Yup ammonia the most underrated cleaner ever. I do the same thing on my move out jobs. Insanely effective on carpet stains as well. I use it all the time when I clean my customers carpets with my Oreck Orbiter. No the odor does not linger. Use it for spot treatments 50-50 mix with water. Much more effective then any overpriced spot treatment product and literally cost pennies. Great video as always. Your channel rocks because you give great sensible solutions that work in the real world.
Thank you it worked pretty Well😁 But a warning if you use this method on a non stick baking tray the non-stick coating will come right off..🤦🏼♀️ well you live and you learn 😆
I've used baking soda...placed a towel in the bathtub put the racks on top of the towel, and ran hot water to cover the racks. Sprinkled the baking soda over the racks and let it soak overnight or longer. No smell or having to wear gloves.
Oh My Goodness!! Thank You for always being out there finding easier better ways for us to do the not so fun jobs around the house!! I live in a neighborhood where things sometimes get stolen. I think I will go buy me some oven racks at the thrift store and see if those little druggies steal these "packages!" hahaha
Fascinating. But couldn’t you just use a single bag since racks are flat? Also, could you do in an indoor bathtub or will the fumes kill me? Finally, what about tough spots on oven surface?
@@rossydv Yes you can put them in the same bag if they will fit. You could get a giant black bag used for leaves and put them in there together. I wouldn't use the tub just in case fumes leak out.

Can I do this with Easy Off? Is there a faster way? I love how easy this is, but I'm trying to speed up the process for my housekeeping business; I'm rarely at a jobsite for 8+ hours.
Yes you can use Easy Off, but you are still gonna have to let it sit all night either way. Also, you will learn that ammonia works better than the Easy Off👍🙂
@@CleanWithConfidence I’m in Europe and we don’t have the same products here. I saw your breakdown of the pink stuff. Do you have a similar video of bar keepers? That way I may find a similar product here.
@@SilleIN Gotcha. No I don't have a breakdown for that product. But Bar Keepers Friend is an abrasive scrubbing powder. Do you have any abrasive scrubbing powders where you live?
@@CleanWithConfidence We do, but for the pans I was thinking of cleaning has a somewhat delicate colour on it- which is why I thought of using the ammonia on them. For things that is abrasion safe I use a glass fibre “stick”, which works wonders. But I’m afraid to use any abrasion on my pots. If interested you can google them- Berlinger Haus. The inside is really tough but the outside is a bit delicate.
I followed your directions to a tee. The dirt did not come out and now my racks are not even shinny any more. Looks like the vinegar took all of the coating off the racks. So sad

Glad it worked for you! Sorry to hear about your baking sheet.
It's like you knew I planned to clean my oven this weekend. Totally needed this! Thank youuuuu!!!!
You are welcome!🙂

Are the wracks left submerged overnight or do you just drain the tub and sprinkle baking soda on them while wet?
@@rossydv “to soak” means the racks are left in the water👍🏾🇬🇧
Wow. Wish I could clean mine that way, but I live in an apartment. Patio but no driveway. This way, however, seems definitely the way to go.
I’m happy! Thanks for your tips, glad you emphasized gloves, chemicals will do your skin some damage.
happy to help
this really works. I use black bags, seal tight
Yes!!
Great job I will try it.
Perfectly simple, and effective now that I like a lot!!! Thanks. Liked and subscribed with this video. I will get the ammonia and do this today.
Glad you found the video valuable! Welcome to the channel🙂

Nice straight to it 👏👏👏🤔
Great video, I want ti know how to ciean my gas stove top racks, would it be the same?. couldn't believe how nice they looked. Thank you..
Yes you can do the same thing👍
Thank you.
Great balls of fire awesome video
Thanks🙂
Can this method be used on any grill grates? Or is it only recommended on oven racks due to the type of material that it’s made from?
Awesome. Thank you!
You are welcome
Awesome tip!
Glad you found the video valuable!🙂
Looks good will try tomorrow
Will this also work on big cookie sheets that have grease build-up baked on? Or what do you recommend?
Yes it will work. For cookie sheets I would probably just use Easy Off or Bar Keepers Friend
@@CleanWithConfidence thanks so much for the help n tips
Fascinating. But couldn’t you just use a single bag since racks are flat?

Finally, what about tough spots on oven surface?
Yes the fumes would kill you. The idea it to keep the fumes contained inside the bag with the rack. 🙂
@@CleanWithConfidence yes, meant within the bag in the tub. Would that be safe?
Also, single bag question?
@@rossydv Yes you can put them in the same bag if they will fit. You could get a giant black bag used for leaves and put them in there together. I wouldn't use the tub just in case fumes leak out.
Seriously!!! Works!!! Amazing!!!!
Thanks for the testimony!!!

Can you use this same method with the slider type oven racks?
Would ammonia or vinegar be best for those racks?
? How can I clean the metal frames around each burner that NEVER have come clean? Help?

How do you dispose of the amonia when you're finished? Seems like it spilling out of the bag will kill plant life nearby.
It pretty much evaporates
Dude the racks were clean to begin with !
@@CTheos yes they were👍
Well that help for grill rack?
Yes it will! Although, … if you are trying to keep it seasoned or have a non stick coating on the grill rack it will remove it.
I live in an apartment. Is it safe to do inside?
I would do it outside.
Yes
LOVE
🙂
Can you do the same to grimey pot bottoms?
No, for pot and pan bottoms it's much quicker and easier to do this: th-cam.com/video/-rWoAbyhCM4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Z4VMvHvCIQk_vnbh

You used the wrong chemical. You are supposed to use ammonia not vinegar.
