- After over a year of heading into Olney and the Watagans in NSW Australia for our 4wd adventures we finally got around to driving the all too well known Creek Rd 4x4 track.
With wheel lifting ruts every 50-100m and our hardest winch yet, it really was a great day of offroading in the Watagans.
If you can get out to the Watagans in seek of an all round fun track for your 4wd then give Creek rd a wheel! just make sure you got your winch ready... - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

I've done Creek Rd a few times but not lately.
Last time, it was a run from hell and not one I'm in a hurry to do again. Not a track for the unprepared or the faint hearted and definitely not one for a solo traveler!

It is definitely a challenging track, we couldn’t have gotten through without our winch…
Dunno about it being bulldozed, no idea how they would even get one in. I think it's just the nature of the spot with the rain and some of the cars going through churning up the clay. I did it with a few mates back in 2020 or 2021 can't even remember now and it was about the same maybe worse.
Previously when we had the drought (2019) and before it was dry as out there and looked waaaaaaay easier.
I had wondered after being there why they’d use there resources to get a bulldozer down there and not just gate it off if they really didn’t want people driving the track.
It’s actually quite a fun spot, it Would be good to have a crack in the dry!
What pressures were you running?
I’d say it would have been 16psi.
Honestly can’t remember but I usually run 16 and never had any issues
How does the hilux go off road?
I’m happy with it, although I have blown both from and rear diffs and also a cv joint.
But the car does have 400,000ks on it.
Otherwise with the lift, bigger tyres and lockers now I love it!!
Only other thing I’d consider is a SAS swap down the line.
Is there anything in particular you wanted to know?
Maybe consider taking the iPad off your kid. Literally sat on it the whole time
