I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ With the i6. i could easily say it’s definitely the #1 i6 somebody could get. my jeep has 263k miles and still running strong. i have heard of many 4.0 jeeps lasting for over 500k miles,

NoahBones - My 2003 TJ has 303,000+ miles on it and still gets as-new (but still lousy) MPG, and it runs GREAT. After my tire size increase, I re-geared the Dana 44 and 30HP axles to 4.56 and it handles Interstate speeds just fine. I can be rolling along with the top down and doors off at 75 and easily jump up to 85 to pass someone. With all that horrible, brick-like aerodynamic drag that engine-tranny-gearing combo is just like a sedan, but it is still torquey as hell in the rocks and mud. It is truly a great engine!!!

My dad, a mechanic in the 70's, bought and restored classic cars for extra money when I was little. His favorite of all the cars we had, mechanically anyway, was the '66 barracuda. Gorgeous car, the exact model from the song by Heart. My dad says you can fix just about anything on one of those wearing a tux and not get it dirty. It was a bit of a gas guzzler due to it having a stainless steel frame but they are _super_ reliable cars. We didn't sell that one until we absolutely had to.

You forget the Ford Barra and the Chrysler Hemi Six. Both Australian engines. The Chrysler was in it's day the worlds most powerful six cylinder engine for a passenger car (302HP). The Barra was available with up to 362HP but is tuneable to more than 800 HP with the stock bottom end.

Car News TV : This is a little history about Chrysler's Slant-Six. Supposedly, it was developed around 1957, or '58...sometime around then. This is what I have often read. Anyway, it was developed to go in their pick-up truck. It stood straight up in their trucks; but...but, when they first tried to put it in a car, it sat up so high, they could not close the hood. So they had to redesign the motor mounts and turned the engine somewhat over onto it's side. so they could close the hood on their cars....SO I'VE READ. Anyway, 1987 was the last year you could get a Slant-Six. I HAD A 1987 Dodge pick-up with the Slant-Six.
