Revisiting an old favourite- Greens Break Rd The Watagnas
มุมมอง 2.8Kปีที่แล้ว
Greens Break Rd bought us another awesome day of 4wdriving out in the Watagans. Helping out a crew at the Log and navigating our way up the the epic Greens Break Rd Hill. Its been 2 years since we last took our 4wd's through greens break rd and I gotta say we were both definitely excited to see how much the track has changed and if we still had it in us to get out the other side undamaged.
WATAGANS 5 WAYS

We're out at the Watagans back in the 4wd looking to do Greens Break rd but due to a fallen tree we have a little play around at the 5 Ways before heading to camp. Just a short little video this time out at the Watagans but definitely good fun to be out in the Hilux again.
Kings Domin8r Xtreme Winch Review - 2 years later

Sydney’s 4wd tracks- You have got to see this place!
Hi mate congrats just wanted to ask if you happen to know if that track you did is still open?
I’ve heard mixed things about the whole area. There is still people out there most weekends with their trucks and dirt bikes. I’d say it’s still open but I’ve heard there are cameras up now monitoring and possibly fining people. So can’t be too sure in the exact situation sorry mate
Oh my gosh the track is rough and around Menai too ! Great video thank you !
Cheers 👍🏻
For the price you could fit a spare on the rear.
Absolutely mate 👍🏻
Why we doin it? 😂
All closed now…
How do u mean closed? So many entries to the area looked open just last week…
Open but cameras everywhere and fines enforced. So technically closed unless you want to pay $110 for a few hours of wheeling
@smokin4x45 probably still cheaper then driving out to Lithgow for a day 😂😂
Maybe consider taking the iPad off your kid. Literally sat on it the whole time
Now thats real FWDriving, not like my ex driving on a flat track.
🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video thanks mate 🤙🏽
Cheers mate 🍻
are you from the coast car looks familiar
Na not really mate, around Sydney
G'day! I had one in my Hilux prior to my Colorado and had no issues so I put a brand new one it. I don't use witches often as I try not to get stuck in the first place, however it's nice knowing that it's there and it works should the need arrive. I can't see the sense in spending huge money on something that one gets used once in a blue moon! Some people say that they are cheap and nasty but if you look after them, they'll last for ages.
That’s it mate, like anything, as long as it’s taken care of they will last a long time. I actually just put a new one in as my old one finally did breakdown but it lived a hard life and did the job when I needed it 👍🏻
What a great dad aye!!! great vid 👍🏼
Cheers! Glad u liked it 👍🏻
Nice vid mate
Cheers mate, it’s a great drive through there 👍🏻
I’d love to go out with someone who’s more experienced there if you still wheel?
I haven’t been out that way for a long time mate
Hey we seen u there we pulled u outta the water/sand
Haha thanks again guys!! I ended up buying a new winch after thy trip… 😂
Great video mate, keen to try that park myself. TJ’s is just up the road and it’s pretty good too.
Yeah I’d be keen to try TJ’s too. So good for the kids on the bikes
Unless you have bikes , don’t bother, it’s all about bikes , not 4x4
Great vid! 🐍
Cheers mate
This was really helpful mate. Believe it or not. I’m about to put some of the exact same rock sliders on my year 2000 Hilux dual cab not because I’m a serious four-wheel driver. I just want to protect my sills. Can I ask if they rub your leg as you’re getting into the car. I sort of wanted something that wasn’t gonna or that I wasn’t gonna have to climb over if that makes any sense . Put it this way. I took the original Toyota aluminium steps off because I absolutely hate steps on cars but I do like the idea of sliders for protection..😂😂😂
Glad the vid helped mate! They are still going strong too. I can’t say I rub my leg on them at all, I haven’t taken much notice though. Mate, those side steps are horrible, I’d be ripping em right off too 😂 All the best with em mate.
Cheers mate
Nice video mate! helped me decide what to buy!
Nice one mate, I hope u get as much use out of it as me 💪🏻
Winching from bullbar hoops was sketchy as
Phenomenal vid, fantastic driving, great filming, but please throw your kid's tablet out the window.
good content mate great story and well told cheers from Queensland south
Cheers mate 👍🏻
Should have kept going through that power lines track as at the end is wombat holes and it’s a very good challenge nun the less
That’s one of those things isn’t it, make a call and who knows what may or may mot have been. I’ll keep it in mind though mate cheers 🍻
Ever wanted to tour up an look around in the NT/outback regions mate?
Max and I have done a decent trip around Kakadu down to Kathrine back up through Litchfield in a hired 4x4 years ago, but the cost of that trip today would be a big one on the bank account. In saying that I’d love another trip up there mate, it’s an unreal part of Australia
Yeah righto mate, I'm originally tassie boy up in the NT for some time. Well be doing similiar route in school holidays. Its definitely a place worth seeing thats for sure.
@matttasmania9506 nice one mate! Enjoy it for me 🍻
Shall do mate, you guys stay safe an keep exploring.
