destructive wind and storm is his way, and the cloud mass is the powder of his feet. (Nahum !;2&3)
With all the tornados that have been hitting the world, I'm seeing that Jehovah is not happy with his creation on earth.

    Leaven = doctrine/teaching, not sin.
Mt. 13:33 He spoke another parable to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three sata of flour until it was all leavened.”
Mt. 16:6 And Jesus said to them, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Mt. 16:11 “How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you about bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Mt. 16:12 Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Mk. 8:15 And He was giving orders to them, saying, “Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod.”
Lk. 12:1 Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Lk. 13:21 “It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three sata of flour until it was all leavened.”
1Cor. 5:6-8 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Gal. 5:9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.

The seder plate is the same thing as the traditions of men. The Passover meal is outlined in the Torah, and it is not the seder plate as you described, you have equated the traditions of men to be part of you worship and remembrance of Him. No where does it give the ingrediencies of the seder plate you gave, the is a Jewish custom, not the word of God.