I was there in the middle of Covid, I pretty much had the whole island to myself. Lake Mackenzie, Eli creek and central station all empty. It was amazing. I went right up to sandy cape and the last car I saw was a ranger at Orchid Beach. Not a soul after that. Oh except the lighthouse keeper and his Mrs. Shocked me when he walked out of his house up there lol
Oh mate that would have been a totally different experience We did go during the Christmas break so it would explain the crowds a bit but mate what u had sounds spot on 👌🏻
Wow it's so beautiful place ❤
Great place to visit mate! 👌🏻
Hey bro how do you find the Garmin overlander?
Its been a good unit and I am happy I have it but it’s really not up to date with tracks at all around Australia. I has really let me down sometimes and i still use it along side google maps. Depending what u want it for, it may not be worth the money…
Awesome video mate. Love how your keeping the older 4x4s going and do the simple camp setups . I really want to find the first spot that you were at, could you do maps on your videos?
Cheers mate, do love keeping it basic on the trips. I can start showing maps a little more in the videos but the first spot in this video I was at Firetruck hill.
Yalwal was a mining town until the dam was built and flooded the town out of existence.
Ha how about that, bit of history for me. Nice one mate
That tree came out of no where! 😅
Definitely wasn’t there b4 😂
Glad to see another video! Happy New Year! My Hilux is almost identical to yours but no lockers yet. Due to the cost, I'm thinking about putting auto lockers in. What size rims and tyres do you run?
Happy new year mate! 🥳 I have 16 inch rims with 31 inch tyres. Plus I do have a 2 inch lift. I bought an auto lokka for the front years back but ended up selling it. I’d be interested to hear how they go if u go down that path…
Hey mate great vid, if that’s the manning river crossing on wombat creek trail at 11:25 you can park up at the campground and hike about a kilometre or 2 down the manning river banks and find a huge unmarked waterfall
Nice one mate. I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m out that way. Cheers 👍🏻
That was so funny at the end 🤣 😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So good! Definitely wasn’t taking the car through there though 😅😂
Shaaaaaaaaane wow happy to see you ❤
Riblore! 🎶🎶 Glad ur still watching the videos mate 👍🏻
Just found your channel and really refreshing to see someone out hitting the tracks who isn't driving a brand new 79 series or cruiser 🤙
I do love the old Hilux, she’s pretty basic but does the job. glad u like the channel mate cheers 🍻
Great vid man
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Sent his tyres to tyre heaven haha
😆
Nothing beats a father son trip. Good on ya mate. Great vid 👍
Nothing like em mate 👌🏻
Some mad shots in this one man!! Editing was coo.
Cheers dude.
Can't believe you didn't use the log 17:50. Should be an indispensable aid for all adventure trekking. LOL!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Gotta hand it to him though he had the right idea 👌🏻👌🏻
Good onya mate, love seeing where you go. Do you plan it or just head somewhere and suck it and see?
There’s always a loose plan to begin with, then it’s just up to how we’re feeling and what we find
Awesome campsites, Ridge line tracks are always fun. Great vid👍🏻
Cheers mate. That campsite in the snowy was 👌🏻
Hey mate Do you know the name of the spot with the epic view where you camped? Awesome videos!
Jeez man, na not really. I’m not sure it really has a name actually
No worries, thanks anyways. Will be part of the adventure finding it 🤙
@@loc4018 that’s it mate 👍🏻
sketchy as dude - the look on your face a few times there 😆 good content mate.
Cheers mate! There was some moments there 😅😅
Cool video mate. I'm still to do the Killy Loop and don't even know how to get to it. I presume a quick google would sort that out for me
Definitely a track worth doing mate 👍🏻
Lux goes anywhere with the lockers love the old n60 hiluxes
Gotta love em
@6:40 - That seatbelt pop! Haha.. You try to release it but it stays, then you lean over and it pops out. You look shocked, look at your son, who is oblivious! So funny!!
I had a good giggle at this doing the edit 😅😂👌🏻
I did Killy a couple of weeks ago. I went with a group from Central Coast 4x4 Adventures. My Hilux was the only vehicle with IFS and it did me proud! I only needed to winch in one spot (where the rope snapped), other than that I did well. I put a brand new winch rope on before doing the run because I knew how tough it can be. I don't have diff locks so picking the right line is key to getting through. Great video yet again! Hit me up if you ever want to do a run with another Hilux!
Nice one mate! It’s definitely a fun good challenge, ur right about lines though, there was a couple of sections we drove around but coulda been interesting to try. What years ur Hilux? I would be keen to go back through there one day in a year or so, just give it some time to see if the track changes much over time
G'day My Lux was an 02 model but I've since upgraded to a 2012 RG Colorado. I got offered a trade in price I couldn't refuse! The Lux was fun but I'm getting old and I just retired so I wanted something more modern and comfortable. I'm still setting the Colorado up as a capable cruiser so I haven't had it off road as yet. Keep your great videos coming!
@patelliott8724 Hi Pat, no one can hold that against you, sounds to me like you’ve made a good decision. You gotta be comfy on those bigger trips or they can really turn into a struggle. Hope the set up goes well and flick me a photo one day if u can! Enjoy mate
Good old Killy never disappoints 😂
Awesome little track 👌🏻
Great video mate, hope you never get rid of the hilux, I love watching it on the tracks!
It’s definitely not in the plans mate! Cheers
throw that kids ipad or whatever out the window n teach him to enjoy nature n get off the screen
You wouldn’t be the first to say that! 😂😂
